As a homeschooling family at Simply Charlotte Mason, we recently integrated *A Castle with Many Rooms* into our curriculum, and the results have been fantastic. Between my energetic toddler and two older students (grades 6 and 8), having the PDF maps included with the purchase was a game-changer. My 6th grader, who usually finds Charlotte Mason narration techniques challenging, has seen significant improvement after a few weeks of adapting to the book. The accompanying narration note cards were another great addition; they saved me from the tedious task of recording all the historical dates myself. By supplementing with *Famous Men of the Middle Ages* and other individual reads, we’ve found this core text provides a strong foundation that could easily stand alone for elementary-level world history. It’s been a huge success for our family’s history studies this year.

As a homeschooling mother of six, with two children already graduated, I’ve tried many math programs that were decent but lacked depth. Simply Charlotte Mason’s approach is a revelation. It transforms math into something meaningful and deeply connected to real life, which has been transformative for my daughter who has always struggled with the subject. She thrived on the conceptual understanding and practical scenarios. It’s such a perfect fit that I’m now eagerly introducing it to my two youngest. You can really feel Richelle Baburina’s passion for the Charlotte Mason community in her work. This is a true treasure for any family looking to embrace CM principles at home.

Finally found a math solution that works! As the parent of a third child who is my first to really struggle with this subject, we had tried countless programs that left us both frustrated. Since we rely on Charlotte Mason methods for almost everything else, I decided to test it for math. The results have been amazing. My daughter is now comfortable during lessons and actually applies math in her daily life. She enjoys it so much that one of her older siblings asked to switch to this curriculum just to experience the same joy. Highly recommend!

I stumbled upon Simply Charlotte Mason while looking for math resources that went beyond simple worksheets, and it felt like a divine connection. I currently have the first two books, and they have completely revolutionized how my second grader approaches math. Even my first grader, who usually loves worksheets, was hooked as soon as we started using real coins—it was a game-changer! This curriculum has truly been a blessing for our family, so much so that I’m definitely buying the rest of the set. Great work, Richele!

I’ve been relying on Simply Charlotte Mason for a few years now, and it has completely transformed how I handle our daily routine. It’s genuinely the best scheduling tool I’ve found; the date-based approach gives me peace of mind and eliminates that nagging feeling of being "behind." I recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable system and plan to use it right up until my youngest graduates. Kudos to the team for putting together such an incredible resource!

Simply Charlotte Mason has truly nailed the presentation with their Elementary Arithmetic Series. It is visually stunning and has been a game-changer for our family, as both my girls have engaged with the material much more effectively than before. A huge thank you to the SCM team for making these beautiful resources available as e-books. For us, living outside the US, the shipping costs on physical books can be steep, so this digital option is incredibly thoughtful and appreciated.

Simply Charlotte Mason has been a game-changer for our family. We started with the lowercase program and have now transitioned to the uppercase course, and the results have been wonderful. The video instruction is straightforward and easy to follow. It is incredible to see how much our children’s penmanship has improved, and my own handwriting has gotten better too. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to cultivate beautiful handwriting.

I nearly passed on this book due to comparisons with "Good Pictures, Bad Pictures," but I decided to investigate on my own after ordering from Simply Charlotte Mason. I’m glad I did! After flipping through a few pages, I noticed a few exposed body parts. To provide context, the image shows people around a fire preparing food for survival in an impoverished region. Since our children understand that God made our bodies good and they should be used rightly, I simply used a bit of painter’s tape to cover those specific spots and continued. The book is beautifully designed, and I look forward to exploring its content with my family, broadening our perspective beyond our limited American experience.

Print to Cursive was a game-changer for my son, who has dyslexia and found the jump from printing to cursive writing quite challenging. This resource made a world of difference for us. I’m truly grateful that my path crossed with Simply Charlotte Mason. Their curriculum is fantastic, with a beautiful Christ-centered approach that I highly recommend to anyone looking for quality educational materials. A big thanks for the wonderful resources and those inspiring podcasts that have been such a guide for our family.

I’ve spent years looking for a math program that doesn’t complicate things, and Simply Charlotte Mason’s Arithmetic Series has been exactly what we needed. My son is almost finished with Book 4, and we’re really enjoying the straightforward approach. Does anyone know when Book 5 might be released? I’d also love any other recommendations for keeping his momentum going in the meantime!

