Are you looking for a winter wonderland where you can ski or snowboard to your heart's content? Look no further than Ski Sundown in New Hartford, CT. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, Ski Sundown has something for everyone.
Located in the picturesque Litchfield Hills of Connecticut, Ski Sundown is a family-owned and operated ski resort that has been providing winter fun since 1964. With 16 trails spread across 70 acres of skiable terrain, Ski Sundown offers plenty of variety for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
Beginners will love the gentle slopes on the learning area, which features two magic carpets and a handle tow. Once you've mastered the basics, move on to some of the easier green runs like Easy Street or Lower Lift Line. Intermediate skiers will enjoy cruising down blue runs like Gunbarrel or Tom's Treats. And if you're an expert looking for a challenge, check out black diamond runs like Satan's Stairway or Widowmaker.
But skiing and snowboarding aren't the only things to do at Ski Sundown. The resort also offers tubing on six lanes with two lifts to take you back up to the top. It's perfect for families with young children who may not be ready to hit the slopes yet but still want to experience some winter fun.
When it comes time to take a break from all that skiing and snowboarding (or tubing), head inside to warm up by one of three fireplaces in our lodge. Grab some food at our cafeteria-style restaurant or relax with a drink at our bar while enjoying views of the mountain through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Ski Sundown also offers lessons for both skiing and snowboarding taught by experienced instructors who are passionate about helping people learn how to enjoy these sports safely and confidently. Private lessons are available as well as group lessons for adults and children ages four years old and up.
If you're looking for gear rentals, Ski Sundown has got you covered there too! Our rental shop carries everything from skis/snowboards/boots/poles/helmets/goggles/gloves/jackets/pants/etc., so there's no need to worry about bringing your own equipment if it’s not convenient!
