Spears BBQ and Grill

We had dinner here in the summer. It was very quiet and we had great service. The house roasted potatoes were fantastic, excellent baked trout, good burgers, and several good local drafts. What really shone was the outdoor seating - really nicely done and well kept. Quaint garden atmosphere with shade, nicely decorated deck, and well maintained grounds. Check them out.

Went out for a ride from Boone. Stopped in for a bite. Their was 3 of us, 2 ordered bbq chicken and the waitress, who was sweet, said they didn't have any. The 3rd ordered bar b q ribs. They didn't have any. So we said let us look at menu again, which is a small menu to choose from. Then one ordered chicken wings, she said we don't have any. This was around 2:00. Shouldn't a restaurant be prepared better than that? We got up and left. Nice place, but was not impressed! Prices were a little high too! We'll take Woodlands from now on!

This is a wonderful BBQ restaurant that we found after visiting Linville Falls. When we passed, the smell of the BBQ smoke just lured us in. My wife and I both had BBQ sandwiches. The sandwiches are large with a lot of meat and the meat is super tender. They serve fresh vegetables also. Do yourself a favor and order the baked beans, awesome. The service was great. We sat outside under the covered patio. They have a full service bar inside. You must stop here and eat.

Food was alright, but service was awful. We had a party of 7 and were there over two hours, we only ordered appetizers, which arrived in decent time. We never got a refill on any of our drinks even tho we asked multiple times. Waitress only came by the table once or twice and we had to flag her down to get her attention. Waited 20+ minutes for the bill and eventually had to go inside to pay since we wasted so much time waiting. Won't be coming back.

Great food and extra friendly staff. Service was amazing. Nice prices and selection on the menu. I am a vegetarian, my husband a huge meat eater, and my daughter has a dairy allergy. We easily found multiple things we could all enjoy on the menu.

What a great place! Dog friendly too. Stopped there for lunch before going to Linville Winery. The tacos were delicious... A big meal we split with some onion rings. The patio dining was very nice; nice flowers and shade. Our waitress was very nice.

The soup is amazing, the bbq to die for, the staff is super friendly. Spears is a great compliment to the area.

Stopped in on a early August Saturday afternoon. The beer was very cold. My burger was cooked perfectly and tasted great. My husband's seafood platter was also delicious with good sides. The service was good but it was a slow time. I would gladly visit again.

BIG SHOUT OUT TO BLAKE for making the worlds best tomato basil soup! The food is fresh and its so good. The tomato basil soup is the best ive ever had and to my surprise its homemade and all fresh ingredients! My spouse ordered the table rock burger and he as well loved it! The pie was amazing as well and perfect for a birthday desert!!! The entire staff is amazing! I highly suggest visting this place! I will be returning again!

Great food! Adult toasted cheese sandwich rocks as well as their burgers. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