We’ve just begun Book 3, having started from Book 1, and I’m thoroughly impressed. The moment we tackled division at the end of Book 2, I knew this curriculum was right for us. It felt like a natural progression rather than a daunting new hurdle, largely because the multiplication foundations were so solid. My daughter now enjoys mental math and is doing quite well with it. After two decades of homeschooling, Simply Charlotte Mason is hands down my favorite math program. Highly recommended!

This poetry collection is a wonderful addition to our home education routine. As a family with children ranging from preschool to pre-teen, we have found these poems engaging for all ages. The weather-themed selections are particularly delightful. I also value the side notes that clarify obscure references and define vocabulary. It has been rewarding to watch the poems stick through repetition; even my five-year-old can now recite "Something Left Undone." This resource has truly helped us cultivate a love for poetry, making our weekly reading sessions feel like a familiar visit with a friend.

I can’t recommend Simply Charlotte Mason enough. This was the first time my ten-year-old daughter tried hands-on craft video lessons, and she absolutely loved them. We started back in early January, watching the intro and gathering supplies as a winter project. Rebecca, the instructor, has such a warm, big-sister vibe that kept my daughter engaged. She learned the first stitch style slowly and comfortably. After a few weeks of consistent practice, my daughter went from fumbling with the yarn to knitting daily during our family read-aloud time. She’s nearly finished a scarf that will be perfect for the chilly early spring. It’s an ideal series for beginners, offering practical projects that really work.

Years of educational drifting finally led me to the Charlotte Mason approach for mathematics, and I truly regret not finding it earlier. My eldest child has always been able to perform written three-digit addition and subtraction but still relies on counting fingers for simple mental sums like 14-10. Meanwhile, my middle daughter despises rote worksheets and thrives on hands-on learning. Navigating the options for the Simply Charlotte Mason curriculum felt overwhelming at first—I questioned whether I could successfully teach this way—but I ultimately purchased the first two math books for my seven- and nine-year-olds, with plans to add them for my five-year-old soon. As someone who was repeatedly told I wasn’t “good at math” and carried that belief through school and college, reading through these resources brought tears to my eyes. The logic is clear and intuitive; I realize now that I wasn’t lacking ability, just the right method. I am determined to stop accepting that old label, and I won’t let my girls inherit it either. These lessons feel like a breath of fresh air for both of us. Having already loved the language arts materials from Simply Charlotte Mason, I can’t wait to dive into math. Thank you for creating such thoughtful resources. God bless!

We’ve been using the Simply Charlotte Mason cursive book for about half a year now with my eight-year-old, meeting twice a week. It’s become a wonderful addition to our homeschooling routine. Thanks, SCM!

We tried Simply Charlotte Mason materials for our son’s fifth-grade year, and the results were great despite the initial learning curve. While some of the reading passages are quite long and the rock-focused book wasn’t his favorite to start with, it definitely sparked his curiosity—he ended up genuinely interested in the subject by the time he finished. He had to adjust to the higher expectations at first, but he gained a lot from the experience and eventually came to enjoy the curriculum. He is now tackling Berean Builders Science in the Atomic Age with audio support and handling it well. Based on this success, I’m looking forward to using Exploring What God has Made again with my incoming sixth grader next year. I have a feeling it will be a breeze for her since every child is different!

I’ve been using the CM Organizer from Simply Charlotte Mason for years, and it’s completely changed my approach to homeschooling. Even though I’m a huge fan of paper planners and physical books, I’m never going back. The old method was such a hassle—constantly adjusting schedules and moving missed lessons around was frustrating and time-consuming. With this digital tool, I just plug in my resources, and the system handles the rest. If we miss a history lesson one day, it seamlessly slots it into the next available history slot automatically. It truly does the heavy lifting for me. I absolutely love it!

As a parent who loves the Charlotte Mason method, I found this resource from Simply Charlotte Mason to be incredibly practical. The ability to match the cursive style to my own handwriting was a game-changer; it eliminates the "but the book says..." debates with my kids since they see the same script daily. I also really appreciate the thoughtful design that transitions from larger to smaller print, unlike other workbooks that keep the font size static. My only minor critique is the lack of a dashed center line for beginners. Since my son is still working on letter proportions, I often have to supplement with separate practice sheets. Still, a solid 4-star resource for anyone looking to refine their copywork routine.

Having just started my homeschool journey, I was feeling overwhelmed trying to manage all the different books and keep track of who was reading what. Simply Charlotte Mason’s organizer has turned that stress into something much more manageable and even enjoyable. It’s incredibly helpful for the kids to see the daily schedule at a glance, and the visual aids are perfect for the ones who can’t read yet, showing them exactly what to expect next. I’m so grateful for this resource!

