I recently visited a museum and was quite disappointed with the exhibits. The museum had potential, but it fell short in many areas. The lack of information and poorly designed displays made it hard to fully appreciate the artifacts. The company should make some improvements before I consider visiting again.

Sloan*longway is an average company. The exhibits were interesting, but the overall experience was just okay. I expected more from a company with such a reputation. The staff was friendly, but the museum lacked a wow factor. I don't think I will be visiting again.

Sloan*longway: Engaging Communities in History and Science

Sloan*longway is a non-profit organization that aims to engage communities in history and science through its two main attractions, the Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium. Located in Flint, Michigan, Sloan*longway is funded in part by the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage funds, which means that your tax dollars are at work to support this educational institution.

At Sloan Museum, visitors can explore the rich history of Genesee County through interactive exhibits that showcase everything from Native American artifacts to vintage automobiles. The museum's permanent collection includes over 60,000 objects that tell the story of Flint's past and present. In addition to its permanent exhibits, Sloan Museum also hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year on a variety of topics.

Longway Planetarium offers visitors a chance to explore the wonders of space through its state-of-the-art planetarium theater. With a 60-foot dome and seating for up to 129 people, Longway Planetarium provides an immersive experience that takes visitors on a journey through our solar system and beyond. The planetarium also offers educational programs for all ages on topics such as astronomy, space exploration, and more.

But Sloan*longway isn't just about providing educational experiences for individuals; it's also committed to engaging with communities as a whole. Through partnerships with local schools and organizations, Sloan*longway brings its programming out into the community so that everyone has access to high-quality educational opportunities.

One example of this community engagement is Sloan*longway's "Museum Without Walls" program. This initiative brings museum exhibits directly into local schools so that students can learn about history and science without ever leaving their classrooms. By making education more accessible in this way, Sloan*longway is helping to level the playing field for students who might not otherwise have access to these resources.

Another way that Sloan*longway engages with communities is through its "After Dark" series at Longway Planetarium. These events offer adults an opportunity to enjoy an evening under the stars while learning about astronomy from experts in the field. With themes like "Beer & Astronomy" or "Wine & Stars," these events are both fun and informative โ€“ perfect for date night or a night out with friends.

Overall, what sets Sloan*longway apart from other museums or planetariums is its commitment not just to educating individuals but also engaging entire communities in learning journeys around history and science topics they may not have had access before!
