Beautiful hotel run by lovely people. Well kept dated building with high ceilings and lots of character, our room was beautifully hand painted and was good size with comfortable bed. The bar and restaurant were also great serving delicious food, the fillet steak was one of the best I ve had in a while. The service by Peter @ bar and other staff at breakfast was friendly and attentive. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.

Me and Boyfriend like to visit new places and temporary luxury breaks away.

Our plan was to stay here and visit Melton Mowbray and visit the Melton Mowbray pie shop but unfortunately they were closed during bank holidays. We then travelled to Matlock Bath & Bakewell the next day before heading home to Wigan.

Really enjoyed our stay. Complimentary sole gin, never tried it before it was quite sweet and I liked that but I m not usually a alcohol drinker so boyfriend (also not a big drinker) had the rest from the beautiful decanter, Helpful staff, cleanliness to a high standard, beautiful grounds/gardens, nice breakfast which we sat near the window overlooking the garden.

I recently spent a few days here as a birthday surprise and we loved every minute of it! The staff are super friendly and attentive, the decor is fantastic throughout, the food is very very good and the room was comfortable and practical without losing its charm. The "G&T Experience" drinks were a highlight for me, as was my golf lesson with a friendly, patient instructor.

My wife and I both came away feeling refreshed and felt as though we had experienced a very special weekend. We will be returning for the afternoon tea and Sunday lunch again!

I booked a room over 12 months ago, changing the date to November 2020 at the hotels request (covid of course so i accepted). Stapleford Park then cancelled my reservation in October 2020 citing that they were no longer accepting promotional bookings (i booked via a travel company). It is now February 2021 and I still have not received my refund. Reason - the finance team are furloughed? After complaining one of their directors rang me and admitted they have a long list of people awaiting refunds! Their finance team clearly have work to do so should not be furloughed. By all means furlough them once pending refunds are processed? Or furlough them on a part-time arrangement so the hotel receives some government income in the meantime? I know the industry is struggling but the hotel made the choice to cancel my reservation, not me. I want my money back Stapleford Park or i ll be pursuing legal action.

I worked at Stapleford park in 2001 as a Night Butler. Assisted in the kitchen as a Steward after hours. If I were to be a visitor it would be a wonderful place to go to, bit expensive though, not for the ordinary citizen. As for working, they get their pound of flesh out of you, but for the experience, well worth it. I worked there for 6 months, I am from Cape Town, South Africa.