I debated purchasing Simply Charlotte Mason materials because the format seemed easy enough to DIY. I tried, but ultimately, paying for the curriculum was a smart move to save time and effort. The lessons are straightforward and perfectly pitched for my son, avoiding any overwhelm. Having the PDF version is a huge plus, as I can easily print copies for all four of my children.

I am completely in love with the Charlotte Mason approach and everything Simply Charlotte Mason has provided for our family. I first heard about CM through a YouTube review and was instantly intrigued; it wasn’t long before I discovered Sonya and the Simply Charlotte Mason team everywhere I looked. Their podcasts and videos offered such clarity on this beautiful, faith-centered way of living and learning. I rely on all the resources and curriculum lessons they suggest, and I absolutely cherish the SCM organizer for keeping track of our lessons and documenting what my children are experiencing with living books. Like any new journey, it required patience, but once you get the hang of it, the ease and variety of learning truly shine. Starting with Kindergarten and first grade, my five and six-year-olds were fully engaged and could clearly narrate or illustrate what they had learned. I highly recommend Simply Charlotte Mason to everyone and hope my Abeka friends will consider adding this wonderful method to their curriculum.

We liked this cursive workbook, though I wish it included directional arrows directly within each lesson to show letter formation. While the book does have a reference page at the front with all the arrows, having to flip back and forth to that specific spot for every new lesson feels a bit cumbersome. Overall, it’s a solid resource from Simply Charlotte Mason, earning a 4 out of 5 stars.

As a long-time user of Simply Charlotte Mason, I’ve generally loved their other curriculum kits, so this one really threw me for a loop. I bought the full set, including the Flight DVD and several books my local library didn’t carry, expecting it to fit right into our routine. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for my fifth-grade son. The main issue was the volume of reading. We use SCM for almost everything else, so I was surprised by how dense this kit was. Most readings ran 12-15 pages or more, and many felt incredibly dry. For instance, a list of 20 different rock and mineral names felt tedious rather than engaging. It was frustrating to go from very simple activities, like drawing the first day of creation, to these heavy, boring texts just a few weeks later. Another headache was the evolutionary content. There was a significant amount of it in the first couple of months, and while the teacher’s guide does note where to avoid certain pages, it still required constant pausing. Having to hunt for 3-4 evolutionary references in a single sitting was cumbersome and disrupted the flow of our lessons. If your child needs shorter lessons or books that really capture their interest, I wouldn’t recommend this specific kit. I was left disappointed after having to drop it and switch to a different science program, leaving me with the sunk cost of the materials.

Simply Charlotte Mason was a breath of fresh air for our homeschool. My creative daughter often found it hard to connect with standard, big-name math programs, but she immediately clicked with this curriculum. We initially used the included manipulatives, but when her ADHD kicked in and she was more interested in playing with them than learning, I seamlessly switched to an abacus to keep her engaged. It’s been such a great fit that I’m planning to stick with this curriculum for all her future math education.

I’m completely charmed by this entire curriculum. I can’t wait to dive into the upcoming titles. The "day in the life" segments are definitely the highlight for me. As a musician, I really appreciate how the music units effectively convey musical concepts; it’s a joy to share such high-quality material with my children. We are eager for more volumes since the available composers are running low. Highly recommended!

Simply Charlotte Mason has been a game-changer for our family. After struggling to find the right fit for my kids' math education, we finally found a curriculum that truly clicks. The difference is night and day: my daughter recently declared that the math feels "sent from Heaven," noting that it actually teaches her brain rather than just her hands. She’s grasping the concepts deeply, especially when applying them to real-world scenarios like handling money. It’s clear that this approach demands more involvement from parents compared to other programs we’ve tried, but the payoff is worth it. Seeing both my eight and ten-year-olds not only understand the material but find genuine joy in learning it is incredibly rewarding. Even though they are both working through Book 2, I love how easily the lessons can be tailored so each child can progress at their own pace. I’m already planning to expand our collection with Book 3 and the subsequent levels as they grow.

At five years old, my son already recognized letters and their sounds, so we tried a phonics program that quickly proved to be a poor match. I pushed through the initial section to be fair, but by the end, he was convinced he wasn’t ready to read. We tried dialing it back, but the repetitive letter drills just bored him. That’s when I discovered Simply Charlotte Mason, and the change was immediate. From lesson one through to number 31, he has been absolutely engaged; reading is now his absolute favorite part of homeschooling. It’s fantastic to see him naturally sounding out words in everyday contexts too. I love that the curriculum feels like play, with no tedious worksheets, and the short five-to-ten-minute lessons make it incredibly manageable for us both. Thank you for such a wonderful program!

