At £55, it works out to just £14 per 5L, which is half the cost of Screwfix. The quality is far better too, making it an easy choice. After reading the reviews, I decided to give this decking oil a try and I’m so glad I did. The value is incredible—20 liters for the price of just 5 liters of that popular brand I usually buy. I only used a quarter of the container, so one tub will cover my needs for at least three years. Using a brush on a pole, the whole job was finished in under an hour. It penetrates beautifully after a few hours, leaving a gorgeous finish. Easily the best decking oil I’ve ever used; definitely worth five stars and highly recommended.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this clear decking oil from Rye Oil was too good to keep quiet about. I’ve maintained over 130m² of decking across three major projects in the last 15 years, and hands down, this is the best product I’ve ever used. Before switching to Rye Oil, I spent a fortune on what I thought were top-tier market leaders, only to be consistently disappointed. There is a strong, lingering oil scent initially, but it fades significantly once the finish has cured under the sun and after a few rains or water washes. I was initially concerned when the wet oil appeared darker than expected, but patience paid off. Once dry, it reveals a fantastic harvest gold sheen that looks absolutely stunning. I’m confident this will last 2-3 years with just standard maintenance, making it well worth the switch.
