Opera Wilmington is a non-profit organization that has been bringing fully staged operas and concerts to a diverse audience in the Wilmington, NC area since 2012. With a mission to make opera accessible and enjoyable for everyone, Opera Wilmington has become an integral part of the cultural landscape in this vibrant coastal city.

At Opera Wilmington, we believe that opera is not just for the elite or those with a certain level of education. Our productions feature world-class singers and musicians who bring their talent and passion to every performance. From classic operas like Carmen and La Traviata to contemporary works like Dead Man Walking and The Consul, our repertoire spans centuries and genres.

Our productions are fully staged with elaborate sets, costumes, lighting design, and choreography. We want our audiences to feel like they're part of the story unfolding on stage.

In addition to producing operas throughout the year, Opera Wilmington also offers educational programs for students of all ages. Our outreach programs include workshops on singing technique, acting skills for performers interested in musical theater or opera roles as well as masterclasses led by professional singers who share their expertise with aspiring artists.
