I decided to treat myself to the entire Gastrochilus collection at New World Orchids in Manchester, picking up all six varieties. They arrived impeccably packaged, securely mounted, and already showing robust root systems that are thriving. I reached out for some advice, and Kristen was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, giving me tips that really helped my plants settle in. It even managed to produce a new leaf without any signs of stress from the shipping process, and it's already pushing out another one! New World Orchids in Manchester did a fantastic job. The orchid arrived healthy and was securely packed in a fresh pot. The tiger stripes are absolutely stunning and look even better in person than in photos. Highly recommend!

While this 1995 publication from New World Orchids remains a solid resource, it does feel a bit dated. It offers a wealth of information on classic Cymbidium goeringii varieties, with a format and depth that rivals the comprehensive Fuukiran Jiten, and the terminology index at the end is particularly helpful. However, if you are looking for details on the latest wild discoveries or new line-bred cultivars, you won’t find them here. Additionally, it doesn’t guide you through the cultivation process, so you will need to consult other manuals for growing instructions.

Purchased a Spring 2017 orchid from New World Orchids in Manchester, MI, and it was an absolute delight from day one. This little beauty has thrived ever since, steadily developing both roots and lush foliage. Easily a five-star experience.
