One of the best small vineyards/ wineries in the Yarra Valley. The lunch, wine and service was amazing. Highly recommend this place!

Lovely relaxing place for date night! We were especially happy they are now open on Saturday nights. Food is delicious, wine is amazing and service is professional and on point. Lamb ragu was my stand out pick of the menu. Thanks Matt, Brad and Jane for a lovely evening.

My mum and dad have been coming here for years and it s a favourite of theirs. It was my first time there and I loved it! The service was excellent and very friendly. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and the wine. We absolutely loved the wines and very much enjoyed doing a tasting with Brad, who was so kind and helpful. I know we will back for sure!

We have had the pleasure of dining at Steels Gate Wines three times, the most recent in August 2019, and can highly recommend the venue in all aspects. The owners, Brad and Matt and their wonderful staff are warm and welcoming. Steels Gate has a great selection of wines, the food is divine (kudos to the chef Sam) and the outlook whilst dining, is simply beautiful.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch out at Shantell Restaurant yesterday with friends. Beautiful outlook across the vineyard and hills, even on an overcast and rainy day. The service was friendly, and the food delicious and beautifully presented. Enjoyed a lovely glass of wine from Shantell's own grown wine list.
Will definitely return.

Great winery and restaurant, we had their Grazing Platter and it was fantastic. The setup is nice with good seating inside and out near the vines.

Food always impresses, the new outdoor setting will be perfect for summer and their pinot is hands down our favorite

It was a great afternoon of food, wine and conversation with the owners of Steels Gate Winery. We have visited on a number of occasions with the old owners - when it was Chantel and pleased that the the entire experience was amazing. If you are in the Yarra Valley make sure you visit, what I consider, one of the best wineries in the valley.

Had our first visit to Steelsgate winery since the beautiful new timber deck, blinds and opening roof was installed. We all had the set menu with choices and the meals were all good, served quickly in a friendly manner. Special thanks for the wine tasting at the table and don't ever let Jane get away. She is an asset to your friendly team.

Fantastic lunch on the terrace overlooking the vineyards. Stunning food, wonderfully hospitable team and our well-behaved dog was welcomed onto the terrace to also enjoy the views with a tipple of the finest Yarra Valley water, whilst we sampled the delicious wines. The Greciano is a revelation - we had to bring some away with us. Looking forward to planning another trip out that way soon.

We recently visited Steels Gate on a winery tour of The Yarra Valley for a friends birthday with Grape Expectations Australia. Brad looked after us so well with a fabulous 1st class wine-tasting and absolutely delicious lunch. This place is a hidden gem and we will most definitely be going back! Thanks team!

We love this little hidden gem! The foods delicious, the wines divine, the atmosphere is tranquil & calming, Brad the host is super nice, its obvious he genuinely loves what he does. An absolute must visit when in the Valley!!!

Had an amazing time today at Steels Gate Winery. We had lunch with a couple of friends and we were all extremely impressed by the quality of the food, wine and service. Very friendly and attentive service in a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Please keep the duck salad on the menu.
Looking forward to getting back there in the near future.

We travelled up from Geelong to this lovely place in Dixon's Creek & l can honestly say that brad & staff were wonderful.... Lovely meals, great wine & excellent service....

Had lunch here two days ago. The food was amazing and the setting is spectacular. We shared the tasting platter, which I would definitely recommend, followed by individual mains - everyone s meal was perfect.
The Blanc de Blanc and Pinot Noir wines with our lunch were great.

We have been here for lunch numerous times and it has always been consistently wonderful. Beautiful fresh, tasty, modern food to cater for all tastes. A lovely treat!

Just finished having lunch here (again) and had to leave a review because we love this place. We're locals and as is often the case, the first time we went here was on a wine tour just a few months ago! We've been back 3 times since.
Brad is an outstanding host, friendly and personable. The vineyard is quiet and intimate. The wine is amazing and their food is great too.
Do yourself a favour if you're visiting the Valley and venture away from the big names and go to a little gem like this one!

The food is simply astounding. Pork cheek was mind blowing & followed up with the pork belly in hoisin sauce with Asian slaw fantastic!!!

Always a pleasure heading down to Steels Gate Winery. Stunning boutique winery, intimate and very relaxing. We love coming down and feeling like we have been welcomed into someone's home. Our kids hang out with owners, Brad & Matts young son, giving us a chance to have a chat and enjoy a beautiful glass of vino! Chef Sam never fails to put on a gorgeous spread - his platters are to die for! Highly recommend for singles, couples, families and groups. Personal service from Brad & Matt, amazing homely food, stunning wines, kid-friendly with outdoor and indoor activities and an intimate space for those wanting a break from the bigger wineries.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Steels Gate cellar door on Sunday, Owners Matt and Brad are amazing hosts that greet with a warm welcome and amazing wine! Our food (Pork tacos) was delicious and beautifully presented. Even on a cloudy day the views from the cellar door are both breathtaking and relaxing! Thank you for a wonderful Sunday!

Came to Shantell Vineyard with a group of 4 couples last minute on a Sunday afternoon. We made our way down to the Yarra Valley from Melbourne mid afternoon and made a lunch reservation on our way! With only 2 hours notice so we were so pleased that the restaurant were able so accommodate such a large booking with such short notice. Upon arriving the restaurant had beautiful natural lighting, gorgeous open plan dining area overlooking the vineyard. Upon being seated we were welcomed by Shan the Winemaker. The menu has a small selection of dishes. Great variety of choices and complimentary wines. Upon ordering we collectively felt uncomfortable with our waiter, she was a very elderly lady. She was so softly spoken that we were barely able to hear a word she was saying. Upon receiving our mains one of our diners tried to clarify if her ocean trout was well done as she had ordered. The softly spoken lady rudely replied with an unknowing "I hope so" and continued to serve the dish. Now we hoped so too as she is pregnant and cannot eat undercooked trout. After having to explain why she has had to request her dish well done the woman took the dish back to be redone. As grateful as we were for the dish to be redone, unfortunately the dish did not come back out until all 7 other dishes were finished. Would definitely return to Shantell winery for the food but the Service definitely let the business down.

We're thrilled that Steels Gate is our "local" restaurant and cellar door of choice. We've enjoyed more than a few dinners there over the summer season. The food, wine and service continues to excel.
And to cap it off, the outside dining area is pooch friendly, so our little man can join us for a relaxing evening overlooking the vines.

The team they have together really compliments the Establishment as well.

The meals were Devine, I couldn t go past the duck and was fortunate to taste the lamb shoulder as well. Both cooked to perfection and portion size was just right.

I fell in love with Pinot noir 2018 it was my favourite. Looking forward to the 2019.

Came here for wine tasting with Sean, our guide, and it was the best wines we had that day. We loved the fact that they are switching to eco-friendly practices, and they also have a dining room where you can pair food with their wines.