Simply Charlotte Mason has produced a truly wonderful history book. I first read it to my sons when they were five and seven; even though they didn't grasp every detail, they loved it. Now that they are eight and ten, I am reading it to them again, and they understand and appreciate it even more. The best part is that they actually remember the history from this book.

I started with Simply Charlotte Mason to introduce my neurodivergent son to picture study, and it was a fantastic first step for keeping him engaged. Sonya’s narration is a game-changer for our Charlotte Mason household! Since we do a lot of read-alouds, her soothing voice saves our throat and keeps the whole family engaged. The way she brings Egypt to life with such rich detail makes history stick in my kids’ minds way better than a dry textbook. Highly recommended if you want to deepen your understanding of this era.

We chose Simply Charlotte Mason for our 5th grader. While we started a bit later than ideal, the depth allowed us to dive into topics my son was passionate about, making it a fantastic year for science. I was able to blend in some activities from other unit studies I’d bought earlier, which worked well alongside this curriculum. I really appreciate how the program covers the seven days of creation and reinforces the biblical account of God’s work. Even though I didn’t purchase all the recommended books, we still had an engaging, efficient science year that avoided boring lectures and trivial details.

I was thrilled to find this resource when my six-year-old asked to learn hand sewing, especially since I had zero experience myself. Simply Charlotte Mason’s course made the process so much easier. Rebekah, the instructor, covers all the details thoroughly, even if her pace is occasionally a bit quick. We’ve become quite confident in our stitching skills thanks to this guide, and we’re already excited to start the crochet course next.

I’m thrilled with the Simply Charlotte Mason arithmetic series for my teen daughter, who navigates dyslexia, dysgraphia, and receptive language challenges. She used to struggle deeply with basic math and recalling which operations to apply, but her engagement skyrocketed when she could see the real-world utility of what she was learning. We are currently on Book 3, and watching her grasp and apply these concepts with genuine enjoyment has been a game-changer. Her progress is remarkable, and I am so grateful for this approach. I’m eagerly waiting for the release of Book 4 so she can continue this momentum!

Having just started our first year with Simply Charlotte Mason’s Middle Ages unit, I was hesitant to buy this book. This volume is easily the best of the three; the other two don’t even come close.

Our family is thrilled to launch Simply Charlotte Mason this year! We’re especially looking forward to exploring science through the Creation narrative, savoring these topics as a way to reflect on God’s glory and beauty. Big thanks to the SCM team for creating such a enduring resource. We began with Discovery, but since some volumes are becoming harder to source, we went ahead and purchased the Exploring set now. That way we’ll have them ready for next time or as a reference during our first pass.

I began homeschooling my third grader in 2021, focusing heavily on core subjects while science got only a minor share of our time. I subscribed to the Our Preschool Life boxes from Simply Charlotte Mason for my five-year-old, and the experience has been fantastic. She genuinely looked forward to each monthly delivery. If I had to highlight our favorites, the art study paintings, the music (which we still enjoy revisiting), and the straightforward crafts would top the list. I am also a huge fan of the beautifully illustrated short stories, the Nature Notebook, and the sticker set that offers great prompts for nature exploration. Every item Sonya and her team have sent has been exquisite and a true blessing to our homeschooling journey, inspiring us to fully commit to the Charlotte Mason philosophy. A big thank you to Sonya and the entire SCM team for their wonderful work!

Simply Charlotte Mason’s publication offers a sweeping, engaging overview of ancient history that feels like a joy to read. If you are seeking a robust alternative to “Story of the World,” particularly for families wanting to anchor their studies in a Biblical worldview, this title stands out. While the narrative is excellent enough that I’d happily revisit it, I do feel a gap regarding the Israelites; they appear only intermittently rather than as a central civilization. Since the book is designed to complement the Genesis through Deuteronomy lesson plans, this omission makes sense in that context, but it feels like a significant piece is missing if you intend to use this volume as a standalone read-aloud, especially for Christian households looking for a more comprehensive historical focus.

I purchased this from Simply Charlotte Mason wondering if it serves as the ideal starting point for cursive. While it looks like it’s designed for that purpose, I was surprised by the lack of guidance. There’s just a single page with arrows showing the stroke direction, but no real instruction on how to properly form the letters. For parents introducing cursive to their children, this feels a bit sparse. I’m curious if anyone who bought this from the site found it effective as a true primer for letter formation, or if you had to supplement it with other materials?

