Huge thanks to Robert and his crew for making our day at the Memphis Botanic Garden so special! The team was incredibly communicative and offered a fantastic range of wedding styles to match our vision. While the venue itself is wonderful, the bridal suite is definitely due for a decor refresh—we actually had to watch out for the low-hanging chandelier! I’m only 5'1, so it was a constant concern. Also, the catering selection feels a bit limited right now, as several of the usual options have closed since the pandemic. That said, it was still an absolutely perfect wedding for us, and we loved every minute of it.

I had a wonderful experience working with Robert Stice, the Director of Events at the Memphis Botanic Garden. He went above and beyond to bring my vision to life. While the venue offers a pre-approved list of vendors, I found it easy to secure Club Windward for catering and CFY for bartending. A special highlight was Mr. Stice’s thoughtful arrangement for my brother, who uses a wheelchair; he ensured direct access to Sara’s Place and a dedicated route for the vehicle to reach the Bluffton Pavilion area as closely as possible. Thank you for making my garden wedding dreams come true!

Robert, the current event coordinator at Memphis Botanic Garden, has been incredibly responsive to all my calls and emails over the past year. This is a nice improvement from some past issues with responsiveness I heard about. The venue itself is stunning and offers plenty of scenic spots for wedding photos. We held our ceremony at the Blecken Pavilion and moved to the Goldsmith Room and Sculpture Garden for the reception. Since there is a significant distance between these two locations, renting two trams was a great idea and made the transition very smooth. I also appreciated that they have a curated list of preferred caterers, which simplified our decision-making process.

The gardens are stunning, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout the process. While the rental equipment like chairs and the tram felt a bit overpriced relative to the ceremony fee, the team was super helpful on the day of the event. One downside was that some areas and details were a bit difficult to locate, so I would recommend visiting the site in person and setting up a meeting with a rentals coordinator before your rehearsal weekend. Since I was based four hours away, I missed out on that opportunity, but it would have made things much smoother.

Even with the power outage from that May 2017 storm, Haley managed to coordinate everything flawlessly. Working with her was a genuine pleasure; she was easy to communicate with and made the whole experience at the garden feel seamless and lovely.

When we had to pivot the ceremony to Memphis Botanic Garden on the morning of, she and the maid of honor scrambled to secure outdoor space, rent chairs, and stage everything in under five hours. I’m docking a point for value, as the bar options felt pricey and a bit rigid. While the margaritas hit the spot, the white wine arrived lukewarm and they missed our requested beer brand. On the positive side, the new standard dance floor is stunning. Thanks to Haley and the team at BG, what could have been a chaotic mess turned into a truly beautiful day.

The gardens are absolutely stunning and full of character, making them perfect for photos. We actually visited several times to get a feel for the space, and the staff were always welcoming and helpful. While the venue is on the pricier side, especially since we had to supply our own service and plates, the atmosphere made it worth it. One note: we used an approved caterer but still paid a $2 per guest fee because they weren’t on their preferred list. It would be nice if that policy changed, but it didn’t ruin our day. We got lucky with an empty schedule, giving our decorator plenty of time to set up. Ultimately, the Memphis Botanic Garden provided the perfect backdrop for our large Indian wedding. We couldn’t have imagined tying the knot anywhere else.

My wedding at Memphis Botanic Garden in May 2011 was absolutely wonderful. The only cost was the entrance fee, which made it a perfect choice given the economic climate. My family, friends, minister, and photographer were all there, and we walked away with stunning photos and lasting memories. It was a beautiful setting that didn't break the bank.

Memphis Botanic Garden is a lovely spot, but the pricing for events can feel a bit steep. We found ourselves paying $600 for an hour of venue rental, only to hit another unexpected charge of $75 for the bridal room. It’s reasonable to expect that the bridal suite access would be included in the base rate rather than tacked on separately.
