Spectacular church and breathtaking view just a few hours (by public transport) from the center of Turin. Strongly recommended place to visit, especially during a good day. The photos I attach are a small testimony to the beauty of the place, which you cannot avoid seeing. Even if underestimated, Turin is also very beautiful from above.

Great beautiful basilica, wonderful wonderful ..... shame the road to reach it for the tour buses ... especially the sharp bend a few hundred before where the cars park wildly and the driver has to do stunts ... especially on Sundays ...

It is a pity that the interior of the basilica cannot be visited at the moment, but the descent into the crypt with the tombs of the Savoys is the hall in which sound depicts all the Popes of history was worthwhile. There is also the possibility of climbing the dome, but that day was unusable. I recommend going up to Superga using the characteristic rack tramway.

THE BASILICA IS CLOSED, it is possible to visit only the dome (external, not internal and along about 140 steps) at the price of 3 euros, or the Royal Tombs at the price of 5 euros.
We arrived in Superga via the Tramvia da Sassi (price 6 euros each round trip) to be able to visit the basilica and to enjoy the view of Turin: we had a negative answer for the first because the caretaker will be absent for about another 15 days. and therefore it is not possible to admire the basilica inside. As for the panoramic view, there are tall trees that obscure it, it is possible to enjoy it only from a bar table at the arrival of the Tramvia, but being clouded we did not even receive this reward.

Beautiful basilica at the top of a hill. The beautiful view can dominate Turin and its surroundings. The parking can be a little small some WE of affluence. There are some walks and hikes possible from this place.

A landmark in Torino, Super game it's a must see among the city's attractions.
You get there by public transportation or by car. You pay a small fee and you can get on an outdoor balcony where the view is pretty impressive. In the back of the Church, there's a memorial monument for the great local football team that all died in a plane crash back in '49

The experiences lived in the basilica are very suggestive.
I recommend a guided tour and to inquire in advance about the place.
The prices of the bar on site are not very convenient.

For its history it is a sacred place for every Piedmontese and I do not speak, with due respect, of the disaster of the Greater Turin, but for the victory that allowed the duchy of Savoy to remain free and give birth to our Italy after years.

The basilica is just outside the center of Turin. You can go by tram 15 and bus or better with the rack railway. It is beautifully restored and maintained and is being refurbished inside. Unfortunately, there is also the visit admission (therefore the point deduction). We would like to have looked at it from the inside.

The view of the city is fabulous, but if I think about the tragedy of the plane and all the dead athletes it makes me sad.

A breathtaking place especially for the memory of the Turin team. A wonderful place with a crazy view, the only flaw is the too much fog that prevented the vision of the whole city and of a unique sunset. The Basilica and the surrounding gardens are very clean.

Also reachable by car, but I recommend getting on the tram. Panoramic place from which you can admire the city of Turin from above. The basilica is beautiful and imposing, the view from the dome is spectacular. Behind the basilica there is a commemorative plaque in memory of the plane crash on the hill in 1949 in which the entire Turin soccer team and the air crew lost their lives.

Interesting and very cultural place but mostly historical !!

Historical and magical point of the Turin hill .... unfortunately the municipal administration has neglected it a lot: internal basilica with scaffolding x restoration and say reopen in September .... fairy tales

Unfortunately it was closed due to either the COVID 19 situation or some other reason.

Beautiful basilica overlooking the hill of Turin and from which you can enjoy a fantastic view of the city and the Piedmontese Alps. It was built by King Vittorio Amedeo II as thanks to the Virgin Mary, after having defeated the French.
The project is by the famous architect from Messina Filippo Juvarra and dates back to 1715. The royal tombs of the Savoy in the basements of the basilica must also be visited. The basilica can also be reached by a funicular that leaves from the district of Borgata Rosa Sassi

Basilica definitely worth seeing if you are near Turin, in memory of the legendary football team, but also beautiful for the view that can be admired from above.

I think my review is superfluous for such a famous place, yet the Basilica of Superga holds a special place in the heart of many Turin residents. It is an excellent vantage point from which you can admire the city of Turin but it is also an important orientation point for those who look at the hill from the city and see the impressive Basilica.
Superga contains many stories, the first is that of the siege of Turin in 1706 and then there is the most recent one which involved the Grande Torino team in 1948.
The majestic Basilica of Superga was commissioned by Vittorio Amedeo II of Savoy as an ex-voto for the Austro-Piedmontese victory over the French troops that besieged the city from May to September 1706.
In memory of the victory every 7 September, a Te Deum is celebrated.
On 4 May 1948 the hill is enveloped by threatening clouds. The trimotor transporting the Grande Torino team, returning from a friendly match in Lisbon, crashed at 17:03 on the back embankment of the Basilica.
The news bounces fast in the city so much that many flock to the place and realize the immense tragedy ... Unfortunately there will be no survivor.
A plaque commemorates the place of the disaster and is a place of pilgrimage for all sportsmen. Every May 4th the grenade fans go up with their team to commemorate the players who made Turin great.
