Ordsall Hall is a stunningly beautiful historical building in Salford that really showcases the areas history. They have many rooms set up and when you step inside its like you've stepped back in time. Its truly fascinating

Absolutely brilliant. A trip back in time surrounded by businesses and houses. Seems out of place but is an oasis. An incredibly old building with so much history. Great for adults and children in fact heaps of things for children to do. More

A wonderful way to spend 1-2 hours. The personal welcome from staff was unexpected and very useful. Try and find the pomegranate and oakleaf painting and the grapevine wooden carving. It's good to know the history of where you live, I feel more connected to Salford now.

Lovely old building that is in stark contrast to the modern city buildings that have built up on its doorstep.

We had a guided tour and the guide was very friendly,passionate and knowledgeable about the building and its history. We had already done a fair bit of research before visiting so she was able to tell us some of the lesser known history.

We have visited many, many old buildings but had never been able to access the attics; however, here you are able to go up and see how the walls and roof were made. There is even signs of graffiti that were scrawled on the walls in the 16yh century when people were hiding there up in the attic.

We will definitely be back. They have their own on-site parking that is a reasonably pay and display price.

If you visit the hall now...it does still look a little odd in its surroundings...with an industrial estate and council flats and houses around it...but it is buoyed by the more modern and cosmopolitan Quays area. However...in the mid 80s when we visited from school...it was even more bizarre to see such a beautiful building (newlyish refurbished) in such a dingy and depressing location. Times change though and it is now sort of fitting in its locale. Well worth a visit and a five minute walk from the tram stop...limited opening hours however so definitely plan ahead.

Wonderful staff who are so well informed on the house and grounds.
So much fun for the kids (aged 4-11) and lots of dress up. I just thought they would be there for an hour and get bored but they could stay there for 2-3 hours!

What a wonderful surprise to find this gem. Lovely house with great, friendly staff. Fun and interesting for children.

Gem of a Tudor house. Fully restored with continued restoration, and fully furnished to the period. Free entry (donations can be popped in a box on the way out) To be honest it's worth an entrance fee. Car Parking on site available for small charge. Cafe facililities, good toilet facilities, and dress up period style available including kids. Short variety of historical films on the history of the house and families and also the local area. Well worth a visit!
