Ooznest has really nailed it with this machine. As a compact solution for home use, it’s absolutely top-notch. If you are in the market, my recommendation is to maximize the specs—opt for every available upgrade and choose the biggest model that your workspace can accommodate.

Ooznest has produced an exceptional first CNC machine. The assembly was a delightful experience, and the step-by-step guide made it incredibly straightforward. Beyond the enjoyable build, the performance is outstanding; it delivers precise results while offering enough power to cut through materials effortlessly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and powerful machine.

I bought some wood filament from Ooznest to test out a 3D model of a cup designed to look carved from wood. Since it was just a sample, I couldn't print it at full size, but after resizing the file and adjusting the temperature, I went ahead with the print. The results were quite impressive for the small scale; while the detail wasn't perfect due to the size, I'm confident that printing at full scale with some tweaking of the settings would yield a brilliant finish. Plus, the print really does smell like wood! I’m seriously considering buying a full spool of this filament from Ooznest in the future.

I’m really impressed with this purchase from Ooznest. I haven’t started using the light just yet because it doesn’t fit while the dustboot is still attached, but that’s fine for now. I decided not to replace the brushes right away since the old ones still had about 50% of their life left when I removed them. They seemed a bit brittle at the tips, but after cleaning them up, they are as good as new. Five stars!

Switching to this bed from the standard factory unit on my Ooznest printer was a noticeable upgrade. The surface feels more substantial and offers a better texture than the original. I’ve already completed four or five prints without needing any extra adhesive, though that may vary depending on the material. The price is reasonable for the quality, and I am very pleased with the performance so far.

Having just started using Ooznest, I’m already impressed. The build surface here feels like a significant upgrade in quality compared to the old Lokbuild sheets. Installation was straightforward, and my initial prints are adhering perfectly. Only time will tell how durable this surface proves to be, but so far, so good!

I’m giving Ooznest a neutral rating for this collet designed for a 43mm shank milling motor. While their support confirmed that the design is correct, I found it necessary to apply significant torque to actually secure the tool. It feels like it requires more force than necessary to hold the motor firmly in place.

Ooznest’s limit switch does the job as described, making it a suitable substitute for the original unit that failed due to wire damage from the drag chain. However, the build quality could be improved; the wires are quite thin and lack sufficient insulation for demanding environments. The design is fragile enough that even minor mounting inconsistencies can lead to renewed damage, forcing you to repeat the replacement process. A more robust construction would make a significant difference.

Ooznest materials deliver a nice result, though I found there was quite a bit of stringing to deal with. It’s likely something you can adjust in settings, but it does mean extra time spent cleaning up the model. On the bright side, the filament has a lovely aroma while printing, and the final piece retains that toasted wood scent. Overall, a solid 4-star experience.

I gave the XL gantry plate a solid 5 stars because it did exactly what I needed: it fits perfectly onto a couple of 20x80mm V-slot linear rails from Ooznest, despite their own claim that it wouldn't. It’s clear they lack some mechanical engineering depth here, likely because they are just reselling an OpenBuilds product rather than manufacturing it. Still, the part is good quality and gets the job done.

Ooznest delivered a solid build surface that’s simple to trim with a box cutter, but I ended up returning it. PLA stuck too firmly to the bed, making part removal a struggle even after tweaking the gap and layer height. Support from Ooznest was prompt and helpful, but their tweaks didn’t solve the issue. The sheet itself is a bit too finicky to use regularly, so I’ve switched to a different brand.

Ooznest has nailed it with this filament. It not only prints smoothly but also captures the authentic scent of real wood. The post-processing finish is genuinely impressive, looking and feeling remarkably close to the real thing. A top-quality product that truly delivers on its promises.

Solid hardware from Ooznest. Configuration took some time to figure out for my specific setup, especially since the riprap config initially pointed the home position to (0,0,0) when my Duet was set to (0,0,5). The riprap code page was useful, but I had to dive into the Duet forums for help with recent updates, like how to code the reverse signal for my Z-probe (changing i1 to just !). I’ve mounted the Duet3D board inside a desktop case with external JST sockets, making it portable and ready for future printer upgrades. It handles a hot end up to 300°C perfectly; I’m using a thermocouple instead of a thermistor to monitor those high temps accurately. I did have Wi-Fi issues with DWC disconnecting, but the problem turned out to be my router set to channel 6. Switching it to auto channel fixed it, and now everything works great.

Planning to use this for my 2021 Christmas light show. I’ve done some preliminary testing and everything is working perfectly so far. One thing I really appreciate is the terminal covers, which are a nice touch compared to other brands I’ve seen. Plus, they are quite affordable here at Ooznest.

I bought this kit from Ooznest for my Bear 2.1 frame and it was exactly what I needed. It comes with everything required to assemble the frame, including a full set of M5 screws and 89 of their new stainless steel T-nuts. I also appreciated the inclusion of assorted extra screws, pins, and other small components. A complete and well-thought-out package from a UK supplier.
