One of most beautiful courses any where, absolutely spectacular views and superbly maintained always, I love playing there
One of most beautiful courses any where, absolutely spectacular views and superbly maintained always, I love playing there
Beautiful scenery but always cart path only because the course is always very wet.
This is my favorite course. The scenery is beautiful and the course is amazing. Even if you are not playing well it doesn't matter, there is so much beauty on this course.
Great food, and fabulous a view. Ask for Crystal or Kaylyn their service was phenomenal. If you're finishing up a round of golf you'll be pleased with their attentiveness and chatter!
A great public mountain golf course. The facility is dated, but it's still great for a daily fee golf course.
The views of Mt. Mitchell are most beautiful, throughout the course. The staff are friendly and professional.
The good...The coarse and scenery are pretty.the staff are very nice and friendly and you can tell they're trying to make sure you enjoy your round of golf. The bad...Cart path only. And this is strictly inforced.Rough is deep around some of the Green's and along fairways.Water issues in certain areas...
My favorite mountain course on the east coast. Beautiful rolling hills with spectacular change in elevation. Rolling creeks through the course. A tremendous test of golf. Greens are fast and challenging.
Had not played here in about a year & has always been one of my favorite courses for its beauty. This time I was disappointed in the condition. Tee boxes were covered in divots showing no repair or maintenance. Greens were very slow & the 6" deep rough was left un-cut. We had no one in front to hol...
The sweetest views, it's a fine upscale golf course in the Mountains but have great two day packages. Play a round, stay in a condo on the course, play a second round the next day. $125 a piece. Just the views are worth it but it's a well taken care of course. It's a upscale course very nice. I high...
A surprisingly challenging course, with many tight fairways, bunker-guarded greens, wiry rough, and two crystal clear streams (the Roaring Branch & South Toe) that reappear on so many holes it's like seeing an old friend after a while. The streams have huge Rainbow Trout in them, which you can feed ...
Awesome place, been coming for 15 years and always a joy
Best course around!!! Great administration in pro shop. Restuarant is super.
Beautiful course. With great views andtrout streams running throughout!
Slow, bumpy greens. Carts on path only, ALL the time. Short, easy course. One of the par three pins was only 93 yards from the white tees. Crowded course resulted in a near 6hr round. No reason to drive there unless you live really close. On the plus side, they were grilling burgers and the barte...
With a name like Mount Mitchell Golf Club and a location in the mountainous terrain of Western North Carolina, you d expect the golf course to have a tremendous amount of elevation change. Although this is not the case, the Mount Mitchell More
Most beautiful golf
Course in WNC!
Great food and atmosphere. Wonderful friendly staff and waitstaff. (Ask for Jessica she's awesome)
One of, if not the most beautiful public course in North Carolina. Super friendly staff, and even though my front nine was poopy, I had an amazing time.
Absolutely beautiful golf course with stunning views.
One of the best golf courses in the state. Just played three days and course is in wonderful shape. Add that to all the natural beauty and how could one not have a great day?
Awesome place to get away and play golf in a different atmosphere
Beautiful location, terrific wait staff, excellent food.
Husband and I went yearly for a decade before parent duty came upon us. Mountain golf at its finest. Highest standards always maintained in care, upkeep; professionalism and courteousness of personnel, quality of lodging, food, hospitality unrivaled. We drive 2 days to get there. We will go now...
This is a beautiful golf course. It is always in great condition
Golf course is fantastic but the speed of the greens takes away from the fun of this place. Bent greens are not supposed to be this slow. Similar to putting a fairway.
Course has some great views. Greens were in great shape. They roll slow so make sure to hit it. Course didn't seem that hard, but I didnt play well. Not worth the money in my eyes. I thought it was a little expensive, especially since you cant even drive in the fairways. I have played nicer courses ...
Way too wet to play. They should have shut it down for the day.
Great place for golf, proce $133, 2 rds and lodging. Awesome
Just an amazingly great course. And the views, spectacular!!!
Absolutely stunning golf coarse, i have been playing here for 15 years and each time out presents a new challenge. The prettiest coarse I have played east of the Mississippi River, and probably my favorite coarse to play ever.
Soggy course (always that way we were told) and slow play. Not the kind of golf I like.
Best place to have fun ,and also relax and enjoy the beautiful seanary. Beautiful course thanks to Jim Lockridge.
I think everyone should come in and try our restaurant. We are open to the public.
I played Mt.Mitchell for my first time and enjoyed it very much. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The course was in great shape. The weather was perfect for a June day.
Great mountain course. Unbelievably flat for a track at this elevation. That's by design. Others complain about tight layout, but the valley is in the shadow of the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi, and fitting 18 holes in such a tight spot was an accomplishment.
