The Beverly Heritage

Thanks so much to the staff and volunteers for such a well managed regional history museum. Our family donated our grandfather's World War I uniform and personal effects and the staff has done such a wonderful job ensuring that the artifacts are preserved and interpreted. Thanks so much for all of your hard work in retelling and interpreting our region's rich history. Keep up the great work!

Interesting collection of historical artifacts. More interesting was the conversation with the museum operator, highly knowledgeable about local Beverly history.

Really nice, small museum and gift shop. Knowledgeable staff! Adults are $5, kids free. I am a local to Elkins and learned a lot about my hometown and the region. Recent renovations made the museum a joy to visit. With the video, you can plan on about an hour.

Fantastic visit! I am so grateful for the helpful information in locating some details of my family history. Chris helped by suggesting some places in Beverly where we may find markers of the Files and Tygart cabins: found! And Justin suggested some titles of different publications where we might find some more historical details, and sent us next door to see Deb, who sold us her last copy of a handwritten and hand-illustrated account of Beverly history, written by Carolyn Respass. The Heritage Center looks amazing! Excellent curation in the museum, and my son loved serving as Judge (he fined me $200, but will let me pay it off over time). Many thanks to Justin and Chris for the excellent historical information and suggestions. Any visitors center or Heritage museum would be blessed to have them on their staff, and I'm sure Beverly is very thankful for their stewardship.

The staff at the Center were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

I was visiting Beverly WV from VT to do some genealogy research. Christopher, who was working at the center, the day I dropped in, was a wealth of information on the history of Randolph county. Unfortunately, I was on a tight schedule while in Beverly and I wish I had spent more time there. I am definitely considering a return trip. The Beverly Heritage Center is a must see for anyone interested in the history of WV or the American Civil War.
