There is too much to talk about so I'll keep it short. The communication here is horrible. I received quite a bit of miscommunication from the start but I said I would give it a chance. My second course was delayed due to one of my instructors not grading my assignment on time. I gave another pass. However, it's now the day of the next course I haven't been able to get in. I've reached out to my advisor with no success. Then to make matters worse I received emails from my advisor saying that I was absent a total of 13 days when I was not even registered in a course at that time. There is a lot of run around here. I would not recommend this university. In fact, I'm in the process of looking for another one. I usually don't leave negative comments but I have to make sure that other prospects are aware before they choose this university. Turn back now! Lastly, financial aid was never released so I'm not even sure if I will have to pay anything out of pocket. I've been told I won't but with the miscommunication I'm not sure what to believe honestly.
I'm close to completing the third class towards my Doctorate of Business Administration and the folks at NCU have been responsive and helpful. I've interacted with reps with the IT helpdesk, library, academic success center, in enrollment and financial aid, and professors, advisors, and administrators. All good experiences, even changing my DBA specialization. The course work is challenging and the professors provide constructive feedback. I have access to ample on-line publications, tools, and learning sessions and services to help along the way. I will certainly post if things change, but I'm totally satisfied at this point.
I love NCU. My first course in my MSW was wonderful. My 2nd course however, is still not finished because I've been so very I'll. My advisor has been a Godsend! He is absolutely wonderful!!! He helped me get an extension and explained everything I needed to know. Sean Baker knows it all!!!
They are too high pressure trying to sell their school. In one day, I received multiple calls and emails from different people. It was non- stop and I had to block them. I had received emails and calls before this. Made me wonder what was going on- what school does that?
I have a positive and healthy experience with NCU, I did what need to be done so as I did follow the instructions the professors have given... step by step and I got all my assignments ready and well done with only A and A- as my grade. To be successful you need to be obedient, resourceful, compliant, HONEST, disciplined, determined, have a positive outlook in life, a good perspective and healthy values in life. I came from a poor country and family, and doing work was never a hindrance for me to be successful. So for those readers who review negative feed backs will produce nothing. Whatever school you are in if you have a negative perspective and issues in your self etc. you WILL NEVER be make it unless you change the way you think and how you value life. To have a degree is because its the school... NO!...but because you worked hard for it.... get the good stuff don't ever relay on what people say... do things what is good for you and your future.
Incredibly unhelpful. I inquired via email about transfer credit & alternative credit is accepted. It s literally stated in NCU s current catalog that they do - I just wanted to double check so that when I apply to transfer to NCU there wouldn t be any surprises.. well a representative got back to me but all they said was the opposite of what they re catalog says.. then I sent an email to the office of the provost.. no one has gotten back to me.. it s been weeks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL.
I just completed my PhD at Northcentral University. For the most part it is an excellent school. While I did have difficulty with one professor, the issue was resolved quickly and professionally. As an individual who worked full time while getting my degree, I love the fact that I could follow my own schedule to meet required deadlines. The professors were very helpful, and I did not have long periods to wait for answers to any questions I had regarding assignments. Overall, my experience was good, and I would recommend the school to other individuals seeking a quality education.
I m 3 classes from completing my MBA. The academic side has been good; the other services not great. On the positive side, responsive professors and useful content. I honestly think if you communicate regularly and do the work it s a good program.
They have some problems on the support side, particularly with Financial Aid. The advising staff is friendly and wants to help, but when answers are needed they seem to have to search for help to get them (possibly unavailable or over-assigned supervisors). I ve had several glitches along the way with my Financial Aid where steps in the process were supposed to happen automatically and didn t. The fix apparently was a ticket submission, then waiting for another department to complete an action. This has resulted in significant delays that are well past the time period quoted by the university.
**Editing a few months later: my issue was finally fixed but it took an inordinate amount of time. I still think if you are depending on financial aid be wary, but if you are paying out of pocket or similar you will likely have a good experience. I do enjoy the academics and even the professors with whom I didn t connect were professional.
Financial aid process is long. If you expect to receive a stipend, don't expect to see it until the end of your semester.
Please be aware if you want to enroll at Northcentral University. They will charge you for classes even if you don't enroll in them or take them. I am stuck paying $2000 for a class I never took, or they threatened to turn it into my credit. Had I known this ahead of time I would not have taken classes there.
