St. John's

Going to this University was hands down the worst mistake I have ever made in my entire life. They will make you believe you will be guaranteed work anywhere with their degree just to find out it means nothing. Not worth the life time of debt.

I attended both undergrad and graduate school. Exceptional school. The only thing I wish is if I could do it all over again.

It's a great place to go for college plus you can get to meet new friends plus the have great things on campus like the soccer field, basketball, the little theater and lots more, so come down to learn hard, study hard and make your life better for the future.

Campus is well maintained. Professors are knowledgeable. Support staff, especially the medical department, have a don't care attitude.

Most fun 4-year stretch of my life. The diversity of NYC is really on display here.

Please don't make the mistake of coming here.
I was in the education department & I hated the bureaucracy of this school so much.

On campus life is horrible - you have no privacy because they can randomly come in & do room searches at any time.
They don't allow opposite sex visitors. The food is abysmal. Education is terrible. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone.

This campus is absolutely beautiful! The ambiance makes it such an enjoyable place to be. The indoor Starbucks doesn t hurt either! Great campus with beautiful vibes.

The staff at St John's allowed a male student to assault a female student over a sticker. Warning was given to the school by dozens of people after he had made the threats, but the school did nothing to prevent this act of violence. I would never a million years send my children to this school, nor recommend St John's to anyone who values a safe environment for females.

A good school, lots of parking, good values being passed on. Their chapel is particularly beautiful

School sucked and they're money hungry. No regard for quality education and absurdly expensive.

Alot of options on-campus. Its my first day, so obviously didn't know where to go.

The security are angry old cops with nothing better to do with their time. They just want to feel powerful when they are just old and rude. St. John s will not get money for my daughter to live on campus run by these jerks. We will dorm off campus from now on.

Great campus had a great visitation today with a student host

Some of the professors are political and if you do not see everything their way you will fail. Other than that the campus is very nice, lots of hills and open space. Buildings are mostly clean, bathrooms are underused so they are clean aswell. The dining areas can become dirty if the tables are not cleaned off and lines can become long sometimes.

Attending SJU was one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had. If you're looking for a solid private school education at an affordable price, look no further than St. John's University. I loved it and am sure you will too. I'm a Redman for life.

St John's University!! Beautiful Queens New York Campus, SJU PRIDE and the diversity of the student body is very much in evidence!! Costly but everything is included, Tuition, TV/Cable ready, Wifi/Internet, Laundry rooms, tasty meal plans. Resident life!!! Living on campus is Great!! Dorm rooms/buildings are well maintained, clean, air-conditioned, good heating in the winter months and dorms gets even better as you head into your Sophmore, to Senior Years! You use your Storm card for pretty much everything, (no old school bunch of keys to walk around with), gives access to your rooms, most buildings, library, printing, to eat, (Monty's Dining, Dunkin Donuts, Asian, Subway and more on campus) do laundry, no coins needed, you can add money on your Storm card to buy/rent stuff/books from the SJU Book Store. Division 1 College Athletic Program!!! Just freaking adds to the excitement of being an SJU Student. St John's Dance Team!! Cheer Team, PEP Band, Our Supercool Mascot Johnnie the Thunderbird!!! SJU Sports programs, Basketball, (Coach Chris Mullins ) Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball, Track and Field, Fencing, just to name a few!!! Carnesseca Arena, Belson Soccer Stadium, Madison Square Garden Venues!!! DJ Parties/Concerts on campus!!

Extremely good college, you will meet many knowledgeable and friendly professors there. The campus is well maintained and beautiful. I highly recommend this college to you.

I've not been able to get the full experience of the campus yet, ya know, covid things. However, the parts I have been to and the faculty and staff I have met, have all been good to great interactions. One day I hope to explore more and get the full Saint Johns experience.

Attended four years as a premed student, honestly would not recommend SJU. Tuition is insane and not worth the education they provide

I took MBA program and like the program very much. Professors are knowledgeable and campus is so beautiful. It s very friendly with international students as well.

It may be good for undergrad, I don't know, I didn't do undergrad at the school, but it is horrendous for graduate school. At orientation, which was the day before classes started, I was showing other students how to access their email because the school doesn't notify you that you have one or how to access it even though professors were emailing out assignments to be completed before the first day.

Communication between the school and students is very poor, they expect their students to get their information about events and school closures through their social media pages. Pages on their website haven't been updated in years or have incorrect/incomplete information. They also like to wait as long as possible to give information which if you have students who have to buy plane tickets is extremely inconvenient, and if you try and call to get the information sooner they give you the wrong information, which again, when you have to buy a plane ticket is extremely inconvenient.

The apartments for graduate students are basically dorms with a kitchen, you have to share a room and half the time the bedrooms are so small you have no choice but to keep the beds bunked. You can pay extra to get a single but then you're still living with other people and sharing a bathroom. Facilities has to constantly be called for repairs. The internet in the apartments is even worse than it is on campus.

You're even worse for wear if you're unable to get an assistantship because they offer no scholarships for the majority of the programs and 99% of campus jobs require the student to qualify for work study, and even the jobs that regular students can apply for work study students can also apply for.

The school, despite being called a university, doesn't have an actual library (besides the law library, which unless you're a law student you can't even use) There's two floors of a building that's considered a library but is really just two floors of a building of several other thing that has some books and a librarian. They also have way less books and articles available than other schools, including schools that are a fraction of the size. They claim budget cuts for the lack of a library.

