A local passion project that has the potential to be a community and New England industry icon. The charm, and potential of this little gem of a theater (almost 100 years in the making) is being revived and renewed with heart and it deserves every chance to grow and contribute.

Owner showed us around and gave us a tour when the theater had no shows going on! Incredibly kind and knowledgeable and told us about all the upcoming events!

Went to see a play that my friend was in (bless me father) and I was really happy with their covid rules and happy that they were open. Very clean, cool, and spacey. 10/10 would go back

You should check out the offerings at the Strand, it's not a cookie-cutter type of venue. There is music, theater, shows, dancing.

The movie nights at the Strand are AWESOME! It's a trip back in time a decade or two, but a great place to bring the older kids to experience 80s classics on the big screen. No RPX, no Dolby 7.0, no 3D, but definitely worth the $5 ticket. We're going tonight, as a matter of fact.

I love coming to this place! The staff is so kind and the feel is authentic and real. It's a beautiful mix of the rich history and old-timey feel of the Strand with just the right touch of modern. It's got a ways to go before perfection, but every little bit, perfect or imperfect, are what makes the Strand such a unique and satisfying experience.

My husband and I rented the Stand last November for our wedding reception and it was absolutely perfect! Dan and Melissa were dedicated to make our vision a reality and came up with really fun and creative ways to build off it. We wanted a fun relaxed party with simple consession foods, music, and use of the projector for our wedding ceremony video. Everything came together perfect and easy! The space is beautiful. The popcorn is seriously the best I ve ever had. And the space is very reasonably priced and they do not price gouge you like most wedding venues! If you are looking for a non traditional location for a wedding ceremony, reception, or for any party, we highly recommend The Strand. We still have guests telling us it was the best wedding they ever attended!

The Strand has been saved by a wonderful owner who enjoys entertainment. He has provided an ongoing venue that builds upon the previous year adding new types of entertainment to the Dover New Hampshire downtown City. Unique by its own Style, you'll see theater, comedy, old standard movies, dance classes, musicians and musicals offered to the Dover Community at a reasonable price. I love the Strand Theater.

Fun place for inexpensive entertainment. The building is 100 years old so set your expectations accordingly. Seating was comfortable with very good viewing.
