I keep my line on a DIY spool made from a pool noodle to minimize memory. It takes some getting used to tracking the fly itself rather than the line, but the payoff is huge. This setup is fantastic for targeting fish that are easily spooked by the sight of a traditional fly line. A solid 4 stars for its specialized utility.

My experience fishing for false albacore with Ole Florida Fly Shop's gear was just okay. I found that this fly really underperformed when used with live bait, although it seems to work fine for small live bait presentations like many other patterns. It’s not exactly an original design, but at least it is durable.

The Gummy Minnow is a fantastic saltwater lure, offering both realistic appearance and excellent movement. I recommend tying it using a Non-Slip Loop Knot to maximize its action. One small tip for buyers: ask for your order to be shipped in a rigid box rather than a padded envelope. My set arrived in the latter and the minnows were stuck together, leading to some damage when I separated them. However, Ole Florida Fly Shop handled the situation perfectly by sending replacements, which is typical of their awesome customer service. I truly believe this pattern has the potential to become a classic.

Having tested plenty of wire cutters over the years, including reliable names like Klein, I can confidently say these are in a league of their own. They allow for that crucial close proximity needed when working with fine wire on nymph patterns. Truly the best tool for the job.

I’m really happy with this line from Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton. The extra weight in the front makes it a breeze to cast poppers and streamers, and it pairs perfectly with my 9wt rod. When the coating did start to wear, Rio stepped up and replaced it for free. Great service and a solid product!

These hooks are a game-changer for tying effective bend-back patterns for heavy cover. The design profile is spot-on, and the overall quality is top-notch. I used to bend my own hooks for this purpose, but after trying these, I switched exclusively to this gear. Highly recommended for anyone serious about their tackle.

I’m a regular at Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton and I really appreciate their selection, including these jig bombs. The design is clever because it keeps the fly head cleaner compared to traditional dumbbell eyes, which I’ve tested with patterns like Clousers and lightbulbs. However, I’ve encountered a durability issue. Roughly a third of them snap off, leaving a tiny piece embedded in the tie. This seems to happen mostly when dragging them over rough structure like oyster bars or mangrove roots, whereas they hold up fine over sand. It’s a solid concept, but I hope they can improve the material strength so they survive harder debris better.

I recently purchased from Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton and was thoroughly impressed. The product I ordered matched the description perfectly and suited my needs exactly. It’s clear why this hunting and fishing store has built such a solid reputation among its customers.

For my saltwater streamers and baitfish patterns, this is now my go-to hook. I specifically avoided stainless steel so the hooks will rust if I leave one in a fish. They are incredibly sharp, small-barbed, wide-gape, and strong—hooking reliably every time. Best of all, you get 100 per pack, which is perfect since I tie frequently and always hated the tiny boxes. A solid choice for any angler in Boca Raton who wants value without sacrificing quality.

Picked these hooks for snook fishing in Boca Raton and they are a fantastic find. The wire balance is perfect—light enough to punch through tough mouths but sturdy enough to hold a fight. The wide gap works brilliantly for topwater lures, making hookups reliable. Definitely a solid choice for serious anglers.

As an Ole Florida Fly Shop customer, I was quite let down by this material. For my specific needs, it felt too rigid and heavy, lacking that natural splay and distinctive 'crinkle' of genuine buck tail. It also ties up differently, resulting in a bulky profile rather than the flat, streamlined finish you get when winding thread over real hair. It completely overpowered my saddle hackles, and my attempts to tie Deceivers with it were largely unsuccessful. While it might suit other purposes, for my requirements, it was a total failure.

Ole Florida Fly Shop has been my go-to for years. I rely on their antron yarn for countless fly-tying needs—wings, posts, tails, you name it. I even use the fluorescent variants as indicators. Honestly, once you switch to this quality, you just can't use anything else.

Ole Florida Fly Shop has truly nailed it with this lure. The side-to-side wobble paired with the floating diver action gives it a lifelike movement that rivals the reliability of a Rapala, but with the added benefit of being castable. I’ve landed everything from big Gillies and Smallies to Pike, Walleye, and Browns using this fly. Whether the water is warm or cold, it’s a must-have addition to your gear.

I can confidently say that Ole Florida Fly Shop carries the authentic Flexo Cord, and it is truly one-of-a-kind. As a dedicated angler here in Boca Raton, I rely on these exact materials to tie my absolute favorite saltwater pattern: the Flexo Crab. Using genuine cord makes the tying process so much smoother. Although I primarily cast to the surf at Padre Island and the flats of Laguna Madre in Texas, I know this specific cord is a top producer for that fly. You really can't beat the quality you get from them.

