The SLO Blues Baseball: A Summer Collegiate Baseball Organization
The SLO Blues are a wooden bat, Summer Collegiate Baseball Organization that competes yearly from the end of May through August. The team is based in San Luis Obispo, California and has been providing top-notch baseball entertainment to fans for over 70 years.
The organization was founded in 1946 and has since then become a staple of the San Luis Obispo community. The team is made up of college players from all over the country who come together to play competitive baseball during their summer break. This provides an opportunity for these young athletes to hone their skills while also giving fans a chance to watch some exciting baseball.
The SLO Blues have a rich history and have seen many talented players come through their ranks. Some notable alumni include MLB All-Stars Robin Ventura, Kevin Correia, and Aaron Rowand. These players got their start with the SLO Blues before going on to achieve great success at higher levels of competition.
One thing that sets the SLO Blues apart from other summer collegiate teams is their commitment to using wooden bats instead of aluminum ones. This not only makes for a more traditional style of play but also helps prepare players for professional careers where wooden bats are used exclusively.
