Wonderful place, awesome cocktails, perfect size theater and great performances...go to the theater, everybody loves the theater!
At the Sound if Music performance which is amazing. Great cast and sets (no pictures allowed)
Went with my husband last night to see Newsies, both the theatre and the show were amazing. This was our first experience with the Phoenix Theatre, I was not sure what to expect, the theatre was nicer than I expected and the atmosphere in the lobby and entry is very nice. The set was wonderful, and the cast was talented and engaging! The vocals were Broadway quality, to say the least. And I was absolutely blown away by the dancing! The show had me smiling from beginning to end, and fighting the urge to sing along. Looking forward to our next experience with Phoenix Theatre.
The place was very nice, the only gripe I have is that locating the entrances was confusing as heck, so many corners to turn and then they're all the way in the back!
Saw the Jersey Boys and the theater, acoustics and seats were great! Love the nice smaller theater, could see all from anywhere. Would definitely go here again.
Stellar production of "Little Shop of Horrors." Terrific performances and staging.
This year's selection of programs is amazing. The staff is great
Great show, very recamened!!! Seats a little small tough
Not a bad seat in the house, and an excellent production of the Sound of Music.
I love every production I've been to at this theater.
Fantastic! Great play Kinky Boots. Cast is exceptional, not a bad seat in house, staff is top notch. A must go to theatre!
Every production I have seen here has been phenomenal. Costumes, lighting, sound, and the performance of every actor has been perfect.
I come from the east coast. Seen alot of Broadway shows and theater shows. Absolutely love this community theater, its actually quite possibly the best one we've ever been too. We have seen multiple shows here too. love it.
Great theater... but photo above is not Phoenix Theater. The photo is from the Herberger Theater located in downtown Phoenix.
Million Dollar Quartet is a fabulous show! Don t miss it. The talent is what you would find on Broadway. The only down side is that the show is in the smaller theatre and the seats are very close together. I am a tall slender person and I felt very boxed in, with little leg room. But go to the show anyway, you ll love it!!
I'd much rather see a show in the main theater then at the Hormel Theater. Tonight I was in the main stage theater and it was an enjoyable show. We saw an Americano. A very nice place to see a play and I would recommend it. Staff, volunteers, and services saw to it we had everything we needed. The ushers were very pleasant & helpful, too.
I love supporting local theatre and this venue makes that very pleasant for me. I have seen several shows that have exceeded my expectations in most cases. They are reasonably priced and also have shows that accommodate hearing impaired, which meant my friend was able to enjoy the show as well.
Enjoyed it very much. Everybody was very friendly and very helpful.
We went to see a show in the small Hardes Theater and I was very pleased to see that it has been remodeled to have more comfortable seating. Great! I always enjoy the shows I see here!
Great theater and good people/shows. Never upset being there
I really enjoyed my experience here and the ambiance is very nice (especially at night). Seating wasn't superb but it wasn't bad either. Parking isn't bad and the location is easily identifiable. Staff was courteous and approachable.
Nice venue to see a show (Million Dollar Quartet tonight,)
Brought my 8 year old daughter to the Sound of Music. She loved it!
Americano was AMAZING!! The theater nice & intimate. All seats are great seats!!
My wife and I had a date nite here last Friday. This was our first time here. There is not a bad seat in the house. All of the ushers were excellent. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing. We enjoyed the play "Kinky Boots" Our sides hurt from all of the laughing.
As ole performer myself I think they do some of the best productions I've seen in Arizona to date. The only negative is that it isn't bigger! Fantastic. Bravo!
Very professional performance. Cold though. Bring a sweater or blanket.
Cooking's A. Drag. Entertaining. For those if us that usher, did you know Michael Bernard wrote it?
I saw The Sound of Music. Flawlessly performed, very talented cast, lived it all.
Nice theater, cozy and immersive.
Beautiful venue and not a bad seat in the house. Thought the ELF musical was fantastic. If you have the chance to go see it I highly recommend it.
Great production of Million Dollar Quartet! Very talented cast, we enjoyed it thoroughly.
As always the host an hostess were polite an friendly. The musical was entertaining heartfelt an I walled away knowing a lil more about lives..
The theater was really small, the staff was not friendly and the show was not good
Fun, intimate show at the black box theatre. Lively cast during the Shakespeare performance.
Am a Chicagoan who attends theater regularly. I was VERY impressed by this theater. The staff couldn't have been nicer....very welcoming to my friend and I since it was our first time there. Will DEFINITELY return. Cozy, intimate, great band and good stage sets.
First time here. Had a great time. Should have gone earlier to enjoy all they have to offer. I will do that next time
Good value season side like folding chairs.very overpriced meals and food
My first time at this theater, very nice venue. Very comfortable seats.
As a rule I enjoy the productions at the Phoenix but the current production of Cooking a Drag is just not entertainment. It's a collection, and that's being kind, of assorted songs that a 10 year old cold have written accompanied by a combo that way over powered the singers. The second have was a bit better with the appearance of the Queen and some funny lines plus a very quick spot with the Star answering questions posed by the audience.
