We only saw two copper sharks during the entire tour with the relay of teams to enter the cage! Altogether we saw shark about 10 times ... it is also not at sea! You can still see the coast ... we didn't see a white shark. The smell of oil and fish that give to the sharks is unbearable and the water is filled with oil where the cage is, you stink, you are prepared for it ... the round trip takes about 6 hours in all! Long drive to nothing ...
The team is nice and they make video and everything, but I was disappointed for not warning that it was not white shark season ... I felt cheated! IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHITE SHARK DON'T GO OUT OF SEASON PQ IS A LOSS OF TIME AND MONEY!
White shark only in winter! (March - September)

Exciting experience and professional tour service. Nice to have a marine biologist on staff to teach and answer questions. Definitely the biggest boat on the water vs the other shark tours which means able to go out in chopper waters while all the other boats couldn't. We saw copper sharks and were lucky to see a great white when the other groups hadn't. Felt very safe and was a super fun experience.

We enjoyed our time there as one of our top activities. As of 2017 when the Orca whales took up residence in the area shark encounters have gone down but we did see a great white shark and another species. Whale encounters have gone up. Go in the winter month for the best viewing from their nice big boats. Travel a short distance to the areas to view the sharks and whales. The water is cold so be prepared to wear one of their wetsuits to keep you warm.

Best in the business, Incredibly friendly and professional crew. Slashfin is a awsome boat, one of the largest cage diving boats in gansbaai making it easier to cope with sea sickness. Warm food is available on the boat, along with tea and hot chocolate... we got to see a giant great white shark! would recommend marine dynamics to anyone.

The goal was to find a reliable and vetted shark diving company to explore the great white shark cage diving experience near Cape Town; when I found Marine Dynamics, I was more than satisfied with their staff, the equipment and the overall experience.

Upon arrival, we were provided breakfast, debriefed on safety and logistics and signed our waivers before heading to the boat. We then traveled 15-minutes towards Dyer Island, where we entered the cage to begin the experience. On our expedition we saw so many sharks I dubbed the experience #sharkcity-- it was unlike anything I could have imagine and I will never forget the feeling of being up-close and personal with the beautiful beasts!

Would highly recommend this company for anyone who is seeking an adventure of the shark variety!

Very good experience! Everything is very well organized with a breakfast / meal served before departure, explanations, dives, towels on the boat and on arrival and soup to return!
It should just create changing rooms to change because it is not very practical in the toilet, especially when returning.

It was a very bad experience, we paid for the tour but no one came for us, Marine Dynamics deceived us

I m shocked, I don t know where the bus stood, but we have witnesses to the security that saw us, we waited for the bus from 3-15 to 4-30 (we wrote 2 letters at 3-50 and at 4-30) we were answered only 5 am that the bus was somewhere, but we were not.

Just wow. 5 10/10. An epic experience from start to finish with a fantastic organised company and team.

+ Some of the other experiences we have had in SA are a bit rough around the edges and haphazard. But this was super slick and well organised! Such as unexpected elements of breakfast and lunch.
+ Informative, educational, well run, friendly, hands on making it a real worth while experience.
+ The team knew their stuff and having Toby on board was so brilliant. Everyone really went out of their way both on the boat and in the water. Doing their best to talk about the sharks and other wildlife.
+ With so many different passengers (some being sea sick - me included) they were really attentive making sure we were all looked after and talked to.
+ Insanely lucky to see Great Whites (albeit not super up close) but moreover to see Copper Sharks flip out the water.

I d highly recommend Marine Dynamics to anyone wanting a truly brilliant experience on the water. Go out with an open mind rather than any expectations and be prepared to have them go over and above!

I went shark cage diving in Gansbaai with Marine Dynamics in August last year. This was one of the best experiences in my life! The not only educated me on the conservation and research they do for Great White Sharks but also made me feel really comfortable going into the water. The volunteers on the boat were all really funny and entertaining. Ontop of it all, I got some really awesome pictures from the crew members. Marine Dynamics is a MUST use for shark diving in Gansbaai!

We took the early trip from Cape Town at 03 40 hrs. The driver was so nice that it can't be described in words. Though we couldn't watch the white shark, got to see some copper sharks. They informed us well before that we may not be able to watch the white ones. Overall it was an awesome experience. The breakfast they offered was also very good. And way back to cape town the driver stopped to some awesome places which was bonus for us. Don't forget to buy fresh apples from the farm call peregrine farm stall.

