I went to Seacamp in 1976 and I still think about all that I learned back then. The whole experience was so wonderful that it gave me a love of Marine Biology and ultimately set me on the path to my career in Phycology (The study of #Algae). It would be really great if they held some sort of reunion once a year so we could all share our stories and encourage others.

Our students and chaperones had the best time and learned so much! Amazing staff ensured a top tier experience for all of us: classes, flexible to meet needs, great food, and amazing people. Kyra was PER-FECt with our kiddos that ranged from 4th to 8th grade. Can't wait to bring another group back.

Went here back in high school with my Biology club and loved it! Had a great time and learned a plethora of information. Highly recommend!!

In 1985 I went to scuba camp. I remember it like it was yesterday. Even down to learning how to hold my breath. The great sunsets and great meeting campers from all over the world. What a gift to have this memory. Now I am looking to move to the keys to fill my dreams.

I went to Sea Camp with a high school field study. It was FANTASTIC!

If your child is interested in the ocean, marine science or scuba diving...You have got to send them to Seacamp! Truly an amazing experience for kids!

Seacamp has been devastated by Irma, insurance is slow coming. They are a fraction of it's former size. They could use any help possible.

As a kid and still now that i'm older that place was amazingly fun and a great place to go as a field trip as a kid.

The experience I had here will stay with me for the rest of my life. It is the greatest place a marine biology loving kid could be sent to! I would recommend it to any kid with an interest in biology.

Absolutely disgusted with this place. My son was able to go experience what I was able to experience when I was his age. Unfortunately his experience was miserable. He came home with 40+ mosquito bites. No screens on the dorm windows to keep mosquitoes out when they was sleeping and it was hot underneath covers to sleep. All the kids was absolutely covered in bites.
I'm furious you did not protect my son and others better!

My sister went to this camp and she said that it was the BEST experience of her life! she said that she definitely wants to go back and hopefully become a camp counselor there!!! Everything is super beautiful and worth every penny!!! hopefully i can go too one day!

It was OK wasn't the same time butt you learn a lot

Our son came for the highly recommended scuba diving, sailing, marine biology classes and the opportunity to explore North America's largest reef. Instead he experienced day after day underwater in a tiny swim canal carpeted with stinging Casseopeia jellyfish. Scuba 1 campers are not allowed to take sailing, nor will they ever see a reef. Instead they spend hours ever day stirring up the stinging jellys and no one at the camp seems the least bit concerned. Despite repeated requests we were never given photos of our son at camp. Be advised that outside temperatures hover about 100 degrees every day making it hard to sleep at night. We found the administration to be unfriendly and more interested in keeping the checks coming than in keeping our son safe and happy.

This place theres nothing like it the friendships and memories you make there you will remember for the lifetime and look back and wished you had done something different to remember it more. Seacamp is a place for kids who want something different who want to standout and make connections that you will remember for as long as you live. Its the perfect place for the outside kid at school the one who stands out and the ones who love science. Seacamp is amazing

It is a wonderful place and a lot of activities for the students (but it was very affected by Hurricane Irma), but they are already doing the renovations ,,,, and the students appreciate that the place is open for them,. (They have a lot of security cared for by their teachers and professionals).

I went there back in 1978 and I have nothing but great memories! I learned quite a lot and had a great time. I highly recommend having your kids go there if they enjoy marine sciences.

Anytime you see a positive review about this place, I believe it's just a big lie. Yes, the Florida Keys is a great place to visit, but not with Seacamp.

You're probably thinking a great place to work, and a great place to go on a summer vacation. But all the advertising is only a small part of what they do. You're probably thinking every day going out to Looe Key scuba diving and snorkeling, but most of the time you're just going to be in their campground canal, which is nothing that you would expect in the Florida Keys.

There is no laundry for miles from where you are so expected to be hosing your clothes in the shower. Also, the food is just plain old cafeteria food so it's going to get really old very fast.

Parents trust me, you're paying a lot more than what you should be paying. And people who want to work there you are not making anywhere near as much as you should be, no matter what position you are. If anything you really get taken advantage of.

The woman who runs the place may seem sweet, but she is not at all. I will never forget when everyone was hugging each other saying goodbye on the last day, and she literally ran up to the ones who were hugging, breaking them up because she wanted them to get on the bus because they would miss their flight. Give them a break, yeah they could miss their flight it's not good, but there will always be another flight, but if they're never gonna see each other again, please let them have their moment.

Another thing is, I believe the communication here to be terrible. Whether it's a phone call, email, mail letter, or even just talking in person. No one ever knows an answer to anything. So I feel you can never ask for permission because you will never get it, but ask for forgiveness.

