I participated in the beginning of the reconstruction, a magical facility

I was at the State Opera for the first time now after its reconstruction. Still smells fresh paint. :-) Beautiful building and interior. From the 2nd balcony amazing view of the curtain, chandelier and ceiling (ceiling paintings by Edward Veith). I was surprised by the modern individual reading device at each seat, ideal for staging and occupancy. Some seats on the balcony, especially those on the far right or left, have little foot space.

It smells there after the reconstruction. Everything is beautifully new, clean and shining. The new curtain is gorgeous. Where else to go to opera than here ...

Beautiful place to see a ballet or an opera! It was renovated in early 2020, and everything looks stunning on the inside! We booked box seats online (view below from box 14). Pro tip #1- the ground seats would not be good for visibility- we saw people standing up in the first row. Pro tip #2- you can book your intermission drinks/snacks online, and they ll reserve them for you so you don t waste time paying. I highly recommend visiting The State Opera if you are in Prague!

After the renovation this State Opera is one of the best in Europe!

Compared to other reconstructions in Prague, the interior of the SO seems to be cheap, tasteful and "defunct". A pity, such a jewel among Czech theaters.

Why is the decoration not open but there is no hint? ! waste time.

Excellent Opera House. Saw La Boheme. Both the cast and the orchestra were absolutely incredible. Avoid booking the second row seats in any of the boxes. Since there is no step, you have virtually no view (blocked by people sitting in the first row) from the second row in Box 2, tier 2.

Highly ornate and beautiful. Musicians rival those of any national Opera.

It is a beautiful building. Very elegant and imposing.

Do NOT buy second row seats in the box. Maybe this is a 'known' thing. I thought 'second row, how bad can it be?' You cannot see AT ALL. better off up the top up in the normal 'stepped' seating. These seats shouldn't be available for sale.

Saw Turandot and La Boheme here last week. I booked direct through the website, you can read it in English. The seats are numbered strangely as they are not consecutive but even numbers. You print out etickets and its all straightforward and cheap.

The building's interior is beautiful - red and gold and the seats have good views. We sat in the stalls which meant looking high up above the stage to read the surtitles. If you want to read these, you might be more comfortable in the circle.

Both operas were good with the singing stronger in La Boheme. The chorus is huge and the sets and costumes are excellent.

A trip here is definitely worth it.

The newly reconstructed building of the State Opera from 1888. It is a pity that the building is located right next to the main road.

Opera (butterfly) was nice, seats were very cramped tho so it was difficult finding a comfortable position to sit

A really nice opera house. The performance we attended would unfortunately be interrupted several times due to technical problems. There are usually 5 people in the boxes, which we found a bit narrow in the front row. The translation of the texts was displayed on the stage in Czech and English. Most of the seats had a computer on which you could also select the German language.

Nice building on the outside and spectacular inside. We saw Fidelio, the performances and the orchestra very well but the scenery is quite minimalist. Very small bathrooms for so many people, and while the seats are spacious, reduced space between seats to pass.

The State Opera is now beautifully restored, still smelling new.

Don Giovanni is too famous for its premiere. There is an episode that Mozart returned to Prague in August after the performance of Figaro's marriage and wrote the last day of the premiere.
Although it was old at the time of the visit, the renovation work performed until 2019 was modernized to install a touch screen on about 1,000 seats while focusing on approaching the appearance at the time of opening in 1888 Was.

I think an opera house that doesn't have to shy away from comparisons ... a unique, ornate architecture, very good acoustics and of course and important a very well-imagined performance made our evening here a Prague highlight.

We could only see it on the outside, and if on the outside it is beautiful inside, I can't imagine

Parking is on the edge of carrying capacity, but otherwise everything as adequate to the cultural stand. After reconstruction beautiful.

Sumptuous hall with totally over-the-top baroque decor. Very beautiful, with plenty of photo ops if you reach early. We saw Tosca: the soprano was fantastic, the tenor not so much. Great production, very classical and true to the period. The Opera is easily accessible by foot or public transport (it's practically right behind Wenceslas Square); if you are wearing heels, cobblestones may pose the usual problems, so maybe you'll want a taxi (call for one, don't hail them from the street). Everyone was very dressed up; I'm glad I did too even though there is no strict dress code.
For booking online, make an account first with the Narodni website; it'll keep giving errors otherwise and ticket booking will be a frustrating experience. Remember to take a printout!

The place is amazing, but presentations does not match what is sold, it's a trap for tourists, good music but not what you pay for. (we pay to hear an advertised 5th and 9th synfony and that didn't play at all, also advertised 60 musicians in the play and there were only 42). Good to go only once to know the structure of the theater.

Is The National Theater better? There are many tourists here. There are subtitles, so it is easy to understand if it is easy to understand.
The front seat is recommended. You can see the performance of the orchestra, and you can see the expression of the performer with your eyes.

Absolutely fantastic place with very good acoustics. The tickets are also unexpensive.

We saw a fantastic production of Richard Strauss Salome. The quality of the stage production, performers and orchestra was outstanding. I definetely recommend to visit it!

Nice interior. good sound. The singers are ok. Not in a top 10 world operas, yet good. Use the public transport to get in, parking is across the street and takes a lot of time. Dress properly! You might be admitted in jeans and Tshirt, but you will look like a pub turist.

Nice atmosphere, once in a lifetime you should be able to visit an opera. Good to reach.

Re-opened after years of restoration this beautiful eighteenth-century wedding favor

The building was really nice, but the acoustics were really bad. There was no terminal at the bar, so you had to return for cash. I would also expect the State Opera to look better on the headlines and not be misspelled. The modern concept of Fidelia was quite unpleasantly broken with classical music and an unmodernized libretto. The culmination was the starved prisoner Florestan, played by retaliated Bryan Register.

Fabulous place with great acoustics but the least legroom of any theatre I think I've ever been in. Really uncomfortable if you're over 5' tall

This place is undergoing renovation and modernization and is not yet accessible to the public.

Can you write anything other than a gem? It won't. The whole building is amazing in one word! Every detail is precisely designed, everything is where it should be and the beauty breathes on you from every perspective. Beautiful curtain, auditorium and beautiful view from any place. Czech gem, a jewel we can be proud of!
