*COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL* I m new to Meridian, I m sure that MCC is a fine establishment. I have no problems with the school in general. But their cosmetology program is SEVERELY neglected, and I do have a problem with that!! I am a licensed hairstylist in the state of Florida, I have been doing hair for over 7 years and I won t go through the long story of how I ended up being in MCC s Cosmetology School for around two months (300 hours). But I will say that I have been in cosmetology school before and I have never in my life witnessed something so horribly unorganized. The teachers are awful, they did nothing to prepare me for the state board exams (which is the whole reason I was there) and they are unhelpful to the other students. They pick and choose what they let the students do. They do weird things that don t make any sense. Everybody is mean to each other. I felt like I was in prison/day care/hell the whole time I was there. Many past students have filed complaints about the instructors and nothing has been done. I have no time to get into those politics with the school. But I will leave a review incase someone see it and gets it through their heads that they should look into this program. I am not happy with my experience, and I m heartbroken for the people that I have met that are still in this school because they have paid to be there. I will not recommend anyone to this program. Some kind of investigation needs to be done. They can t keep sending out unprepared hairstylists!!

I'm thinking about dropping my online class comp 2 with Amanda Thompson. She is so unbelievably rude. Never answers questions I have for the assignment...and when she does answer my questions she's rude. It sucks because I'm trying to get into dentistry school. But teachers do not understand that when you're that mean to a student it's scary and difficult for them to complete the course. I have had students earn me not to take her for comp 2. I WILL get my money back. I thought I could finish after midterm but I just can't do it.
***UPDATE*** SHE IS STILL COMPLETELY AWFUL WITH COMMUNICATION. I HAVENT HEARD FROM HER IN A WEEK I HAVE SENT MANY MESSAGES REGARDING A VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE*****

2 things! They have the worse housing director I ever known. , he Never fixes anything and never helps anyone and from the first day to the last he's always hard to find and get business taken care of. He also curses out the students I am a witness and he's cursed at me. He don't do his job and he picks on ppl who are not his favorite and will hinder ur education if he don't like you by making sure you habe no room. He also do things he cannot do, besides curaing out students he takes away your senority of he wants. No need to go to the dean if he does. We also have the worst Deans who never tries to help students. Other than that, it's bad because, though we are grown , they won't let us smoke in out rooms or on campus. Rediculous. The last thing is the campus police is way to strict and the RA's have to much athority. I hope by now he's gone

I graduated from here in drafting great school i have been able to find a job doing what i went to school for. Most teacher are more than willing to help you even if you need extra teaching
