One off my bucket list. Seeing Bryn Terfel live in an opera, Don Pasquale. Absolutely brilliant. Great singing and comic timing and expressions. Bravo to all the cast.

Not only does the ROH have some excellent performances but it is also has a large amount of table space making it an ideal place for a coffee and a chat especially if there is a needed for computers and documents. The coffee is reasonable quality and is not the cheapest, cakes and sandwiches are sim...
Watching a performance at the Royal Opera House is an amazing experience. It's worth visiting the ticket office located inside for last minute seats. Open from 10am to the general public, the shop and relaxed bars are a must as they are brilliant. Staff are lovely and it s such an iconic building. I...
Watching the performance of Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera House is an amazing experience
Wonderful ballet and opera throughout the year. The ROH is a very special place with the best classical/traditional and modern/contemporary performance art in London (and arguably the world).
Price varies, clearly the best tickets are incredibly expensive but if you book on the day with seats near ...
I mean, it's the Royal Opera House. It lives up to what is, on its face, an absurdly lofty title. It's the best, and you know where you are: at a great, great place full of talent and shine and comfort. Go, if this is your thing, it's amazing.
Beautiful performance of Sleeping Beauty with magical costumes and fantastic dancing. There's something really special about seeing live performances, live orchestra and in a historical place. As much as I loved The Lincoln Centre in New York and ballet there, our ROH has the classic charm of a venu...
Wonderful Backstage Tour. Really worthwhile especially if you have children or grandchildren wishing to go into production backstage.
What a fantastic afternoon! The Royal Opera House is absolutely huge, with many places to get your drinks!
Beautiful main stage, great terrace overlooking Covent garden.
Saw two ballets from standing room and the top balcony. Standing room offered great sightlines for the price, and there's a ledge you can lean on. Lots of interesting costume/set design displays in the hallways and lounges -- worth venturing onto a different floor during intermission to check them o...
Went for Faust
It was visually stunning and a great experience. Highly recommend having your tickets, champagne etc on your mobile phone as that expedites the process and arrive early if you want to coat check. The intermission was very short so I would send someone to find a seat and someone to gr...
Gotta luv the ROH London. There's no place like it (anywhere) & if you hunt around you can almost always get bargains.
Love the coffee shop too. Nothing special just a lovely atmosphere (whether you're there for a show or not).
Brilliant.
Love it.
What can I say... It's an absolute treat to go there every single time. Even cheap seats give you good visibility or if not it's clearly stated on the website while booking. Astounding performers, never disappointment ! One of the best opera experiences!
A center of excellence in all aspects of theatre craft.
Beautiful surroundings, excellent food, some cool displays of costumes n props. Temple to culture but in no way elitist. For the curious, you can book back stage tours. A decent shop. A calm oasis just steps from the bustle of the old flower/fruit n veg market. Friendly staff. Seat prices can be muc...
This rating is only for the venue, zone 3D. It's apalling they are selling tickets for an area from which the view is almost completely restrictive. Row A & B you could not see more than 20% of the show The Cellist. They never mentioned on the website the view is partially restricted. What a waste ...
Great friendly service at the Piazza restaurant, we had to change our plans on the day, they were more than accommodating and packed our afternoon tea into box s to take away! Awesome service in the heart of Covent Garden
We went there for a coffee as Covent garden was so busy it was like an oasis ,and then we discovered the upper floor and sat for a hour or so with a drink enjoying the amazing view over London .
Will definitely be back maybe next time to see a show as well .
A great place for high quality opera. The new arrangements at the front on the ground floor are an improvement but the queue for coats is still a bit of a scrum. The coat check in the amphitheatre helps but it is so narrow behind the counter that only one person at a time can come or go to the coats...
MUST SEE!!!! It's free. There is world known artists, except Michelangelo. The building itself is breathtaking and is right in front of Trafalgar Square.
This is review as a tourist look. There are a lot of exhibitions to view in the building. Entrance is for free, there also free toilets. Coffee area is pretty comfortable and is a good point for meetings. Prices are affordable. There's also souvenir shop ( quite expensive). Service here is very frie...
If you only visit one theatre in London, this is the one. It's exquisite. Some very modern renovations blend with classical theatre, the design is simply wonderful, you can absorb the atmosphere of the art that lives there from the moment you step inside. Plenty of refreshment areas - one on a rooft...
One of my favourite destinations in London. I love going to ballets and the Royal Opera offers some of the most incredible performances and artists! You can immediately feel the vibes when entering the building which is decorated in the most stunning and elegant way! The Royal Opera offers both ball...
Came here for the Magic Flute but also for the location. Doesn t disappoint! We ate nearly before the show to avoid the crowd but would ve loved to get a drink or coffee taking in the view just before the show starts.
A stunning venue, plush and some incredible performances. When I attended, the main ballerina got injured halfway through the show. Bit instead of stopping the show, they got an understudy to step in within 30 minutes and completed the show whilst also refunding us half the amount for any inconvenie...
Magnificent! What a wonderful building, you can feel the history of the grand building mingling with the feeling of awe as the excitement builds. Wonderful night spent watching the ballet, it's lovely to see so many people dressing up for the occasion. Highly recommend
Brilliant. La Traviata. Sensational performance. Violets had a cold but you would never know.
Such an iconic venue! The standard of performance is superb, the improvements to the building really good. Plenty of loos! The whole experience is thrilling.
Royal Opera House has a nice atmosphere and I was enthused by the performance.
Watched Othello December 2019.
The advice to arrive early was very valuable!
It's good to arrive at least 45mins early relax have a glass of wine or champagne, if on a budget arrive early meet up friends and make you...