The tour was really well done and the crew very well prepared. They will take you through all the information regarding the dive to feel save. They are also very enthusiastic about their job, which makes the trip even more fun. However, do be aware that sporting the sharks is somewhat difficult nowadays - you will be lucky if you see 2 or e during the attraction.

The experience of diving with sharks has been unique. They treat you super well and explain everything to you. At first hour they give you breakfast, then take a bag with your wetsuit (which you have given the size when you arrive at reception), you get on the boat and in the middle of the sea. They give you some indications of the rules to take into account inside the cage and the mess. The dive lasts 15 minutes and when you leave you get something hot and some snack bag. When you arrive at the port they give you hot soup to get warm, because the water is cold.

Great price for the experience you get. I went in suboptimal conditions and yet we still saw three types of sharks, whales and giant stingrays rays. The best experience was on the deck where we have full view of great whites. However, beneath the water, the visibility was low and we didn't get to see much.

Realy friendly and helpful stuff!

You might ask how the visibility under water is before you book. When i did it it was like 1/4 meter so you could realy see anything under water but it was an awesome experience anyway.

One thing you should also think off is to bring something against sea sickness if you tend to get sick on a boat or just in case.

We do not want to miss this experience :)
We had a great trip, saw many sharks and even The Great White! The team is very well organized, everyone helps together, the atmosphere is great and the fun is not too short in spite of absolute safety!

We took the trip today and are still very excited. The people are really friendly, very relaxed and helpful. After we checked in for a rich breakfast between 10.30am and 11am, we were briefed and pointed out that orcas have been driving the white sharks out of the bay for about a year. No orca has been sighted this year, but the sharks are still not seen as regularly as they used to be.
When everyone got their life jackets and weather jackets, they went to the boat and the first anchorage. We waited there for at least an hour and attracted sharks, but nobody showed up. Then it went to the next place and we were successful there. Two small white sharks and some copper sharks (coppersharks) were seen. In addition, a large ray came over.
We were in the cage for about 15-20 minutes. In order not to cool down, we were given 7mm wetsuits with hood and shoes.
Tea, cocoa and snacks were available throughout the trip.
When we got back a hot soup was waiting for us and a short presentation of the video of the day.

In short it was a super organized day, you are equipped with everything you need (we didn't even have to bring towels) and well looked after!

This was an all around great experience! I just went shark cage diving with Marine Dynamics today (Sept 2, 2019) and I would recommend it to anyone! Everything went very smoothly from beginning to end. The staff were super friendly and they watched all of the passengers closely. They made sure we were safe and noticed when we needed help without us even having to ask. We saw three different kinds of sharks with one of them being a 12 foot great white...AMAZING! If shark cage diving is on your bucket list like it was on mine, do it with Marine Dynamics. You are in great hands with them.

Cannot say enough about this place!! Absolutely incredible experience. We booked the shark cage dive with transfer from cape Town our driver texted us the.evening before with a time and was very prompt and professional. A light breakfast was served when we got there along with coffee and juice while we checked in and went over safety. Then we got our gear and on the boat. Cannot say enough about this staff and the volunteers, they made sure everyone was having a great time and was taken care of. I felt a little sick and didn't want to go inside the cabin and the volunteers was nice enough to go in for me for drinks and snacks.
The view is better from the boat since the water is murky but such a cool experience in the cage (water in April was pretty chilly even with a full wet suit). The staff offers you hot chocolate or tea waiting for you when you get out with a dry towel. They seem responsible with what they do, they don't feed the sharks and don't encourage them to hit the cage so they don't get injured. They truley care for these animals! They'll answer any questions you may have. We were lucky enough on our trip to see 10 coppers and 1 great white. I felt very safe with then throughout. Don't underestimate the soup and bread at the end, it's delicious and you'll chow down after a long day!
Would absolutely recommend this company!

Without a doubt, it is very worthwhile to pay a little more and go aboard the best boat for diving in Gansbaai. Nobody got sick on our boat because it was made for this purpose and not adapted, they are concerned with the environment and the mixture is made of bio-degradable products and a biologist goes along explaining everything about marine life and guiding the preservation of the species of the White shark.

Amazing experience!! Staff and crew are so kind and knowledgeable. Everything about the day went smoothly, from the hotel pick up to the educational/what to expect video, to the dive itself and lunch afterwards. The crew really respected the sharks and were able to answer any questions with ease. Always had snacks and good energy available for us. Recommend highly for any shark enthusiasts!

It is not what is expected. You will not see white sharks, only other types of sharks. If the sea is moved, they do not cancel the activity and all you will have is a bad experience of much dizziness. It is very expensive and there are too many people at each exit.
