Riveredge hospital

My brother has been here for 3 days. I called tonight for the first time, had the appropriate information, and was passed along to speak to my brother directly. He sounds like he is getting so much out of the group sessions. He said they are engaging, uplifting, and challenging. His ability to even share his feelings are like night and day. I am so overjoyed that he found his way here. A huge thank you to the staff, for putting your heart into what you do. It does not go unnoticed.

i hate this place. i stayed for about 10 days and it did not help at all. none of the staff helped me when I had urges of HURTING myself. I caught a cold during my stay because they didn t hand out masks to the patients. They didn t give me anything to help with my horrible headache. They tell you the calls last for 10 minutes but it s actually 5. After my discharge, they didn t give back a lot of my clothes that I wasn t allowed to wear. None of the groups were actually therapeutic. I wasn t able to process my feelings because process group was just list 2 emotions you re feeling right now . I feel even more depressed and suicidal than before I was hospitalized.

This place is the worst PLEASE don t send your loved one here. I got sent from a residential when I was waiting for someone to take me upstairs the lady was rude and had an attitude. They wake you up by yelling and feed you food that is pink on the inside I kid you not. Not to mention the Doctors take forever to meet with you. It takes them about 2-3 days before a doctor will meet with you and as for the therapist/ family therapist who really determines your discharge they won t even meet with you till 3-4 days after you ve been there maybe even a week. The place has horrible schedule with only 2 therapy groups that are about nothing besides going around in a circle everyday telling everyone why you ve came and last thing I will say is the nurses are rude so are the staff. But Lauren is cool.

My personal experience was pretty good. I feel like I was there a bit longer than I needed to be; but the days went by pretty quickly. It could be a bit cleaner and the food could be way better, but I feel the staff in my unit were kind and helpful. We were also restricted to the unit the whole time; we could not go to the gym, cafeteria, or outside.

I recommend this hospital. They really care about you and your well-being.

Former employee here. DO NOT send your loved one here inpatient. The staff hit and beat patients and will do it off camera and get away with it. The supervisors don t do anything when patients make complaints. If patients call the patient advocacy hotline, all that happens is they ll gather info from the patient and find a way to cover it up. IT IS NOT SAFE HERE. Also this is a for-profit organization that tries to milk patients insurance without proper treatment. Please keep anyone you know far, far away

i went to this hospital in september, honestly changed me for the better. Even though sometimes it wasnt convenient i still got the help and support i needed at the time. So thank you to the staff who made me feel this way and the other kids who helped out! Miss it kinda<3

I came to this hospital in February but I do NOT recommend going there. Whether looking for help or not, DO NOT GO HERE! This place is terribly hell and I never got to talk to a therapist because they didn t let me, they just shrugged off and left as if I was worthless. Not to mention THEY YELL! I told them my triggers was yelling and next thing you know they just yell as if my triggers were invalid. I don t even know why I sent here. This place definitely came from hell, the food is sometimes tasty but they don t deserve anything kind from me or my parents, they know they can t trust this hospital, I told them everything about the staffs and their actions to my family. They promise to never take me there again when help is needed.

stayed here for 2 weeks almost 3 years ago, and i still haven t got all my stuff back. they lost like 2-3 outfits of mine and all my art supplies.

My Son was admitted with psychology issues. Not 1 time did a social worker contact me, nor any other employee to discuss care or discharge planning even with guardianship and hippa consent paperwork signed. My Son called me to say he was given an injection that made him have a seizure and feel like he was going to die. When I called the Nurse Ms. Jeanette on ITC unit, she stated my Son was disrespectful and rude to her and was given an injection to combat stiff neck. I know this was a cover up and he was given something more then to combat a stiff neck. Ms. Jeanette was condescending and abrupt when asked specifics about his care. She was more interested I'm telling me she was going to transfer my call then answer questions. 5 days later my Son calls me to inform me he is being discharged at noon. Still at this moment no one has returned my calls not has the Director of Social Services reach out. Upon arrival the very nice female receptionist was super helpful. She contacted the unit and was speaking intelligently upon the situation. Again I placed a call to his Social worker and Director of Social Services, without avail. Are they not interested in discharge planning or ensuring my Son isn't going to a Crack house or being picked up by a drug dealer? This is concerning coming from a place that states they are compassionate and listen to people. If this wasn't a very last resort I would not place my Son here. Very disappointed in the care provided.
