They don t help with housing which is very essential when trying to leave your abuser and many staff made my stay here very difficult there is a strict 8pm curfew unless working and a strict in your room by 10pm curfew. Unless you already have a housing plan in place before you come here I don t recommend this place and it s a very strict 45 deadline to kick you out no matter if it s covid, you pregnant got kids or old when 45 days is up from the day you came be ready to go to another shelter

They are not interested in prevention at all. My friend tried to get help on snowy night with out having anywhere else to go away from her husband. All they said was they can not help. Don t waste your time. She said she was on the phone for 50 minuets to be heard No after one hour of waiting for the call. They will redirect you to other places or tell you to go to police station. Just have your credit card and go to motel or something and cry alone. So useless place. I don t know what they do there. Just make sure women are beaten up and already scared from the partner.

I wasn't allowed to go. After keeping me on the phone for quite a while asking me a bunch of questions about what I'd been through and giving me a little hope I'd have somewhere to go, I got turned down with the excuse that they didn't think that was the right place for me. It's a crisis center is it not? I had been abused and had no place to go. What more could I say? Don't count on getting help here.

I spoke to a caseworker today (Mutual Ground) that was so unbelievably rude it took my breath away. This is help for battered women ? My experience with my local shelter when I was IN IMMEDIATE DANGER was that they were only accepting women with children. WHEN I called NOT ONCE NOT TWICE BUT 3 DIFFERENT TIMES OVER THE YEARS I WAS TOLD THIS. NOW TODAY THAT SAME SHELTER TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TOLD ANYBODY THAT AS IF I'M LYING. I AM SO DISGUSTED AND DEMORALIZED WITH THE TREATMENT I HAVE RECEIVED TRYING TO GET HELP AS A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. I'M BEING TRAUMATIZED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. HOW CAN A SHELTWR RETURN A WOMAN TO HER ABUSER. I'D RATHER KILL MYSELF.

They did so much for my son and I. I was in an extremely abusive relationship and if I did not get out of there my son would have gotten taken from me that place saved mine and my son's life. I was able to stay there and get counseling and help that I needed to be able to move forward in my life to better for myself and my son. If anybody says something different than they were there for the wrong reasons or they didn't want to help those being offered to them

When I had asked a few questions for my friends for a very difficult situtation they were welcoming, friendly, nonjudgmental, and worried about your safety and rights. This is a great service for women and all types of women. I cannot be more grateful to have been in the presence of a warm and loving environment. Thank you so much for just being there. I know you do a lot more for children and women. Mutual Ground is a blessing!
