The Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1981 by the State of New York to manage and promote winter sports facilities in the Adirondack region. The resort has been consistently ranked as one of the top ski resorts in North America by various publications such as SKI Magazine. The resort offers a variety of terrain for all skill levels from beginner to expert.
Gore Mountain Ski Resort is another popular ski resort managed by ORDA located in North Creek, NY. The resort has over 110 trails spread across four peaks with a vertical drop of over 2,500 feet. Gore Mountain also offers night skiing on select trails.
The Lake Placid Olympic Center Complex is home to several ice rinks including the Herb Brooks Arena which hosted the "Miracle on Ice" game during the 1980 Winter Olympics where Team USA defeated Russia in men's ice hockey.
