The food was amazing.

Excellent outdoor activity centre. They can cater for individuals or large groups of people whether it be families, schools etc. You can try surfing, kayaking, abseiling, archery, assault course, climbing, high ropes, zip wire, rafting, swimming, orienteering, tunnels, crate stacking the list goes on! There is on site residential stay and they can even cater for birthday parties, stag/hen do's and even wedding receptions!

This is a truly fantastic outdoor centre! I've been coming for at least 10 years with a variety of groups and we have always had an amazing time! The staff are superb and I guarantee that you will be very well looked after, be well fed and have a lot of fun!

Staff are brilliant, supportive and knowledgeable. The activities are well constructed for learning and fun. Everyone's abilities are considered. The food and accommodation are also good with consideration being given to recycling and sustainability. Had a great time there in superb surrounding especially along the coast.

What a great time we had! From our first call to Skern Lodge to the time we left, our experience has been fantastic.

We booked over the telephone and Andrea who answered my call was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. On arrival, our group was welcomed professionally and time was taken to make sure everyone was accommodated for.

Our instructor Andy was professional, friendly and a lot of fun with all the members of the group. He was especially helpful with my 10 year old son, changing the challenges to suit his abilities and encouraging him to do more than he thought he could!

Everyone came away from the day having had a great time and we all had challenged ourselves is some way. We also had a great sense of achievement.

Really good place for activities and stay for groups between the ages 10 - 19 years old. Very friendly staff and excellent facilities. Spent three days of both water based activities and land based with 18/19 year olds who loved it. Added bonus of having private pool sessions.

Took the U11s on rugby tour about 3 weeks ago. It was great. The staff could not have done more. Super friendly team, well organised. Activities were focused around team building and were fun for both the lads and the dads! Perfect for a weekend with this type of group. Will consider a re-run next year as there are plenty more activities to try. If we don t make it down again I have already recommended to the other age groups at the club. Thanks to all the staff for a fantastic trip.

It is the best ever place ever ever ever.
I went here for my 2 nights in y6 and loved it. I had awesome instructors, Alex, Dan and mr fishy (Ed!) I loved it and they made my stay the best it could be.

Had a fantastic day our canoeing with Skern with my eleven year old. Well organised and the leaders were very knowledgeable and we felt like we were in safe hands despite some interesting weather whilst doing it!

Absolutely amazing experience- great communication beforehand and answered our questions and Alex was a friendly instructor who looked after us so well . I had not kayaked before so wasn t sure what to expect but it was so much fun- and Alex made you feel safe and I enjoyed going into the water and bobbing around - trying both the larger kayak and the single a great family activity - pretty scenery as well - thank you so much . PS wetsuits kept us warm and were not smelly ( having hired from other places which were whiffy it was nice to have dry clean wet suits too ) ....

Very fun with lots of activities such as combat course, underground tunnels, hike routes, kayaking. Accomodation on site. Food was not good

They don t help you when it s windy down the beach surfing

Friendly, knowledgeable and professional team accross the whole centre! Beautiful location, lots to do on offer. Perfect for family days out or group residentials. Absolutely reccommend!

Took a group of young people who say they had the most wonderful time and experiences at skern lodge. Thank you all for being so accommodating to us but most importantly for really working with our young people, providing them with such wonderful activities for 5 days. Alex you will be missed by all of them!

Good quality accomodation for a dormitory based activity centre. Nothing to complain about food wise either - good choice at breakfast, reasonable snack lunches, and tasty main meals in the evening. Staff were really friendly and helpful, equipment was good quality and we'll maintained, and activities were well organised and instructors made you feel safe and secure.

We had a wonderful day! Our instructor (Andy) was brilliant with our children and made us all feel really comfortable. The kayaking was our favourite but everything we did was great fun. Definitely going to go again soon!

I really liked it a lot in Devon because when we arrived in I was totally nervous it was my very first time and until I got alright like getting used to it and doing activities it's so good and I like the weather apart from the cold. I just loved it and I really want to come back again with my lovely keyworker Kirsty bunker.

