I just finished brewing the Citra Warrior kit from Small Batch Brewery and Hop Farm, and it’s a fantastic choice for beginners. The beer came out so well that my friends who tried it actually preferred it over some of the craft beers we usually drink, which is huge for a first-time homebrew. I’m really enjoying the quality so far. The only hiccup was the auto-siphon. Like another reviewer mentioned, it struggled with the smaller volumes in this kit. You have to submerge it quite deep to get the liquid moving, which often stirs up the sediment and ruins clarity when transferring or bottling. I eventually tossed the auto-siphon, tried a water-filled tube method (which wasted a lot of wort), and finally bought a small diaphragm pump and some food-grade silicone tubing for around $50. That upgrade made the whole transfer process a million times smoother. It would be great if this kit came with a small transfer pump as an option in the future. Aside from that minor gear issue, it’s a top-notch kit with a great recipe.