One of my favorite live venues. The productions are usually excellent, and with 2 theaters, they stage a variety of productions, from family-friendly to dark or challenging. We have season tickets and they offer flexibility.
These guys are VERY talented. Never been disappointed!
We saw "You Can't Say That" last night. Just Wonderful!! It's a comedy that courageously transcends the labels, left and right, to find a common humanity. Quality writing and acting, good staging (a well-used sparse set) --the entire experience left us feeling more connected, more human than any art event (dance, theater, exhibition) we've attended in ages. My hope is you have a chance to see this work.
And kudos to the Phoenix Theater facility and staff, we always enjoy the lobby/restaurant and its customer service. The venue's seating provides good visibility and acoustics, with a feeling of intimacy.
Beautiful intimate venue. Lovely bar for drinks. Great staff.
Great show tonight. Little Shop of Horrors was so well done!
Just saw "Kinky Boots" which is marvelous! The cast soars in a story that resonates with everyone. The theater itself is lovely, as is the connected restaurant. You're in for a treat.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, was originally a little slow to attend based on the higher ticket prices compared to other theatres but I am so glad we went. We saw The Sound of Music
Jersey Boys was amazing. Such a great performance. The Bistro staff was great as well.
Nice small theatre with great shows with reasonable prices. Located next to the Phoenix art Museum. Friendly bar and bistro for hanging out before and after show.
I saw Billy Elliot here a while ago. It was fantastic! I totally recommend this place to anybody who would like to see a great show!
Nice little place. Clean. Main Entrance and parking is on North side of building.
This theater is easy to find, has good seating & the acoustics are very good.
I always enjoy the plays . Jersey Boys was fantastic .
Our family has always enjoyed to make memories at the theatre. We have seen some incredible shows here such as Mary Poppins, The Toxic Avenger, and Les Miserables to name a few. My daughters love the summer camp and have loved the opportunity to follow in their great grandmothers footsteps.
Fantastic! Fun Home was an outstanding g production. The actors were wonderful, as well as the story.
The Phoenix Theater is a great place to see plays. However, cooking's a drag had a nonsensical plot line, just okay songs, and wasn't a really good play. Looking forward two other places. The part of Betty / Bobby was done very well. I think he could use his talents in a much better one woman show.
Great smaller theater. All seats had a good view of the stage. Loved the performance. Nice that they have a restaurant onsite.
For my husband s birthday, I surprised him with two tickets to Spamilton. To say that we were disappointed is a gross understatement. We were confused and bewildered, staring at each other in a disbelieving stupor at the utter nonsense being laid before us. Although the actors voices were amazing and the choreography was great, the content was frankly the most bizarre thing I have ever seen, a befuddling mix of references to not only the original Hamilton actors themselves (Lin-Manuel, Leslie Odom, etc.), but also containing the most obscure facts about each of the Hamilton actors, which nobody in their sane mind would ever know. I mean, I consider my husband and I to be RABID Hamilton fans (I was lucky enough to see Hamilton in Gammage) and even we had no clue what was going on. And if that wasn t strange enough, they also chewed up and regurgitated every single Broadway reference that ever was, including, but not limited to: Annie, The Book of Mormon, Liza Minnelli, Bernadette Peters, Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, Into the Woods, The Music Man, Rent, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Kinky Boots, Cats, The Lion King, Steven Sondheim. And that list is being conservative. It was so confusing, that I wouldn t even call it remotely entertaining. I honestly had no clue what was going on 90 percent of the time. My husband and I considered walking out, but since we were on narrow risers with seats placed on them (we weren t even in a real theater!), we couldn t move without disturbing other guests. At $78 dollars a seat, and with a well-established company celebrating its 100 year anniversary, I expected a lot more. I just wish I could get my money, and the hour of my life spent listening to that nonsense, back. Sorry, honey- worst birthday gift ever.
Great time, atmosphere is great and performances always wonderful.
Wonderful play, the Elf. Nice small theater. Friendly staff. There are places to eat right there are the theater. Free parking. Every seat is good.
Nice small venue .Every seat is a good seat. Full production value stage and lighting
Godspell was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! Sooo much talent, energy and entertainment. I wanna go again!!
My husband and i went last night to this theater for the first time since they have remodeled. We had dinner at the restaurant there beforehand. Very reasonably priced although the drinks were pricey but delicious. And the show was fantastic!
Nice small audience theater. Seat comfortability could be better.
We saw Avenue Q last night. It was a great experience.
Saw "Something Wicked This Way Comes". VIP gets great seats and a goodie bag with autographed play poster. Performance excellent, great technical, wonderful costumes, and great service (ushers, ticket taker). I look forward to seeing more plays here!
Cute little theatre. We saw Avenue Q here which I saw in NYC previous. It was still just as funny. They changed it slightly.
Got a GREAT deal for 2 tickets and EVERYONE was VERY friendly!!! Thank you Phoenix for this amazing evening, now everyone that I know in Maryland is going to hear about the Phoenix Theatre.
