The library's name "Skidompha" comes from a Native American word meaning "sky water," which refers to rain or snow. The name reflects the library's commitment to providing a wealth of knowledge and resources that nourish the mind like rain or snow nourishes the earth.
Skidompha Library offers a wide range of services for people of all ages. The library has an extensive collection of books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, audiobooks, e-books, and other materials that cover various topics such as history, science fiction/fantasy novels & stories for children & adults alike. Skidompha also provides access to online databases such as Ancestry.com for genealogy research.
In addition to its collection of materials Skidompha Library also offers programs designed to promote literacy and lifelong learning in our community.