After a year of using the Preschool Life subscription from Simply Charlotte Mason, I can confidently say it is a fantastic resource for our family. With three other siblings in the mix, this box has been the ideal "special" school option for our three- and five-year-old girls. The curation is thoughtful, and the practical chore cards have become a daily staple. While I integrate the crafts and ideas more organically into our routine rather than strictly adhering to a schedule, the flexibility is a huge plus. Whether it’s a spontaneous Saturday morning session, a walk where we discuss shadows, or a quiet yarn doll project after a nap, there is always something engaging. I also find that checking the website occasionally helps me gather quick activity ideas for when the kids need a bit of direction. The included books and art prints are excellent quality and even appeal to our older children. It is especially nice to see crafts that build real skills like sewing and sculpting. I would also recommend adding the chapter book bundle, as it helped us discover some wonderful, short reads that were new to us.

Reviewing these volumes is a bit of a challenge for me because high praise can easily come across as cliché. I’ve been homeschooling for fourteen years and have integrated Baburina’s first three books into our routine with my youngest son, who is both highly gifted and dyslexic. They are hands-down the best resources I’ve encountered. I plan to rely on them unquestioningly for my little girl, as they stand head and shoulders above other curricula we’ve tried over the years. This approach has genuinely improved my teaching; it’s straightforward to apply, and the concepts stick with children in a meaningful, lasting way. I haven’t felt the need to add any extra materials. Big thanks to Richele and the team at Simply Charlotte Mason for bringing these to us.

After my first year of homeschooling, I learned a valuable lesson: sticking to the Charlotte Mason method for as many subjects as possible saves money and keeps things simple. While I spent quite a bit, the Simply Charlotte Mason Elementary Arithmetic series was worth every penny, especially alongside living books. The curriculum stands out because it forces real thinking rather than just busy work. It’s concise and focuses on building a genuine understanding of numerical value. I also appreciate the efficiency of the required manipulatives, which is a huge relief compared to other programs that overwhelm teachers with materials. Using coins to teach money math is a brilliant touch; it strengthens conceptual understanding even when money isn't explicitly mentioned in the problem. The best part? My daughter now mentally creates math problems and excitedly shares her answers at dinner. She has progressed from single to double-digit addition and actually enjoys the challenge. She still gets frustrated sometimes, but this curriculum gives her the confidence to solve problems independently. I plan to buy the physical copies of Books 1, 2, and 3 for my growing family, hoping my younger ones will benefit just as much in the future.

As a music enthusiast, I’ve found the audio selections in this curriculum to be exceptional. I love having them playing in the background throughout my morning routine. We’ve recently explored the works of Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, and Mendelssohn. Switching to the digital download format for Simply Charlotte Mason has been a great choice; having the files stored on my computer feels much more convenient than managing physical CDs. While I have a degree in music, I realized that curating high-quality recordings would be too time-consuming compared to just using this well-crafted resource. It’s a fantastic tool, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks for putting this together—are there plans to include studies on other composers in the future?

I had high hopes for this play from Simply Charlotte Mason after loving their production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," but I was a bit let down by the content in Act I. Specifically, scenes 3 and 4 contain language that feels too mature for a second grader without a heads-up. There is a line from Sir Toby describing Sir Andrew's hair that mentions a housewife taking a man between her legs and spinning it off, which confused my 10-year-old daughter. I really wish the publisher had included a content warning for these graphic moments. It’s a decent resource, but a clearer note on language would make it much easier to use with younger kids.

At Simply Charlotte Mason, the music program is clearly resonating with my seven-year-old daughter. It’s wonderful to watch her develop such a strong enthusiasm for high-quality compositions at her age. The interest is so genuine that she is eager to begin violin lessons right away. I’m generally pleased with the curriculum, but the physical media left something to be desired. Both discs had noticeable audio issues from the very first play; there were scratchy sections and sudden loud noises that marred the listening experience. While the content is a hit, the recording quality of the CDs could be improved.

Reading Simply Charlotte Mason’s material this year has been a challenge for me. The books feel a bit drawn out and lack that engaging quality that makes stories truly stick. It’s hard to convey the excitement when reading aloud, which makes it difficult to grasp the narrative. I found the experience somewhat tedious, which is why I’m rating it two stars.

I really enjoyed the hymn collection in this book. My only quibble is with the included CD; it’s a bit frustrating that the tracks just loop rather than playing through, especially since my player tends to pause for too long between repeats. Fortunately, I was able to find high-quality audio versions of the songs online to use with my Simply Charlotte Mason curriculum, which solved the issue perfectly.