An absolutely wonderful place! If you want a truly memorable experience this is where to go. The atmosphere & venue are sublime. The talent on show in Sleeping Beauty was truly moving, the scenery dramatic & costumes so vibrant. Worth every penny!!
Being here on a Wednesday afternoon to attend the opera. It was my first time and I enjoyed it so much. I had a walk all around the place to find different spots and my favorite one was the crash room, a cozy room with amazing chandeliers where you can have a lovely tea in a super quite and intimate...
Most amazing venue to visit. Good views of the stage even from our value seats in upper amphitheatre. Leave plenty of time to get through the building to your seats or even better arrive early to have a drink in the bar and people-watch from the amazing elevated window of the amphitheatre bar.
Utterly fabulous experience watching the performance of Onegin and the incredible ability of both the dancers and musicians
The Royal Opera House is an opera house and major performing arts venue in Covent Garden, central London
Just so impressed with their new refurbishment. Absolutely stunning. They have opened up the floor and made it so huge. The shop is amazing too. Simply perfect for Christmas presents or for something different for the person who has everything. Wow. As usual you come up tops. Including the performan...
Awesome first visit. Watched La Traviata. Great ground floor seats. I've been to other opera houses in European. This was an equally brilliant experience - so much majesty to it all.
We've only been here for coffee on the top floor. It's my favourite place to go for coffee in London. Great view and cosy. Delicious coffee and personal cafetieres. :)
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed my visit. Yes, the tickets are not cheap, but at no point did I feel I was being fleeced. The refreshments were reasonably priced, the cloakroom was free and the staff were friendly and helpful at every turn.
The ROH is a truly delightful place to visit even if you are not seeing a performance. Bars and restaurants are open to anyone all day. If you are attending a performance you are in for a magical evening with top performers and a wonderful orchestra. No matter where you sit , high or low the sound q...
Comfy seats. Really good ballet saw Giselle and Romeo and Juliet in 2013. Love this place can't wait to go back
My first experience of opera and a wonderful evening. Excepting the somewhat hefty price, it's something that feels accessible to everyone.
There really is something magical about seeing live performances at the Royal Opera House in London. It could be the live orchestra, the amazing venue that's really no less than a national treasure and such a place of historical importance. My girlfriend and I watched a stunning performance of Sl...
Recently visited to watch the Swan Lake production by The Royal Ballet. One of the most beautiful theaters we have visited. The stage and set were outstanding and facility was immaculately clean. Also, for a taller person my seat in the balcony provided generous amounts of leg space compared to othe...
I have never been here in all the 62 years I have lived in London but I have been curious as to what it would be like to go to the opera. We recently had a chance to go to watch La Traviata on a Saturday afternoon and was stunned firstly, by the building. We know it looks great from the outside but ...
Such a nice setting with helpful staffs. The new extension is well done with large foyer providing many spaces to breakout, rooftop, bars. Performances are top notch.
Basement and route to toilet is like a maze though.
Beautiful venue! Definitely makes for a magical night. Great range of seats at different price ranges so perfect for all people.
Staff were lovely and plenty of bathrooms available around the venue.
Was great to finally see a real orchestra in a London theatre.
The bar and restaurant look amazing...
An absolutely wonderful place! If you want a truly memorable experience this is where to go. The atmosphere & venue are sublime. The talent on show in Sleeping Beauty was truly moving, the scenery dramatic & costumes so vibrant. Worth every penny!!
This is fabulous place. One of the kind. A must visit to feel its vibe and energy and of course nobelty.
Amazing place! Beautiful combination between the antique building and the modern bar and restaurant!
Being here on a Wednesday afternoon to attend the opera. It was my first time and I enjoyed it so much. A wonderful evening at the opera! Great service during the intermission with delicious coffee and snacks.
What a breathtaking experience this place is. Cannot wait for you guys to re open so we can stop live streaming your events and get back in person.
If you haven't gone, you must go. Choose the middle back tier for the best experience.
Always research the performers, the producers and the production beforehand to make sure the version is the version you want to see.
The Royal Opera House is such a beautiful place. I really enjoy watching ballet here, and my personal favourites are Jewels, Manon, and Frankenstein. The Nutcracker show is also a must go during the Christmas season!
Wonderful place. Just one word to describe it. Magnificent. Its like when u enter, u go wawwww and then the quality of the Drama is mind blowingly well made. The acting is horrifically great and the setting is just ... u have to see it. That is the only way.
Such a great venue. Most of the time I have a great experience here. On 2 occasions however I've been subjected to mild form aggeession from fellow patrons. Overall I enjoy all the productions here.
A night at the opera at the ROH has long been on the bucket list. The wait was well worth it. We saw a magnificent production of The Magic Flute. The venue is every bit as majestic as I'd hoped. The staff were professional and courteous and helpful. Everywhere is impeccably clean. The coffee and cak...
The building is wonderful, the location excellent and the staff are helpful. Of course, if you're going to the ROH you are likely going to see something, ballet or opera, and it is unlikely to disappoint. There are a wide range of pricing options, though you will pay over a hundred pounds for what a...
Stunning building that you can wander in and peruse in the shop, enjoy a coffee in the cafe or go up another floor and have a drink or a bite to eat in the main building. Or take the escalator to the terrace. Some costumes on display.
Always a pleasure to watch a show there. House wine is particularly good!
Had a wonderful dinner here in-between the opera Don Giovanni, so happy to have visible English texts on the stage, so we knew what was happening. It was amazing, the whole place is beautiful.
The lost things....my children first experience of attending the ROH and they loved it. Kind and friendly staff. Accommodating and absolutely beautiful. Great views of London from the terrace
What's not to love? Can get reasonable priced tickets, in advance. Fantastic venue, with wonderful staff. Great bar for stopping off in. Well worth a look if going past.
