Every city needs a place like this. Up-cycling and recycling a variety of craft items, fabrics, etc this enterprise is worth a stop. Lots of good quality, great prices. I could've spent a whole day there.

Totally not impressed. For a second hand store there prices were not only not cheap...but on a sale day at A.C. Moore or Michaels i could have bought the same items cheaper and new...not used. Very messy and disorganized. Looks more like a trash dump than a store. Would definitely not waste my time on again.

Great place to find art supplies or to do art. You can rent space to creat art there. Paint, paint brushes, canvases, fabric, wood, etc are all things you can find here.

So much fun. Never know what you're going to find, but it will be awesome.

A very interesting place to say the least! A huge variety of all kinds of items for sale. Make sure you have some time when visiting. Look high, low and all around, or you may miss a great find!

Always a good time in here. I come looking for one or two things and I end up buying like 20 items.

Doing nothing but good here at the scrap exchange! Their community outreach programs are impressive, their organized materials to create with, the thrift shop, the volumes of stuff kept out of the landfills...impressive and very useful!

This place is a painstakingly crafted bazaar of junk, scrap, and discarded things constantly reorganized by the people who work there. It's a testament to the sheer amount of consideration and care invested in this community sponsored shop fulfilling a niche role in it's own little industry. I would recommend touring it if you're in the area, even if only for a day.

Huge selection of odds and ends as well as every craft product you could want. A great place to just walk especially if you need inspiration for a project. Very helpful and friendly staff. All personal were wearing masks and some even gloves. Social distancing was encouraged as best they could given the space.

Wow, more stuff than I could ever imagine. A crafter's paradise that forces those creative juices to flow. Great prices too! Don't try to see it all in one visit!

We love the Scrap Exchange! You never know what you are going to find.

If they don't have it, it doesn't exist. Okay, not really. But this eclectic place is great for bargain hunters and those who are crafty and use unusual mediums for their artwork.

Our first time coming here and it was a really fun experience. This place has odds and ends that are a crafter's/knickknack lover's dream. We didn't have a particular need, we just wanted to check it out. A place to star on the map.

Great place to go for that unusual something that you didn't know you needed. Now divided into 2 stores side by side...one a thrift shop with assorted household gadgets and thingamabobs, the other full of various scrap items that stir the imagination. Need a knitting needle or2.?.they have it.need a gently used soccertrophy, ? Yep, that too...Need a glass dome with radiation warning symbol on it? By golly they had that too , on a recent foray. Remember, with an open mind, anything is possible!!

If you need something, they very well may have it from zippers to buttons and containers and more!

Awesome!! Friendly and helpful staff. Been going once a month for several months now and I always leave with my car packed. Some many things to stir your creativity and their new thrift store is great too. Never know what you will find and prices are reasonable for the most part. Highly recommend it if you think outside the box when creating crafts.

This place is crazy. There's so much stuff it's overwhelming. You can find the most obscure and amazing things. Crafters of every type will enjoy it.

They have new stuff every time I go. I get lost for hours.

The store is magnificent! I could have spent the whole day shopping. Theh have sales based on the color tags on the merchandise. I bought fabric, buttons, lace, doilies, vintage ephemera, sheet music, post cards etc.. the people are very helpful. The store is well organized and everything is labeled. I will return and bring my friends.

Very nice place! Makes you want to create something

The kids had a great time here. We did the craft time where you get 90 minutes of free craft time and unlimited supplies from the bins for $5 each. We were the only ones there for the whole time so it wasn t crowded at all. It s a neat place and if the kids ask for it again it s worth it.

more of a used junk store than anything. prices posted as one thing then find out at register it is a higher price. will not go back.

Honestly amazing. Can't give them enough praise, especially the staff and volunteers. Their programming and events are really stepping up their game.

A thrift store for crafting and art supplies. I love it because you never know what you'll comes across. They have a high turnover of their merchandise, so if you see something you might use, buy it.

I really like this place! I'm not a huge "thrift store" person, but when I do go it's really nice to find a good one! They have a huge selection of clothes that I didn't get a chance to look at (one of the people I was with was in a hurry). There are housewares, knick knacks, games, records, CDs, DVDs, and so natme books! They had some comics and magazines there, too.

I spent all of my time there in the media section. It toot me quite a while to dig through the LPs, and comics. I'm planning on going back soon to check out the rest of the place.

Fantastic place to pick up art supplies, or weird nic-knacks for a home project. Really stirs up your imagination and creativity when you walk in.

This place is a unique blend of thrift store, art project, sewing mecca. They recently opened a new wing with nothing but thrift items and they take donations. Plenty of parking! Go and spend a few hours just perusing and getting used to the place, its a fun place to go and find a hidden treasure! Great for odd and artsy folks to inspire their creative side.

One of the coolest things about the Scrap Exchange is that you can almost always find leftover partial portions of pretty much anything. Stains, solvents, glues...if you just need a little bit of something, the Scrap Exchange will likely have it...

Ok they are doing great things by giving individuals that need medical equipment wheelchairs other accessories for free God bless them

Fun warehouse full of everything you might ever want for a crafting or creative project: yarn, street signs, magazines, picture frames, old maps, scientific glass ware... you will always find something cool and surprising.

Awesome place for all types of crafting material. Paper, plastic, cloth, metal etc. Also cloth, yarn, patterns, pre-made jewelry, etc. You could spend a day there. Friendly staff.

A fun creative place. Great for school, art and craft projects.

The DIY Fest was going on when we visited. It was great! The new thrift store is huge and has great prices for stuff.

This is my favorite business in Durham! Their thrift store has the nicest finds and their original scrap market is ideal for super cheap art supplies. I always get great ideas for projects and costumes there!

Everyone in my family loves the scrap exchange. From cheap fabrics to random manufacturing waste material. We always love to go in and just see what s there. We almost always find something interesting to purchase. They ve also got the thrift store across the parking lot now, which has clothing, home goods, and other typical thrift store items and great prices. And all the proceeds go to their great local artists projects.

This thrift store is the absolute best. It has everything you need at a decent price. The staff are always helpful and friendly. I'm glad this is here for the local community.

The Scrap Exchange is a great place for all kinds of things; art projects, spare materials, CDs, clothes, fabrics, you name it. There's two separate sections. One building where the "scrap" is, and one that's set up like more of a general thrift store. Both of them have very friendly staff and have a a fairly rotating stock based on donations and such. All in all, a really nice place to stop by and look around.

The scrap exchange is that warehouse full of random (yet very well-organized) supplies for art and other things that gets you inspired! Definitely check it out for affordable options on everything from yarn to beakers and packing materials.

Love it. All day is not enough time . But it's wonderful exploring and getting things while I'm there.