I’m genuinely impressed by this curriculum. My son had just finished advanced first grade, and despite our previous success with traditional workbooks, I decided to take the leap and introduce the second book in this series at the start of the school year. Initially, I was hesitant, worried that switching from a proven method might disrupt his progress. I am so glad I did it! I quickly realized that while he seemed to be doing well, he was merely memorizing answers without truly understanding the concepts. Within just a couple of weeks, the Charlotte Mason approach sparked a genuine enthusiasm in him. His natural love for math evolved into a deep comprehension; everything finally clicked. I’ll never forget the moment he connected addition and subtraction—the look of realization in his eyes was absolutely magical. For any parent feeling nervous about trying something so different from standard math instruction, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won’t regret it. The method is not only beautiful for kids but also helps parents rediscover a love for mathematics. I’m eagerly awaiting the release of the third book and will definitely buy it as soon as it’s available, especially since my son keeps asking when he can get back to his "good math."

I have to say, this curriculum from Simply Charlotte Mason completely changed our reading routine. My five-year-old used to tear up after every session with our previous gentle program, and after three weeks of struggling, I knew I needed a change. He loves learning to read but was just really fighting it. We switched to this new method, and the difference was immediate. Within just one day, he went from reluctant to a happy kid begging to do a "lesson." We wrapped up "at" and started "en" today. He picked it up so quickly and was beaming with pride. In just a week, we went from crying at the start to laughing and feeling accomplished at the end. I highly recommend it! I can't wait to start Level 1 with my younger one, and I’m seriously thinking about grabbing the whole SCM collection for all my kids.

We really appreciate the gentle, hands-on style, but I’m worried that Book 3 won’t be released in time for the next school year. If that happens, will I need to move my current second grader to a different math curriculum?

I’m thrilled to award Print to Cursive a perfect score! My daughter absolutely adores it. The use of Proverbs is invaluable, and the method for teaching cursive is gentle yet highly effective. It’s amazing to see how well the material works; my youngest child, who will be starting with the book next term, has already learned to write her name in cursive just by watching her older sister. I’m so eager to keep my eldest’s writing practice going that I’m ordering the Hymns in Prose Copybook right away. It’s wonderful that you created this resource based on the Charlotte Mason approach. May God bless you! I also had a nice moment when our local librarian praised my eldest’s handwriting after she filled out one of their worksheets with prizes. I just smiled and knew the training was paying off.

Simply Charlotte Mason makes learning a breeze! We’ve got students from Kindergarten all the way through high school, and the entire family enjoyed exploring Bach together. I really love that the music downloads are linked to our iTunes account, so we can easily keep the music playing whenever we want.

We’ve just completed level 2 with my youngest, and we are absolutely delighted with the results. Having taught three children to read, I genuinely regret not discovering this resource for my older two kids. I experimented with four different phonics curricula, but this one is truly superior. The biggest plus for me is that writing isn’t a prerequisite, which is a huge relief since many children master reading well before their fine motor skills are ready for handwriting. I also appreciated the encouraging tone in the teacher’s guide, which emphasized following your child’s unique learning rhythm. Our pace varied naturally—we lingered on a single lesson for a week, then moved to two days, and eventually finished in just one day. Although level 2 spanned our entire kindergarten year and half of first grade, I am confident he has fully retained the material. A big thank you to the Simply Charlotte Mason team for such a wonderful program!

As a 6th-grade teacher at a small private school, I was searching for a history resource that went beyond standard textbooks. After reviewing numerous options, I chose this volume from Simply Charlotte Mason and purchased a copy for every student. The narrative flows with the quality of real literature, effectively engaging young readers while highlighting key historical moments—true to the Charlotte Mason concept of a "living book." The students have been thoroughly enjoying the material, and we are nearing the end of the course. I also found the accompanying Narration Notecards incredibly useful for my lesson planning. It’s a fantastic resource; I only wish the publisher offered a similar "Stuff They Left Behind" title covering the Middle Ages, as I rely on that format for my 5th-grade students.

Finally, a curriculum that actually clicks! After testing three different programs with my daughter, who struggles to concentrate, we found our perfect match with Simply Charlotte Mason. We’re already halfway through our second year, and the difference is night and day—she’s grasping math concepts like never before. Highly recommend!

