About Owf

The Order of Women Freemasons is the oldest and largest Masonic organisation for women in this country and works on the lines of regular male Freemasonry.

Owf: The Order of Women Freemasons

The Order of Women Freemasons, commonly known as Owf, is the oldest and largest Masonic organization for women in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1908, Owf has been working on the lines of regular male Freemasonry to promote brotherhood, charity, and truth among its members.

Owf is a unique organization that provides women with an opportunity to become part of a fraternal society that values moral and spiritual development. The organization's core values are based on the principles of charity, morality, and brotherhood. Members are encouraged to live by these principles both within their personal lives and in their interactions with others.

One of Owf's primary objectives is to provide support for charitable causes. Members work together to raise funds for various charities across the country. They also participate in community service projects such as volunteering at local hospitals or schools.

Owf has a rich history that spans over a century. The organization was founded by Miss Elizabeth St Leger Aldworth (later Countess of Donoughmore) who was initiated into Freemasonry by her father at his lodge in Cork, Ireland. She went on to establish her own lodge which eventually became known as The Honourable Fraternity of Antient Masonry.

Today Owf has over 4,000 members across more than 300 lodges throughout England and Wales. Membership is open to any woman who believes in God or a Supreme Being regardless of race or religion.

As an organization dedicated to promoting moral values and charitable causes among its members, Owf places great emphasis on education and self-improvement. Members are encouraged to pursue personal growth through study groups focused on topics such as philosophy or history.

In addition to its charitable work and educational programs, Owf also provides opportunities for social interaction among its members through various events such as dinners or dances held throughout the year.

If you're interested in becoming part of a fraternal society that values moral and spiritual development, Owf may be the perfect organization for you. With its rich history, commitment to charitable causes, and focus on personal growth, Owf offers a unique opportunity for women to become part of a community dedicated to making a positive impact in the world.
