NORMANBY HOTEL

Really nice Sunday lunch with my wife and baby son. Steak was one of the best I've had for a long time. The dog house restaurant was a good choice with the baby. Nice and quiet and comfortable. Service was excellent as well. Very friendly staff.

New management has done a really good job in decorating the place

Great spot to go for a few drinks, beer garden is class. Only issue is having to pay $28 for a chicken parmi and getting a coles chicken leg with a bit of ham and cheese on it. But yeah all round not bad

$18 steak sandwich which was cold, had plastic grated cheese, sickly sweet BBQ sauce all round just a waste of money. Will not be going back.

What an incredible experience! Every time I go to The Normanby I find myself in some sort of Australian Pub Food Heaven. These guys have great steak, great chicken parmys and their specials are spot on. Would Highly Recommend to anyone!

New menu is a big change and refreshing to the joint. I believe GM Simon is doing an amazing job. Have worked hospitality for 6 years and watching him manage crew is good, best at what he s doing. Massive change for Normanby for the best !

Had a great event under the new owners. They were awesome at organizing an event space and catering last minute. The venue looks great with the renos, food was delicious, and all the staff were helpful and friendly the whole night.

Food was so good we went twice in our 5 day visit Their trivia night looked like a lot of fun too!

Welcome back The Normanby. Brilliant refurb, been there a couple of times now, atmosphere, food, service has been top notch. Also, if you fancy something different to a standard pub quiz head there on Wednesday evenings, great fun.

Nice pub and good meals, just remember if you go outside after 10pm to take your ID or you can't get back in.

I had my birthday party here last month and I was less than impressed. I couldnt set the room up before the event even thought] I was told I could, the food came out over an hour after it was meant to therefore food was still coming out when we were doing the cake. Just wasn't the night I expected to have here.

The refurbishment looks fantastic! It has a nice vibe and feel to it, especially the beer garden. Plenty of parking at non peak times and right across the road from the normanby bus station. Haven't really eaten too much food bit have tried a lizza which was yum. But the highlight is the trivia on Wednesday nights... what a blast! Highly recommend the normanby

Good value schnitzel, worth a look on any day except Sunday

Front of house staff were awesome. Bar staff were pretty rude and just kept talking to their fellow workers instead of serving

The Normanby is kind of lame and the food is overpriced and nothing special.
Good place for work lunches etc though as parking is easy and it s a reasonably central location.
Best suited for fans of things like mafs & Sunrise on Seven I d say.

Wow, what a change. A revitalised Normanby Hotel, completely renovated, looking loved and well cared-for. Food was great; they have free function rooms for meetings; it's split into many different areas and works really well. Good for the owners - what a fantastic job.

Lunch food uninspiring bland duck salad and frozen processed meat burger all very dull and chef-lazy offerings

Unlikely to return as we are spoilt with other nearby more thoughtful options.

Good food, seating is average and some of the staff rush you even though it's on a quiet day having a family meal

Went for lunch and the meals were good value ,this hotel is showing it's age but was tidy and clean .The service was friendly and I would return.

Wednesday $12 chicken parmey and pizza night. Great value.

Staff are incredibly rude, refuse to honour promo prices, refuse to contact manager for any problems, food was damp and cold, refused to refund

Staff are super friendly. Great place for "Father of the Bride to be" to park himself while the girls check out 'White Lily Couture'.

Only the tree is down, everything else is just as good

Service was horrible waited 1 hour for drinks and food to come to the table. The waiters didn t even realise that a table of 10 were sitting down for an hour for food. None of them came to the table to asked us for anything after we ordered when we sat down. It was very disappointing.

I had a few negative experiences in the past but when I went again today to take advantage of it's half price menu, I was pleasantly surprised that the quality of the steak I ordered far expected my expectations.

I ordered a medium-rare eye fillet and it came out just as I ordered. Portion size was a bit on the lower end and I definitely would not pay the full price for the meal I had.

Good live music.

Overall, a decent place to dine.

Good service and food, nice atmosphere, but I do find them a bit pricey. Their daily food specials are very limited. I would be inclined to seek better value elsewhere. Also, considering their wines are on tap, I find their carafe (750ml) prices to be over the top. Well above the usual bottle prices in similar venues.

We had a group of friends last Saturday night for dinner, 50% off the meal, (great) we could get our meal in 20 minutes if we ordered off the express menu and were told if we ordered off the standard menu it could take up to 1/2 hour, (fair enough). After 40 minutes of not receiving all of the 20 minute meals we enquired as to why they were taking so long and also we ordered a few meals of the main menu, after being fobbed off for over an hour we started getting a bit frustrated. (I take my hat off the waiters they really did try to help us). Finally and hour and a half later we got our final meal, which was half cold, but hey it was food!!!! Also the oysters kilpatrick came out in tomato sauce???? For all our trouble they gave us a round of drinks on the house, BIG DEAL!!!!

Great staff even as COVID-19 meant that table service was mandatory. These staff members really stood up - they were engaging and seemed like they were happy to be there.

Good atmosphere and very friendly staff although I'm almost sure there drinks were watered down, I was thinking it independently and then a friend also mentioned it to me. Prices are reasonable, food was great.

Stuff!!!.The pub is quiet and not filled with young pumped up teens anymore.. Notoriously the Normanby was known to be busy and filled ,like a fight club and lots of drunkenness... however,, NOT ANYMORE!!!.. the small crowd is chilled and relaxed... the entertainment (solo female musician ) was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxed.. half price dining.. !! really great food.!!. i will say it again!!! I enjoyed the evening.. and will frequent the venue quite regularly.. when i turned up was expecting a potentially crazy night... am sure the Normanby deserves a second look from couples looking to dine, in a nice atmosphere, lovely staff with great entertainment...

I always go for the state of origin and rugby games. Best Atmosphere in Brisbane for any sport a on the big screen.

This place is poorly managed and doesn't attract the best crowd. It has made a decent attempt to bring itself into an acceptable standard to match the competition on Brisbane; if the competition decided to fire it's staff, and hire a shifty/ incompetent group of bar staff, and fill there establishment with the kind of people who want to start fights and cut in line at the bar. Wouldn't return.

No beers and bar closes before my 6 months Olds bed time!

Relaxed atmosphere and friendly efficient staff. I attended a casual function on a weeknight and it was a good night. We had a variety of finger food and drinks. Good selection of popular domestic and imported beer on tap. Enough staff that there were no line ups. The bathrooms were clean. It's close to public transport.

Made enquiry about dinner the staff member was very friendly and helpful

Great food, decor, service and COVID procedures. I'll be back

Very disappointed in service and quality. Will not be returning until there is a change of management or ownership