I’ve been using Simply Charlotte Mason for a few months now and I’m truly delighted with the results. After a private consultation in our first year of homeschooling and then struggling with a free online curriculum, I found myself overwhelmed by book lists and unable to actually get the work done. The SCM lesson plans have been a game-changer. They offer the perfect balance of structure and flexibility, so I no longer stress over scheduling. If we have an off day, we simply pick up where we left off. The biggest endorsement comes from my seventh grader, who recently mentioned how much she enjoys Stories of the Nations. It’s rare for her to express enthusiasm for school books, but she even noted a new interest in Shakespeare after reading the chapters. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful resource!

Simply Charlotte Mason has been an absolute game-changer for our homeschool journey. My eldest sons are really enjoying the first book, and my second grader is making steady progress with book 2. It’s become such an essential part of our daily routine. The kids are genuinely excited about math and feel confident in their abilities, which I doubt would have happened with other curricula. I appreciate the flexibility—there’s no stress over rushing through pages of problems, and since the lessons are largely oral, it feels much more natural for us. We’re definitely looking forward to more!

Five stars all the way! We spent a lot of time searching for a math curriculum that actually worked for our eldest, as so many programs start strong but quickly turn into a daily struggle. Simply Charlotte Mason has been a breath of fresh air. The personalized one-on-one approach really makes the difference here, and the lessons are excellent. We’ve had to revisit some foundational concepts, but that’s been helpful, and we are eagerly awaiting the release of Book 3 so we can continue the journey!

My kids, ages 4, 7, and 10, have really connected with these lessons from Simply Charlotte Mason. It’s been great to see how far they’ve come, even though my youngest still needs a little help. I even found a nautical fabric that caught my oldest boy’s interest and got him excited about the projects. Everyone has loved the results so far, and I’m eager to dive into the next study. As someone who is good with crafts but struggles with organization, I really appreciate the clear structure these videos provide. It’s exactly what I needed to keep our learning on track.

This book captures Karen Andreola’s unique voice beautifully, serving as a true treasure trove of wisdom and encouragement for mothers from all backgrounds. I took my time absorbing every page, filling the margins with notes to use as a reference later. The narratives she uses to illustrate her points are highly relatable, often revealing profound truths that linger in my mind long after I close the cover. Having homeschooled for 19 years, with my youngest now starting first grade, I’ve relied heavily on "A Charlotte Mason Companion" for guidance, and "Mother Culture" offers that same spiritual depth and fresh perspective on family and education. As someone who values minimalism, I keep only a select few books on a special shelf in my living room, and "Mother Culture" has definitely earned its place there as a cherished classic.

I have to admit, this review might be a bit early, but I am already absolutely thrilled with Simply Charlotte Mason! I bought this along with the Math for a Living Education workbook, planning to use the workbook for core lessons and the SCM book for drills. Things were going smoothly until we hit place values, and suddenly my daughter was totally confused. No amount of extra practice with the workbook helped; she would get the answers right but had no idea why or how, which led to a lot of frustration. I remembered I had the SCM Math DVD set and watched the first one. When Richele mentioned her son was a "good arithmetician" but lacked connections, it really clicked for me. I realized the workbook was perhaps too focused on just getting through the motions. I packed away the workbook and re-watched the DVD with pencil and paper. We started over with the first lesson in Elementary Arithmetic. We’ve been doing reviews for two weeks and have only reached lesson number eight, which is totally fine. Some days we move fast, other times we slow down. After today’s lesson, I’m even reviewing numbers 7 and 8 again before moving to 9. The progress is incredible. She is now counting forward and back, grouping, and truly understanding the plus, minus, and equals signs. It took her several minutes today to translate a written subtraction sentence onto the whiteboard, looking back at her notebook to get the equation right, but she finally made that connection. She even told me recently how glad she is that we homeschool, noting that in school she wouldn’t have been allowed the time to truly figure out the problem. That insight is profound for her age! She is learning at her own pace, discovering numbers from multiple angles, and making real connections rather than just filling in blanks. Sonya’s advice in the DVD to not interfere with your child’s learning and just prod them along really sticks with me. When she gives me a blank look or questions her answers, I wait. She is even learning to check her work by working backward. Today, she caught her own error without me interrupting! It’s all because I simply sat still and waited. The kit is wonderful; she enjoys grouping beads and buttons by color and shape in her free time and "plays school" on the whiteboard. It’s straightforward and easy to execute once you get the hang of it. My younger child has a different learning style but still enjoys the drills and abstract portions. She is doing well too, and I know she will be successful when she starts first grade. Considering we will use these resources for at least three children, the cost per child is an incredible value. All I need are new notebooks and eventually a marker. I look forward to finishing this year’s lessons and moving on to Book 2. Thanks for helping my child become more than just a good arithmetician!

