Stark County District Library is a public library system that serves the residents of Stark County, Ohio. With 10 locations, 6 mobile libraries, and a 24/7 digital branch, the library system caters to nearly 2 million visitors annually. History

The Stark County District Library was established in 1909 as Canton Public Library. It was initially located in rented rooms on Market Avenue North before moving to its current location on McKinley Avenue in downtown Canton. Over time, the library expanded its services by opening branches throughout Stark County.

Services

The Stark County District Library offers an extensive range of services to its patrons. These include:

1) Books and Materials: The library has an extensive collection of books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs, magazines, newspapers and other materials available for checkout or download.

2) Digital Branch: The digital branch provides access to e-books, e-audiobooks, streaming movies & TV shows through platforms like Hoopla Digital & Kanopy.

3) Programs & Events: The library hosts various programs such as storytimes for children; book clubs; author visits; computer classes; job search assistance workshops; genealogy research sessions among others.

4) Mobile Libraries: Six mobile libraries travel throughout Stark county providing access to books and other materials for those who cannot visit one of the ten physical locations.

5) Meeting Rooms: Meeting rooms are available at most locations free of charge for community groups or individuals who need space for meetings or events.

6) Technology Access: Computers with internet access are available at all locations along with printing/copying/faxing services (for a fee).

7) Outreach Services - Homebound Delivery Service delivers books/materials directly to homebound patrons while Bookmobiles bring materials directly into communities where there isn't easy access to one of our physical branches.
