Mill Valley Public Library

Why the MV Public Library is the best place to read a book in Marin:
1. The setting is gorgeous!
2. Great seating options, and the best deck of any public library in America!
3. It's a short walk from town and coffee.
4. There's plenty of free parking out front.
5. The place has a calm, soothing vibe about it.
6. The staff aims to please.
7. There's a great kid section.
8. Magazines a plenty.

This is my favorite library in Marin. It has the second largest collection of any library in Marin County, and the main reading room is a comfortable space with easy chairs, sofas, and a working fireplace (which the staff keeps lit on cold or rainy days).

The staff is very professional, but, with one exception, not as personable as some of the smaller libraries in Marin. My belief is that the head librarian set the tone, and the head librarian here is very professional, but out of touch with her patrons.

That said, I love this library, especially the historical library-within-the-library.

a beautiful library in a beautiful location. Everything you want and need. A good reference section and very comfortable to sit and read your book for a while. There are computers for use and a very good DVD section.

One of the most unique, spacious, beautiful library locations ever. Superb "book on tape" department, children's library is breathtaking, and the floor to ceiling windows looking out on the redwoods is unlike any library I've ever visited. The monthly books sale is worth the trip.

Beautiful building in beautiful setting but parking lot a huge problem. Staff excellent and experienced.