I don’t own this specific bundle yet, but having purchased the hard copy kit, I wanted to share my thoughts based on other reviews. I completely agree with the earlier feedback regarding two main points: it would be incredibly helpful if the physical set included a digital download option, not just the prints. Additionally, offering smaller formats like 4x6 or 5x7 would be a great addition. Since we have three children, we face the same challenge where each child wants their own set for their Art Study notebooks. Buying three full sets at around $20 each is quite a stretch for our budget. We’d have to limit ourselves to only a few artists over the entire homeschooling period instead of exploring a new artist each year. If the digital copies were included or if there were a family discount, it would make it much easier to do a thorough study with every child. I absolutely love the concept. We actually use it as an Art Study, creating our own masterpieces using similar mediums to the artists we analyze. We also integrate Music and Poetry studies during this time, listening to the music of the musician being studied while we work. It would be wonderful to see more musicians and poets from the same time periods added to Simply Charlotte Mason’s collection to round out the curriculum further.

Absolutely thrilled with my purchase from Simply Charlotte Mason! These volumes hit the nail on the head for what I was hoping to find. I’m eager to start reading through them with my two kids. I’ve already placed an order for three more and will be grabbing the rest as they come out. It would be fantastic if they plan to expand the series beyond book five!

We recently wrapped up the Simply Charlotte Mason curriculum for grades 2 and 5, and it’s been a fantastic experience. My children’s highlight was definitely the unit on the world wars; they were truly engaged. I’m so grateful for how these books simplify our homeschooling routine while ensuring my kids absorb so much knowledge.

My family absolutely loved this book and accompanying CD set. We used to listen to it during our drives to my daughter’s music lessons. Since we travel extensively and have visited many of the historical sites featured in the book, it really brought those places to life. Sonya has a genuine gift for storytelling, and the presentation is superb. I’m keeping these for my grandchildren. Simply wonderful!

I highly recommend this book to anyone using the Charlotte Mason method! We’ve been reading it to our children, ages 5 through 15, and the narrative is both engaging and interesting. It has made the practices of narration and review much easier for us, and we’ve really enjoyed discovering historical figures we hadn’t encountered in our previous history studies. The way the book weaves together different periods of history has been enjoyable for both the kids and me, leading us on some fun, surprising "rabbit trails." True to the living-book style, the information is presented in substantial sections that give us time to reflect on the material before moving on. This is a definite favorite in our Simply Charlotte Mason resource library!

I’m absolutely thrilled with these guides! Richele Baburina’s step-by-step approach has completely transformed how we approach math, keeping true to the Charlotte Mason method. These books are beautiful and essential; I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series. A huge thank you to Simply Charlotte Mason for bringing them to us!

We just began our first picture study today thanks to Simply Charlotte Mason, and the experience was a total hit! The kids were completely engrossed, spending ages examining the artwork and discussing it. My only misstep was ordering sets for just the two older kids (ages 8 and 11), because my three-year-old demanded her own copy immediately. Fortunately, we had a postcard-sized Homer print on hand that matched the study, so it worked out fine, but I definitely need to order a set for her now. The packaging was immaculate and the materials were so well-organized that the whole process was seamless and fun. I’m already looking forward to buying more!

I’ve only been using materials from Simply Charlotte Mason for a few weeks, but I’m already impressed by how straightforward it is to set up for family learning. The framework lets us stick to a core text while adding extra reading for the older kids, which keeps everyone engaged in the same history cycle—a huge win for a mom of five. I really appreciate the one-room-schoolhouse approach, and I’m hoping to see more multi-age science options like 106 Days of Creation on the site, as it’s been a fantastic addition to our routine. Five stars!

Karen Andreola’s work is an absolute treasure for anyone venturing into homeschooling. I’m just starting out with my five-year-old, and reading the introduction and first chapter gave me the guidance and reassurance I needed. I’ve already highlighted so many parts that I’m treating this like my bedside companion and dreading lending it out! It’s genuinely one of those must-read gems for the Charlotte Mason approach. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this book for its warm and supportive guidance. It mirrors the structure of The Charlotte Mason Companion, allowing for convenient topic-specific reading. The chapters are concise and engaging, making them ideal for a relaxing 15-minute break with a cup of tea. I plan to suggest it as an entry point into the Charlotte Mason method, to be read before or alongside Home Education. Even for seasoned practitioners, it offers valuable reminders and encouragement that you are on the right path.
