It was the worst refinance I have ever done. The Info is endless that they keep requesting. And you end up being handed over to so many different people. I have very good credit also. It was a huge headache and I will never use them again.

They were very patient and informative, which was great since we're relatively new home owners and aren't very familiar with the refinance process. Applied for a 15 year refinance, paid for appraisal. Have excellent credit, and was strung along by Jessie Pachen and underwriters at Smarter Mortgages for 2 months after seemingly endless requests for additional documents before being told at the 11th hour that they needed to up the rates considerably. It was the last straw after a series of bad news on our loan application that trickled in over a long time period. We decided to go elsewhere for refinance.

If you value your time, and expect to be dealt with in a professional manner, save yourself a lot of aggravation - look elsewhere if you need to refinance! We are very dissastisfied with Smarter Mortgages. Wasted 2 months going back and forth.

Unless you are doing something 100% out of the box, this is not the company to select. I was looking for a loan on a larger piece of property, informed them (Debbie Foley, one of the VP's of the organization) of this right up front and sent them the purchase contract. They took my deposit, had me waist a week (and of course rates went up) only to have underwriting come back and say they could not provide a loan on the type of property. Will cost me thousands of dollars over the term of my loan, because they don't know the product they are selling or what they can and cannot do. I was informed that I would see my full deposit back, and ultimately they reduced the refund with fees that provided me nothing. Avoid