Depending on your program you'll be told you get "electives" but they offer so few classes you have no choice but to take whatever there is, even if you choose a certain track to avoid specific classes you don't want to take. Just know you'll be taking those classes. They may even cancel classes that are required for you to graduate.

Overall, don't go here. It's probably great if you're a student athlete though since all they really care about is sports and getting as much money as they can from their students.

Great University with Great Professors. Costs are high, luckily i had a family member working for them so i got free tuition and it worked out, otherwise it would have been impossible to go here. Graduated in May 2017.

The most illiterate college in the country, hands down.

Pretty campus. Came here for a softball game. The gate guards are pretty much useless though. So be prepared to navigate yourself around, Copernicus.

The campus is beautiful, always filled with luxurious flowers and trees. They have fountains and many things to do on campus. But Financial Aid Office isn't much help, the advisors are rude and the dormitories are less than savory. The elevators are always having problems, it takes a while before they replace the filters in the water dispensers. Montigoris Dining Hall is a real waste of money. You pay $57,000 a year but you can't have your friends over. There's always some criminal act on campus. Public Safety lets you know about robberies but not deaths. A whole kid died in a dorm, from an allergic reaction. And Public Safety told his friends he was fine, knowing that he died.
Basically, if you have the money to waste and you'd like to, you can. But if you can't afford it and you actually want an education totally geared towards your career (and not years of filler classes to give them more money) go to another college.

Beautiful school. My granddaughter attending there is a freshman this year. Wish all the best.

Fantastic University campus in new york. As in the movies ... how much difference compared to Italy. Just see the park and the squirrels

It's definitely a good school. Most of the school, (especially concerning its social life), is what you make of it. I'd definitely recommend it.

I arrived at the campus in a car and found a good parking spot. The hard part was trying to walk to an off-campus shop to grab a snack; walkable entrance-exit doors are really hard to find!

This is a comprehensive university and a major university in the United States. It is a good choice for studying abroad.

They're still disorganized. They were disorganized upon visiting and after being accepted.

They're not friendly or helpful at all.

You'd think that it would be different once you make a commitment.

They sent an email telling you to go once place and when you get here it's somewhere totally different.

The security guard at the booth told us where to go.

Then they have people standing that's supposed to guide you where you should be going. Those are students.

They're just standing around.

You'd think they'd be friendly and nice.

I know when we came here my daughter was turned off. She shadowed a student in a physics class and the professor was talking to himself. The students were using social media and streaming music and movies.

Mind you, she had already gotten in the school and was trying to decide if she wanted to come here.

Being a Catholic school, you'd think they'd be more outgoing but they're just like Fordham. They don't give a damn and want your money.



They shut down Reading Terminal for every orientation session.

They even had two subway cars designated just for them to ride to Center City.

The school had all of this setup before we even got there.

If you know that you're going to have people going upstairs tell the people which floor you're going to so that people have the option to use the stairs or elevators.

Don't just say follow me we're going upstairs and there's the elevator. I guess the magic crystal ball will tell you where to go.

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

If you're considering St. John's, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. You'll thank me later unless you want to be at a disheveled, unorganized place.

Don t apply to the pa program if you don t go to St. John s undergrad. Kept my application fee and I never got a decision.

Best pharmacy school in New York with amazing faculty.

I am a sophomore international student. This school is very poor. Don't come. The dean of the business school discriminates against the students. Some language teachers specifically let you, but another year, maybe not because your grades are not good, it is to see You are upset, the estimates of the previous comments are dragging, mainly to see the comments behind, very real! To repair 6 philosophies, 6 philosophies, very crowded, you can play with you, don't come, I have already transferred, don't come

When I was a younger I like very much the university queen it was very interesting

I graduated four times there and I want to go back for a fifth time. I studied Secondary English and School Administration. I received my AA, BA, MSinEd and PD. I want to return for my doctorate. The Education program is outstanding. It is an EXCELLENT university. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is truly serious about getting good a superb education. The campus is a beautiful place as well. I am so glad and proud that I am a member of the alumni.

One of the best schools of Higher education, some young people will complain about the dorms and how they can not bring their friends over or about how much money their parents expend in their education, unfortunately most people will not appreciate what their folks are doing for them, instead they are focus in how much party they can obtain by living for first time on their own .... the focus here is EDUCATION,people!!!...and now that we are all in track and in the same page, i will say St John's University ROCKS!!!....one of the best institutions of higher education, excellent professors, classrooms, book stores, library, and many Quiet places to study.... yes indeed is pricy but it worth every penny you will expend or your parents expend or the VA will pay if you are a Military Veteran ... I totally recommend this University, IF you looking for one of the education instead of looking to party with your friends of course .....

Beautiful campus (I mean, the students' tuition dollars are paying for the upkeep, lol), but for students who don't come from well to do backgrounds, it's almost impossible to finish here.

Two students I know attended this school, and student loans were doled out to them for their 1st year. However for their 2nd year it was a hassle and a problem. If you have family who can cosign on your $40K+ loan for just that one year, you can attend. If not, you are on your own and out on your butt. Given, this can happen at any private university or college though, as this is mainly a problem with the loan companies.

However, it is up to the school what the tuition costs will be, and it's out of reach for many students who don't have cosigners. Those 2 former students went their different paths in life. I myself would not attend unless I had a ton of scholarship money to help me out, if not a full-ride academic or sports scholarship.

Commuting here is a different experience than to dorm here. Hired for work in the field I studied for before I graduated from an employer I met at a job fair on campus. Didn't like that they pulled out a school loan on my account instead of waiting for my GI Bill to be processed by the VA, which was guaranteed money for the school anyway
