Staying at the Red Jacket during Pandemic.
Staff all seem to make a more than reasonable effort to be helpful and friendly.

The rooms are spot on clean! I was very happy with the overall cleanliness of the room and all touchpoints.

Great policies for the Water Park with clean surfaces and social distancing.

Lots of good food on-site or nearby $or delivery.

Staying 2 nights and so far the first night is going well!

My 7 year old son loved having his birthday here. The indoor water park is clean and safe. There's 4 large slides for adults and children over 48". Two slides that you go down on a tube and two regular. If child is between 36" and 48" they can ride on the two large tube slides with an adult. There is Small area for little children as well with 3 tiny slides and a jumpy swing for babies and another playground type area for kids 36" and up. They have a huge wave pool for all ages. And last but not least, there is a big hot tub that fits 15 people at a time (maybe more but due to Covid only 15). The hotel room was big. There were two queen beds, tv, refrigerator. Only downside there is NO MICROWAVES on site so if you have infants and need to heat their food it's impossible. The room we were in also had an upstairs loft with 2 small twin beds and tv. Overall it was a great experience. As an adult I'd rate it 3/4 stars but since my son enjoyed it soooo much I gave it 5stars.

This was our second stay. I will say the renovation was beautifully done with the hard ceramic but wood looking texture. I can't remember if the bathroom looking like this last time but was also impressed.

The staff here is always accommodating. We had a really noisy family last year that we ended up getting a bigger room.

Now... About that. Please, please, PLEASE put families with small children and dogs downstairs like other hotels do.

We were just too tired to care but 10pm for quiet time for a family oriented hotel seems very late. We had what we think was a dog running around and stomping Started back up at 6am sharp. Then another dog is barking across the hallway non-stop. Unfortunately next time, we may end up staying elsewhere and pay just for the water park. It was like last year all over again.

Another star deduction as half of the arcade is broken, outdated (and broken), and the brick stacking game had a mind of its own without even pressing a button. The ice cream at $6 is just highway robbery. $3, sure, I get it. And I get COVID I'm sure affected everywhere but other than the water park that our girls enjoyed, we were kind of bummed out with the stay...

Overpriced for the experience if I were to summarize. We kinda liked our stay. The staff are friendly. The room was clean. The Greek salad and the molten lava cake at their restaurant were really good. The parking area is a bit far from the entrance and when I asked for a trolley I was directed to two dollies that I thought were small even if you had the average amount of luggage. You could unload at the entrance and then park but it is a schlep going back and forth. The lights in the room are white!! Probably a measure to save energy which is cool but there are as energy-friendly warm yellow lights as there are white ones, not the best light selection for a hotel room where you would want to wind down. The breakfast is not included in the room price which I thought was already overpriced, most likely because of the included admittance to the Kahuna Laguna water park. Even the morning coffee would cost you $2!

So I m going to start out with the positives. The room was super clean, no issues there. The front staff was super friendly. The arcade- they fixed their games and everything worked well for us. My kids had a blast in there. Now for the bad, the price of the room. 310 for 1 night. I read reviews of the hotel and after staying there I m very surprised to see not one person mentioned how uncomfortable the beds are. It felt like a blow up mattress and moved like one too. The water park, my kids loved it- they are 3 and 4. But the front desk during check in never said you can use the water park the night you check in, and the next day for a couple hours as well. So for 1 night stay, you can actually use it for a day and a half. The food- very expensive, especially for the price of the room. Continental breakfast really should be offered.

As some have already mentioned, the price to stay here is hardly justifiable. The room was fine, although it was not cleaned during our stay and the sink stopper was stuck. No real amenities offered for a place touted as a mountain resort. Only complimentary item was the ice. Location is nice, but honestly you d be better off finding a really nice AirBnB or equivalent for the same or even better price.

Hotel is very nice. The room was clean and staff friendly. We paid for the Mountain View and it was stunning. The water park is not worth it for older kids, but great for little ones. Our kids 12 and 14 lasted about an hour before they got bored. You are also not allowed to use the water park after your checkout time for those thinking you could get extra time. I would recommend bringing your own beach towels as the ones they provide do not cover larger people very well. They had a nice Easter egg hunt for the kids on Easter morning for all kids.
