The Bear Trace

This is the worse condition I ve seen this course and have played it several times in the past couple years .
Greens are in terrible shape, tees boxes are bad .Jack should get up here ASAP and have his name removed from this course. Save your money and find another place to play .

Great public course, always kept in good shape. Nice greens, snack bar and pro shop are professional and kind.

I'm giving this course 2 stars because of the beautiful views of the lake and the scenery on the course. But if I was rating the shape of the course I would have to give them a 1 star bc I couldn't give them a 0. We brought 8 golfers down from knoxville today. And the course was in awful shape. Definitely was not worth the 65$ to play. More like a 35$ course. Greens weren't mowed this morning, greens were in rough shape all the way around also Slow, bumpy, bare some greens had areas of new sod like they had lost their greens a hit. Fairways were in decent shape. If you were off the fairway it was bare, rocky, dirt, mud ( you name it). Approaches were thin and bare. Newly soded areas in the approaches were poorly done. Tee boxes were thin, bare might as well been hitting from sand bunkers off the tees on all par 3's. Bunkers had no defined edges. Just all around awful experience and waste of money.

Played the course the first weekend of October and couldn't be more pleased. The course is absolutely beautiful. Tree lined fairways, plenty of water - if you're good off the tee, you can be successful at this course. Greens rolled perfectly and fairways are in perfect condition. The only downside was the clubhouse being closed due to COVID - still have food and drinks but you can't go inside to eat or shop.

Great course, tee boxes, fairways, sand traps, and greens are all in great condition. Beautiful views, we even some some wildlife near the course. Friendly staff. Nice grill to order food from. Great food, fast and friendly service.

I really like the course. It is challenging but very playable with wide fairways and a smattering of bunkers protecting the greens. Most holes are forgiving for those who slice but a draw will be rewarded. In general the staff is friendly. The views are quite pleasing.

Challenging Golf Course always in great condition. Range and putting area to get warmed up!

What a disappointment. Greens were in such horrible shape. Course has a great setting in the state park. Very friendly staff. Really hope they get the course in better shape soon.

What a great public course. So well maintained it could be a private track. The fairways and greens have improved significantly over the past couple of years.
To be able to interact in nature and play is astonishing.seing the deer wildlife etc.. is so nice. Great pro shop fair prices friendly staff and good food. Well worth the small green fees to play.
