I second Peter Kartal's review. I took the beginning free diving class offered by the owner, Dan. Students in our class came from all over the state and as far away as Seattle to learn from the pros. The class was top notch, the instructors were extremely experienced, patient, well qualified and excellent teachers. I was extremely impressed with the course and the professionalism of all the instructors. For beginning free divers like me, there can be a lot of mental challenges to overcome and you have to trust your instructors literally with your life. During the course and the diving qualifications I never felt uncomfortable, hurried, ignored, worried about what we were being asked to do, or doubted for a minute that I would be asked to do something unsafe. The equipment I rented was excellent, and the student rental rate was super cheap. I highly recommend The Oregon Freediving Co. to anyone interested in getting in to freediving, or needing to buy or rent the right gear.

Happy to leave Oregon freediving company a 5star review. I have taken recreational and professional courses from Dan and Talya. They are truly top shelf instructors. With Dan s teaching background he has a gift for conveying information. Talya s has such a passion for freediving it s impossible to not get stoked right along with her. They are both extremely strong divers and I have always felt 100% safe in the classes and whenever I m in the water with them. Look forward to diving with you guys in the future.

Awesome Place to go to if you are interested in spear fishing. The owner of the shop, Dan, Is very knowledgeable and has classes for beginners, and expert free divers. Plus, he does guiding services for spear fishing! I would recommend taking his beginner class if you haven't taken any yet and are interested in spear fishing. I took the class, and learned many life saving tips and tricks considering it is a dangerous sport. Shop is a friendly place all around! The hours are posted online, but sometimes he is in the shop after hours, and sometimes he is out of town. I would give a call before you head up to make sure he is there

Was in the area and needed to get a wet suit. Called in about a specific one and they happened to have that, so I dropped by to try it out. Everybody was super nice and helpful with ALLLLLL my questions. They gave great pointers in regards to the wet suits I've tried on, but I had to think about which is best for my situation. Once I've decided, I'm definitely going to go back to them for it.

Had a great experience purchasing a new speargun and some other accessories. I returned the first one because I just wasn't totally in love with it, just personal preferences, and the return was painless and Dan special ordered the gun I ended up with and then due to my goofy schedule and the fact that it was Christmas and I was leaving for vacation the next day he hand-delivered it to my place of employment. I feel fortunate, especially considering the relatively small freediving/spearfishing community we have here, to have a local shop where I can actually pick things up and try things on and get good advice. Anyone who's had to pay double or more the value of a small item due to the shipping involved will appreciate it for that reason as well.
