Wonderful tour of the Lee family home. Staff was helpful, technology was efficient and thorough, gave many details of life at Stratford Hall. Three different types of tours were available, excited to return for another, or possibly one of their special events.

I was so excited to finally visit Stratford Hall, and I have to say I was very pleased with the preservation of the home and grounds, and I had a decently knowledgeable tour guide. My only issue, however, was with the bookstore. Rather than focusing on the Lee family or the rich 18th century history...

Happy birthday Robert Edward Lee!

Happy birthday Robert Edward Lee!
Stratford Hall was the place to be today.
There were costumed interpreters, guides, and a variety of informed docents who helped make the great house come alive.
We enjoyed talking with Martha , who is a cornerstone of the program. Thank you all for a memorable...

The walking audio tour of the Great House was phenomenal! Well thought out, informative, very enjoyable. The surrounding sites were enjoyable as well.

We did have a hard time with the trails. The one trail, leading from the parking lot to the grist mill, paralleling the water.. was terribl...

Went for a group function at the Inn dining hall. It was well catered. The hall where the buffet was served was notable for the beautiful curtains on opposing walls with an antique oak leaf/floral pattern in what appeared to be burnt sienna and eggshell. Also, visited the Dupont library on the groun...

I had previously went here with my kids about 15 years ago and since Tony and I were in the area I decided to stop again.
It was very easy to find close to Colonial Beach VA in the same area where other famous people were born and lived

I visited this historical location during the winter, so as a disclaimer, it may be much better during the warmer months. They offer tours of the main house with a helpful guide that last about 50 minutes, as well as grounds that house exhibits of what the various buildings would have looked like an...

An interesting facility rich in history. My husband and I chose the self-guided tour with the audio recording machines. The house was beautiful and the displays were intriguing. The gift shop has lots of interesting and unique gifts as well as corn meal that is made at the working Mill on site. The ...

Fascinating place. Home of the Lee's in the 1700s. The family had many members who were important in the American Revolution and early history of the country. Also Robert E. Lee was born and lived there till he was 4. Well preserved and beautiful grounds.

A architecturally significant plantation house with one of the most symmetrical floor plans I've seen with near perfect natural ventilation. The Great House circa 1736-1739 forms the letter 'H,' with a large central hallway with the other rooms adjoining this area with symmetrically placed doors at...

Always a nice place to visit! Robert E. Lee's birthplace with a great mansion to view as well as outer buildings (kitchen, stables, slave quarters, spring house), however could be kept in better shape and admission and tour prices are rather high.

Historic house and extensive grounds of the Lee family. There were at least 4 generations who lived here and made a variety of contributions to the early history of the US. It was also the birthplace of Robert E. Lee. The tour of the house is fascinating and there are a lot of out buildings you can...