The staff is casual but a...
Beautiful course. A great place to get away and enjoy a truly serene atmosphere.
Great place to eat on the south toe I just wish they were open every day of the week and all winter long
I recently visited the area for a golf retreat with 2 of my best friends and my 21 year old son. He's in college and I wanted to make his 21'st birthday memorable. We rented an Airbnb cabin for a weekend male bonding and golf.
We had an 11 am tee time and after paying our green fees were were gre...
What a gorgeous golf course!! Played twice in late July, 2014 and enjoyed every minute. The greens and fairways were lush and soft. The greens putted slower than you'd think for bent grass. The landscape is a site to behold. Nearly every hold gives a different perspective of the Mt. Mitchell range. ...
I was told the elevation was around 4700 ft. Something I love for the temperature. Got there and found it is more like 2500 ft. Disappointed.
Found they are cart path only. Wasn't noted to me earlier. However, I did expect it because it had rained 3 of the previous 5 days.
No driving range. So, st...
One of my favorite courses. I've been going there for the last 16 years or so and have never been disappointed, until this year. Several fairways are crusty and the grass is dying and the greens are like velcro...very slow! I hope the maintenance crew takes care of this beautiful course soon.
Great views, overrated course. Very wet conditions because of the mountains. Worth playing but don't overpay.
The Best all the people's there make you feel like family. This year will make it the 30 time. We all Love it up Mt Mitchell Golf Club.
Cart path only at all times ..not good for the lay out ..The place look like it needed some attention..not my kind of place .no
Outstanding views, several tight fairways, not older player friendly. No restrooms on course. Told by starter to use nature, not received as good news with wife of 61 years. Restricted to cart path at all times. Again not pleasant or recommended for older players. Recommend course for younger player...
Best kept secret in North Carolina. Old school clubhouse, beautiful scenic mountain course in excellent condition. We drove up and back from Mooresville easily same day. Don t let the reasonable prices fool you, this is an awesome track.
Simply beautiful! Breathtakingly beautiful. Cool...temperatures were so comfortable- especially compared to the rest of the country.
The course was in great shape ,the greens were ver u good except they were slow from all the rain we have had.
Course is awesome and very challenging. Keeping it in the fairway is a must. Beautiful scenery on almost every hole. The people and staff are friendly. It's just a hidden gem.
Beautiful setting at the base of Mount Mitchell alongside the pristine South Toe River. It's amazing with their climate how well the course is maintained. Staff is very friendly and overall is a great place to play. It's cart path only all the time, so that makes for some walking but with the sce...
Mt. Mitchell is simply a must play course if you're in the area! It's in the South Toe River valley and you play across the river a couple times. If you're looking for a great layout, fantastic conditions, beautiful scenery, and a super friendly staff, this is the place for you. Definitely take your...
Other than losing golf balls right down the middle due to nightly irrigation, it's still in my top three courses. The staff is courteous and makes one feel very welcome. Bring plenty of golf balls.
Great place to meet up with group! Golf course was in great shape given all the spring weather. Barry - Dean and the entire staff were excellent. Lodging in nearby homes was awesome. Fun and Fair test of golf that you can play over and over again.
Ended up there on a Friday last minute after a recommendation from the owners of Albert's Lodge - could not have been more pleasantly surprised. There where 6 of us and they accommodated us within 10 minutes. The food was unbelievable, BEST FILET we have ever eaten (and we've had a few!) All our foo...
We were really looking forward to having the prime rib. . .but what a let down, $29 and mostly fat. Everything was luke warm and nothing was fresh...maybe reheated from the previous night? At least the bread was hot and tasty. The clubhouse is in dire need of a major remodel. The service was outsta...
Great, beautiful, fun, scenic, and fantastic. Course is so much fun and will test every club in the bag. Course has some elevation change, but it's not rediculously up and down. If I had to say there was one drawback, it would be that it's cart path only ALL the time....but that's it. Go play it!!
Look forward to this annual trip starting the day I get back from it. Awesome course. Beautiful scenery. Great people
Beautiful views. Well kept fairways and greens. Accommodating staff.
The course is in fabulous shape! Get some feed for the trout at the clubhouse as you will see them on several holes. Had lunch downstairs from the clubhouse. Great chili dogs and pimento sandwiches among other things. Excellent!!
The course is always in amazing shape and the staff is very friendly.
Went here for our anniversary to get away from everything and it worked :) The golf course is spectacular, worth the expense. The room we stayed at was very nice, had two bedrooms with 4 queen beds though we only needed one. Kitchen had a stove, pots/pans even soap and towels. There is free wi-f...
