We took #1 grandson here because Showcase took 22 minutes to answer the phone by which time we'd missed the window for booking tickets. I'm glad they did.
Savoy staff were very friendly and helpful. The outside looks a bit retro (much better word than I used originally) but you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, the inside was very clean and tidy and very new looking but in keeping with its history. It was cheaper than showcase into the bargain.
Hidden gem this place.

Always our first choice when we want to go to the pictures. Nott's oldest cinema I think, when he was my age my Dad was coming here in 79! One of the best places to come in Notts for a Cinematic experience alongside Broadway.

The first film I can remember coming to see here was Thomas And The Magic Rail Road when I was a wee lad, which gave me nightmares for a while, who knew conductor Alec Baldwin could invoke such terror on a 3 year old
Since then I've seen too many films here to mention some great, others not so much. Most recently though I went to a re-showing of The Muppet Christmas Carol and that was brilliant watching it on the big screen for the first time

I don't think I've ever had anything bad to say about this place, at least nothing that was at fault of the staff

I don't know when I'll be back but I'm looking forward to it
