Snowdon Deli means serious business! Everyone is head over heels for Schwart s, but it doesn t come close to the service, abondance, quality, confort, menu options and parking that Snowdon Deli has to offer. Try the Smoke Meat Poutine, it s certainly worth the visite.

One day when I was having lunch there I had asked for Dr.Browns cream soda an they had none, whilst they had about every other Dr.Browns drink. I ordered half of a smoked meat sandwich, cold, no mustard; it was very delicious, but it had an extreme amount of smoked meat on it.

One of my go to places for a traditional deli experience! Smoked meat is among the best in the city, and I love their kreplach soup and Greek salad with the Greek dressing (whatever is in that dressing is perfect). My go to dish is the smoked meat Benedict; which in my opinion is the best Benedict in the city, having amazing hollandaise sauce and succulent smoked meat. Definite must go!

You can step back in time to experience a classic Montreal deli that has changed very little over my lifetime. Some greats are gone, like the Brown Derby in the Van Horne Shopping Centre, but Snowdon Deli endures. A must visit if you are on an eating tour of Jewish Montreal, which should also include Schwartz's and Wilenski's Light Lunch.

Expect a gruff waitress to casually serve you the best smoked meat sandwich you've ever had. A far cry from Schwartz's hit and miss, often dry and overrated smoked meat that you have to wait in long lines for. Can't believe I lived 5 minutes away from for 10 years and only went for the first time after moving to Toronto.

one of the best smokemeat in Montreal. fast and efficient service. tasty and quality sandwich. Their classic smoked meat recipe is super good, note that they make 2 versions of smoked meats. The counter for meat and other take out is great. good atmosphere and very reasonable price.

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant and deli for the past year. The first time we went there, my husband had asked one of the gentleman behind the deli counter if they sold pork. He was extremely offended and told him that they did not have pork whatsoever in this restaurant. Which is fine because we do not eat pork. We trusted them and ever since we've been getting our salami from there.

We went back today and we wanted to order some different style of salami. The other gentleman behind the counter sliced a piece for us to try, while my husband was telling him that we do not eat pork and how we went to a different butcher and they sell pork, and this is why we come to this place. After we had eaten it, he told us that it had pork! We told him that his colleague told us they do not sell pork. He then said that this type of salami has pork in it. We are extremely disappointed that we trusted them for the past year and we were lied to. We will not be going back there.

One of the last true Jewish delicatessens left in Montreal. The smoked meat sandwich is copious (forget ordering lean meat...go for the medium or full fat!), the fish is great, chicken soup and knaidlach is what you would expect......after all it is a deli! Don't forget that it is closed on Friday nights and all day Saturday.

20 years living in the area and I've neglected to have weekend brunch at this Montreal institution. To begin with its not to busy, a good crowd that turns over without the place becoming a zoo which is typical for Montreal weekend brunch. Omelette, bagel, beef sausage, and pancakes were really good. Take the time to check out this place if you haven't already.

Smoked meat poutine was AMAZING! Not stingy on the meat or cheese. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is so comfy :) We were served by Vanni and he was such a sweetheart. He hooked us up with some yummy pastries...thank you! Vicky was very helpful in pointing out some local attractions and places to go. What a great place to check out while visiting.

The menu has a lot of variety, including some vegetarian options. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff are friendly. I love the blintzes and the whitefish salad.. Most dishes are huge portions, so you may end up taking some home. Or if you're not very hungry, many of the appetizers are generous.

I like it lots and it's a great, real deli. However i dont understand why people crack up for these guys above The Main Steakhouse or other choices. I find their smoked Meat okay, not great. The babka and the ensemble of options though make this a great choice regardless.
