Concert was fantastic! Acoustics Great. However, what is the point of having a chair height requirement if most folks stand up literally the entire concert and you are on the grass and can't see anything if you are sitting or laying down? Can't even see the two boards with close ups of the bands because standers block the view. Also people can smoke--that was a surprise. If you are on the grass, I suggest you get up to the very front if you want to sit down.
Attended an outdoor show on beautiful night to watch one of our favorite bands. We were unaware of the chair height rule that requires low profile chairs that sit no more than 8 inches off the ground and had to leave our chairs at guest services. They did offer chair rental for $5 a chair. Restrooms were clean, merchandise table was fast and friendly. They had a beer listed on their board that they did not have that night , and then the volunteer over charged me for the beer I ordered and gave me incorrect change back, so be aware. Security was visible and friendly. Only gripe was the amount of smoking and vaping that happened in the seating area. We had tickets for the lawn and it was super crowded and no event staff seemed to make their way up there.
Best venue in Hampton Roads. Parking is generally ample, acoustics are great, location next to the water is beautiful. Getting out after the show is easy. Well done, Portsmouth!

This outdoor venue is a hidden secret in Portsmouth, VA. If you haven't attended a concert here, you must. It is the perfect atmosphere. On a nice spring or summer evening, it's wonderful. It is nestled in downtown Portsmouth, on the port. When you are inside the pavilion, you are also next to water (pictured). They also host different festivals, and there is always a subtle police presence. If you need an officer, you can find one. Otherwise, they leave you alone, to have a good time.