I recently visited Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton and was impressed by the quality of their gear. The feather patches I purchased were perfect for my needs, offering exactly the right dimensions and width. It’s clear they pay attention to the details that matter to anglers and hunters.

I keep a supply of Gummy Minnows in every single fly box I own. At Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton, I’ve found these to be the ultimate choice for targeting Cero and Spanish Mackerel around the reefs, as well as Blackfin Tuna and Mahi when we’re working the weed lines. They also perform exceptionally well under dock lights for species like Moonfish, Snook, Tarpon, and Mangrove Snapper, and are perfect for freshwater predators in our local lakes and canals. The versatility is great since they work with both floating and sinking lines. Plus, they are incredibly tough; I’ve landed over a dozen mackerel and four Jack Crevalle on a single fly before needing to replace it.

I’ve been fishing with Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton for a while now, and this reel is hands down the best in its weight class. It’s incredibly smooth and lightweight, with excellent build quality and specs that are hard to beat. I’m really happy with it. The IPX8 rating down to 100 feet is a huge plus, too. Unlike many brands that just claim their drags are sealed without proof, Lamson delivers on that promise—this one is genuinely sealed and built to last.

Ole Florida Fly Shop delivered exactly what was promised. The product is incredibly vibrant and perfect for tying up some new flies. I was impressed by the fast shipping—just four or five days—and couldn’t find a better deal anywhere else, especially with the free shipping thrown in. Great value and quality!

Shopped at Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton for my Cortland clear line. After using it on two trips to Mexico and Belize, I’m pretty disappointed. The line holds onto its coil memory way too much, which led to frequent tangles. It’s also quite bulky for an 8-weight rod, creating a noticeable splash on the water. While it does pass through the guides smoothly, the line feels overly stiff.

I’ve been fishing around Boca Raton for a while now, and the gear from Ole Florida Fly Shop really holds up. I’m using a size 1 XS435, which is perfect for hitting peacocks and largemouths in our weedy local waters. The 2XH shank gives a solid base for bendback patterns, and the high-carbon steel has taken a beating from both peacocks and jaguar fish without failing. I actually caught an 18-inch peacock using a size 6 XS435 that was originally designed for trout, and the hook is still in great shape.

I was genuinely impressed by the durability of these boots from Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton; they feel incredibly tough. The finish is excellent, and the build is substantial—they are definitely on the heavier side and run a bit small, so I recommend sizing up by half or a full size. The rubber soles are quite thick, adding to the sturdy feel.

Tying bonefish patterns is so much easier with Ole Florida Fly Shop’s gear. I specifically use their shrimp dub in the .75 brush size for both clear and sand colors, and it’s become my go-to for consistent, high-quality flies. Truly excellent product for the serious angler.

Spending my fall through spring seasons fishing on foot and from a paddleboard in Abaco, I can confidently say Ole Florida Fly Shop has the finest saltwater tying materials I have ever encountered. They are incredibly reliable and always deliver exactly what they promise.

For the money, the Ole Florida Fly Shop has a solid option here. I picked this up last year and have landed quite a few fish with it. It’s a lightweight reel, which is great, but it does have some quirks. The drag knob has a gap that can snag your line, and once you break it in, the drag becomes virtually silent. If you hook big steelhead and hate the sound of a screaming drag, this might be perfect for you. Just be aware of the line catch issue.

I recently ordered from Ole Florida Fly Shop and was impressed by how quickly the package arrived. It was already waiting for me in the mailbox when I got back from work. As someone who fishes the Indian River almost daily and hits the beach a few times a month, I needed a new tackle solution. I’m not doing much fly fishing these days because of a back issue, so I wanted something low-impact for shoreline walks. I packed the bag with two boxes of artificial lures, eight packs of hooks, various plastic baits, jig heads, and spools of leader material in 15, 20, and 30-pound test. I even tossed in an old film canister for weights. Everything fit perfectly. I filled two water bottles, grabbed my rod, and headed out. I ended up walking nearly three miles, and the bag held up beautifully. It was extremely comfortable and didn’t sag, even with the weight. I barely noticed I was carrying it. Ole Florida Fly Shop really hit it out of the park. They should definitely consider marketing to conventional anglers too.

After a dozen hard poling sessions for tarpon on charters, these gloves from Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton are still in pristine condition with no loose threads. They are also incredibly easy to manipulate when tying knots. Recommended by Capt. Dave Saddler from Biscayne Bay.

Just picked up a Sage X rod from Ole Florida Fly Shop in Boca Raton and I am thoroughly impressed. The rod delivers exactly the power and sensitivity I was looking for, making it perfect for those tricky trout in warm water. It’s a high-quality piece of gear that truly justifies the price tag. Highly recommend for anyone serious about their fishing setup.
