Serbian Railways

Free entry. There are almost no visitors, undeservedly. At first I got the impression that I was in an institution. Then he got used to, delved into the exhibits. It turned out to be a cozy and sweet museum of the railway in Serbia.

An interesting museum. I would never think he had so much to see.

Excellent exhibits, interesting info. Not sure if I got it right, but we paid no entrance fee.
Kids loved it.
However, lots of space for improvement.
English explanations might be reviewed.

Rather dusty collection of rail equipment. Most has labels in English, but not very interactive.
It is hard the find the entrance, but it is unassuming door next to the narrow gauge steam engine.

This is an incredible place that shows the history of Serbian rail. Very nice!

Located in a corner of the first floor of the Serbian National Railways Building. There are not many exhibits, mostly models and photos. The feeling is to vacate a corridor in the office area for display.
Here you can see the posters of the Orient Express and the real direction signs.

Unfortunately there are no large vehicles to admire, but instead a rich collection of small things of all kinds and a very interesting library and archive of the railway

The Serbian railways building was built in 1922. The work is architect Svetozar Jovanovic. the building was intended for the former Ministry of Transport of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Today, there is a museum of railways in Serbia.

Came there on Saturday, it was closed. Probably a good museum, though

Opened in 1950. It has a permanent exhibition, an exhibition gallery (190 sq. M.), A library and an archive. The museum funds consist of more than 40,000 exhibits, divided into 4 collections: technical, historical, artistic and decorative and applied.

Every old museum has something special in itself. Staff, items, smell, charm, story behind everything. Definitely worth visiting, no matter if you are tourist or someone from Belgrade. Despite the fact that museum is on a just cca. 200m2 of space, you can spend few hours in it for sure. Ask for a tour with someone from the museum, it will be twice more interesting.

I believe that the work is in line with the material possibilities, but I believe that a little more could be done on promotion, because that is why some and less content-rich institutions have higher attendance.

Beautiful building. Always support for investing in the development of culture as a national consciousness of every society!

They did not enter the museum, but the building itself was appreciated. Handsomely.

The museum is ok but the relocation of the main train station, just 135 years old, is the climax of nonsense and the mockery of Serbia.

A very small museum but its very interesting for travelers, specially who love trains.

We went because the name is museum. The officials said that the museum was not open, but we could visit. We toured for free. Quite small, but interesting details.
Unlike our examples, locomotives (except at the door) wagons are not exhibited. More bureaucratic and indoor technical materials used by railroad personnel and documents on the history of Serbian railways were exhibited.

An estimated 30 minutes can be visited.
Can I recommend it? If you have a railroad curiosity in this detail, yes.

Excellent museum dedicated to railway history. It is small but worth a visit, especially with children.

A place for a nostalgic return to childhood is a little older.

A nice stop a long the way if you 10-15 minutes to spare.

Free entrance, very friendly staff, the only thing missing is a description of the artefacts that only a great connoisseur would recognize. Otherwise, a great place for kids, family, tourists

Entrance was free for me in September 2018 and there was a lot to see.
I discovered it by accident and it was a great discovery!
