One Warm Coat's mission is to provide free coats to children and adults in need while promoting volunteerism and environmental sustainability
One Warm Coat: Providing Free Coats to Those in Need
One Warm Coat is a non-profit organization that has been providing free coats to children and adults in need for over 25 years. The organization was founded with the mission of promoting volunteerism and environmental sustainability while helping those who are less fortunate stay warm during the cold winter months.
The idea behind One Warm Coat is simple yet powerful. The organization collects gently used coats from individuals, schools, businesses, and other organizations across the country. These coats are then distributed to local agencies such as homeless shelters, schools, churches, and community centers where they can be given directly to those who need them most.
Since its inception in 1992, One Warm Coat has collected and distributed over six million coats across the United States. This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the support of volunteers who donate their time and resources to help make a difference in their communities.
Volunteerism is at the heart of One Warm Coat's mission. The organization encourages individuals and groups to get involved by hosting coat drives or volunteering at local distribution events. By doing so, volunteers not only help provide warmth for those in need but also promote environmental sustainability by keeping unwanted clothing out of landfills.
In addition to its core mission of providing free coats to those in need, One Warm Coat also works with corporate partners on various initiatives aimed at making a positive impact on society. For example, the organization has partnered with Macy's department store on an annual coat drive that collects thousands of new coats each year for distribution across the country.
One Warm Coat's impact goes beyond just providing warmth during cold weather months; it also helps build stronger communities by bringing people together around a common cause. By working together towards a shared goal of helping others stay warm during winter months while promoting volunteerism and environmental sustainability we can make our world a better place one coat at a time.
In conclusion, if you're looking for an opportunity to give back this winter season or any other time throughout the year consider getting involved with One Warm Coat today! Whether you choose to host your own coat drive or volunteer at one of their many distribution events there are countless ways you can make a difference in your community while supporting this amazing cause!
