After changing out a few appliances from propane to electric, as well as adding an awesome geothermal system from Dandelion Energy, I was in need of adding more panels to my existing system. I reached out to SunCommon primarily because they had merged with/acquired Hudson Solar, who had installed my original panels. From my first conversation with Sales Rep Kris, who was simply a delight, to a beautiful solar array on my roof, SunCommon was fantastic to work with. I am someone who wants to know every detail and, coincidentally, asks 1,000 questions; every one was answered in full and with genuine enthusiasm. All in all, I'd fully endorse SunCommon to anyone who asks and, honestly, anyone who doesn't ask. If you're like me and would rather pay a fixed (and lower) rate for your energy needs, reach out to them. I mean, what will electricity cost in 20 years? Well, for me it will be nothing! The way I see it, my long term loan installments will always be lower than the utility payments and, should I sell my house before the loans are up, I'll certainly be able to demand a premium for a house that comes with free electricity. The only caveat, I'd say, is that you'll need to be patient. We've all grown so accustomed to 2 day delivery that we forget that some things still take time. It's a huge project, including first interview, site analysis, system design, financing, permitting, etc. It actually only took the crew a few days to install the panels once the red tape was cut but you're looking at months. You can mitigate the wait time by calling them today!
Not an uncaring mega national company but a local/ regional company with expertise and resources to do a great job. When service was needed got resolved by a local expert
Suncommon was a great partner in making our home solar. The instillation crew was fantastic and courteous the entire time. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Working with SunCommon to get our solar panels installed was an extremely positive experience, starting with the planning and design (Craig Hightower was attentive and flexible throughout). There were a few snafus with scheduling (dates on agreements did not always line up with what was discussed), but the installation happened within a reasonable window of the planned dates, and quickly. The installation foreman Joe Hughes exuded great spirit, and set a professional, courteous and always good-natured tone that was echoed by the entire crew. They were a pleasure to have around for the duration of the two-day installation. The electricians were also easy-going and professional and completed the hook-up on schedule the following morning. The roof panels look terrific, sleek and kind of sexy. We are very jazzed to have made the leap to solar.
We used SunCommon to install a solar panel system at our house in Rhinebeck NY this year. The whole process from start to finish was so quick and easy because their staff was amazing! Everyone was friendly and super helpful and handled every step so professionally. It was important to us to use a local company and one that has their own crews do the installation (no subcontractors!) and they stand behind all of their work. Our system was installed in January 2021 and we are already producing more electricity than we use even with a hot tub running 24/7. The installation crew was hard working, polite, clean and respectful of our house and yard. They provide a cool app that we use to monitor each panel s electricity production each day! We highly recommend SunCommon and are extremely happy with our solar
I found working with suncommon an easy workable experience. The staff was responsive and knowledgeable. They completed the work in a timely fashion. The system is producing the amount of electricity expected. Be sure that the trench is properly filled in and seeded.
I am very pleased with the work by the SunCommon team from beginning to end. We started the solar process at our homestead in New Scotland, NY as the Covid-19 pandemic hit, which delayed installation, but we picked right up as restrictions lifted. The SunCommon folks did most of the legwork for financing, kept me updated constantly with progress and next steps, and navigated the entire process well. The siting and installation crew was friendly, explained everything as they went, solved several challenges because of the layout of our property, and did a professional installation job of the ground-mounted solar array and the Powerwall battery backup in the basement. The crew paid attention to little details to ensure a quality installation that would last, and at the end were proud of their work in making a difference for the climate and sustainability one installation at a time. Thank you Lindsay, Loralee, Tim and Tim, Peter and Dave, and Mike and crew!!!
Diana was wonderful. She was told about my first phone call, contacted me through email and kept in touch until we had an appointment lined up. Even on the weekend! Thank you Diana.
Nick, the service technician, was great too. Friendly, knowledgeable, informative and he liked my dog! What a way to make a customer happy. He resolved my issue and the next day when I signed onto my portal, everything was working perfectly. Thank you Nick.
I m very happy! Thank you Suncommon.