To be honest, I could go on forever, with other things I'd like to say, but then I'll be making a novel. But I will say it one more time, I do recommend visiting the Florida Keys and Looe Key, but not with Seacamp. Because you will be missing out on a lot.

I went here from Etters PA for a special school trip. Only the best students had the opportunity to go and I would not trade the experience for the world. Every part of this place is perfect. Loved it.

I attended a day camp which was intended for younger children in 2002 because I was under 12 years of age at the time.

I loved it, the staff was very nice to us and I have fantastic memories of this place!

We learned how to windsurf, sail, snorkel, etc. We also studied sea life and swam with sharks.

The staff took us snorkeling and we went on the boat practically every day. They would take us to random islands in the ocean and we would play games there. One of the games included hide and seek in the mud. We were encouraged to cover ourselves in mud to prevent sunburn and to blend in with the island. It was so fun!

I will certainly send my children here when I have some. :-D

My daughter complained that she didn't get to do any sailing in the small sailboats, as Seacamp advertised and as some of the other kids did. Apparently they were overcrowded, i.e. admitting too many kids for the available boats and counselors. Consequently, she has disdained sailing henceforth. As an avid sailor myself I am so sad about that. Seacamp had an opportunity to instill a love of sailing in my daughter but instead turned her off of it maybe for the rest of her life.

I have had the opportunity of taking my students to Sea Camp over 9 times. My students have wonderful memories of sea life and the ecosystem. Thank you Sea Camp.

I went here in 1975 when I was 10. I took away great memories and a love of boats, snorkeling and sea creatures that has lasted a lifetime.

Nearly 20 years ago I went to SeaCamp. I can probably, even now, write a book on the memories that were made on my week long stay; the best memories of my childhood! The decision to send your students or child to this facility will plant a seed of ocean exploration and dedication to the preservation of marine life that will last a life time. I was possessed to write this review after so long due to a stroll down memory lane, triggered by a conversation about zinc oxide with my husband. I told him about how my group painted our faces with blue zinc oxide at sea camp, and were called "The Smurfs" for the rest of our stay :)

I attended SeaCamp about 45 years ago just after it started. Yes, it's been around THAT long and it wasn't air conditioned back then either. In fact, we campers lived in wood floored tents back then, and that's a whole 'nother story! It's hot, but nowhere near 100 and the wind is always blowing, so it's very tolerable. Afternoon rains provide a nice cool off in the hottest part of the day so that helps too.

I learned to dive there (NAUI not PADI) and I've carried that skill and comfort under water with me ever since. We learned about the ocean every day without even knowing it, and today I still love to visit the keys during the lobster season to catch a few bugs and spend some time on the water.

It was (and is) a fantastic experience for kids who love the outdoors. Like a previous reviewer aptly wrote, SeaCamp is not the Ritz-Carlton day spa, but it will be the experience of a ;lifetime for kids who love the water and the outdoors. Whinny/wimpy kids should try something else!

I attended Seacamp back in 2003 with my biology class, and I had the best time! By far, this was the best experience of my high school years, I highly recommend it.

I just took 50 sixth grade students to Sea Camp. This is my third year in a row as a chaperone. The counselors were great. They knew how to engage the students and spoke on their level. The entire experience is amazing. My students had a lot of fun while learning. I recommend Sea Camp to anyone who teaches 5th-9th grade students.

I miss and love Seacamp. I went to Seacamp 12yrs ago and till this day the memories I had there stick with me. The Staff at the time were AMAZING! I would recommend bringing kids that marine life here! You won't be disappointed! I also remember seeing a barracuda when went scuba diving! Pretty cool experience!

They undercooked the chicken once but they fixed it so this place was lit.

I tookmy 7th and 8th grade students here from Holy Cross Lutheran School, Jacksonville FL to Newfound harbor from 1985 to 1992. Words cannot describe how wonderful the experience was. The staff instructors dorms, dining hall, location, boat trips, classes, John Booker, Chuck Brandt were top notch. I loved every minute of our time there. I wrote an instruction manual for the entire 3 day 2night session for a graduate course I was enrolled in at UNF for a Masters Degree in Secondary Science Education. This is an excellent experience for students, and I would recommend it to any teacher who is looking for a once in a lifetime immersive educational program for their students. The memories will last a lifetime.

Yes seecamp is great I used to work there man it was a ball that everybody is nice it's a long good especially the maintenance guy I don't know what his name is I think it's Paul but he is just the coolest guy so we go out there so you can say hi to Paul shake his hand he's a good man