Hands down the best Residential location in the country. Having taken a group of Year 6 children to various Residential centres over the last 4 years, I can honestly say that Skern Lodge is without a doubt the best in the country.
The high level of care given to you by the incredibly helpful and engaging instructors beats anything you could hope to get from a PGL, Kingswood or other more mainstream residential provider. The food was excellent, rooms brilliant and the location is simply marvellous, offering a range of different opportunities for the kids.
I look forward to returning next year with another group of Year 6 children!

Lots and lots of fun you will love it long drive but totes worth it

Family of 4 (2 kids age 7 and 8) did an afternoon session on the river kayak @low tide. What a fantastic experience! Our instructor Jamie was brilliant, taking us through shipwreck's. I couldn't recommend them and the activity enough.

I had the opportunity to visit this place twice while studying Public Services course with OCVC/City of Oxford College and I have to say the tutors we been given here are outstanding.They absolutely love what they are doing and it was clearly visible to all of us.

We had a wonderful time when we had opportunities to get some ''Boots on the ground experience'' with a majority of different activities which was entertaining.

Great place for week of adventure, plenty of quality activities and decent accommodations. I can only judge breakfast, which was nice. The activities are very enjoyable, surfing and high ropes the highlights for me, and the staff are fantastic and kind. Would recommend to all.

It was amazing. The best trip I've ever been on. The activities were great, as well as the instructors. I think what makes it so good is that everybody can get involved, even if you are unsure or nervous about the activities, the instructors encourage you, but don't push you to make you feel uncomfortable. I wish I could go again!

Great activity centre. My 8yr old son went on an activity day in October were he did kayaking, an assult course and archery. The staff were fab!

Hosting a group of 90 young people for 5 days is no easy task. The staff and facilities at skern lodge are outstanding and make it look easy.

Had an amazing day here!!! Very good value for money and great activities. We did a private day of activities for 5. Our instructor Aaron was great, very friendly and made us feel safe. Particularly enjoyed kayaking and high ropes. Highly reccomend Skern Lodge.

My son and I had a great time kayaking. The instructors made you feel really safe and were a lot of fun. We will definitely be doing this again. Facilities and staff at Skern Lodge were amazing.

A fantastic centre. I visited recently as a teacher with my school and it is the best residential centre I've been to. The rooms are clean and well-equipped and linens are provided. The children's rooms are a good size and don't require too large a group, which can sometimes cause issues. The food is excellent and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves at every meal. The adult instructors are brilliant and really know their stuff. I'm very impressed with Skern.

Great staff very professional would recommend to anyone

I stayed here for 4 days and really enjoyed my stay. The room was reasonably sized and we were lucky enough to have an very nice en suite.

The food was much better than expected and I was pleasantly surprised at the range of dishes as both breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with both vegetarian and halal options. The staff also provided lots of information into what allergens each dish might contain. At breakfast there was a full English breakfast available, with a veggie option, a wide selection of cereals and yougurts and toast. Lunch consisted to two rolls of your choice, ranging from turkey, to beef, to jam and sausage, to name a few. You also received multiple 'extras', such as fruit, crisps and cereal bars. At dinner, there was often 3 or even 4 options to choose from, which was great, and a wide choice of salads.

The shop/bar was slightly expensive but the 'bartender' was very nice. There was also lots of other leisure activities available in the evenings, such as table tennis, giant Jenga, pool and table football.

The staff were extremely friendly and everyone really liked them. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

We booked for the day as a family and had a blast. Sophie was patient with us all, particularly my son. Was great fun. Will definitely book with them again.

Really lovely place and lovely instructors! My son has just been on an adventure week with instructor Matt and absolutely loved it. He's looking forward to coming again next year as well as his younger brother!

The activities are amazing they are so much fun for everyone and there are lots of them.

It is in an amazing place with beautiful views and a fascinating history.

But what let s it down is the food, the food is atrocious and really is what gives it a 3 star instead of a 4 or 5.

Fabulous fun for the children. Setting is beautiful.

Had a great time and instructor was lovely! Shower block needs a bench and hooks!
