Managers on a Mission: Developing Christ-Centered Future Leaders of the Sport Industry
Managers on a Mission (MOM) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to developing Christ-centered future leaders of the sport industry. The organization was founded in 2009 by former college basketball coach, Todd Guckenberger, who saw an opportunity to use his passion for sports and his faith to make a difference in the world.
The mission of MOM is simple: to develop leaders who will impact the world for Christ through their work in sports. The organization achieves this by providing leadership programs, events, and ministry opportunities that help young people grow in their faith and develop the skills they need to succeed as leaders.
One of the key programs offered by MOM is its Leadership Development Program (LDP). This program is designed for college students who are interested in pursuing careers in sports management or related fields. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on experience, and mentorship from experienced professionals, LDP participants gain valuable skills and insights into what it takes to succeed as leaders in the sport industry.
In addition to its LDP program, MOM also offers a variety of other leadership development opportunities. These include workshops and seminars on topics such as team building, communication skills, conflict resolution, and more. The organization also hosts an annual conference that brings together young people from across the country for networking opportunities and inspirational speakers.
But perhaps one of the most unique aspects of MOM's ministry is its focus on international missions. Each year, members of MOM's staff travel around the world to share their faith with others through sports-related activities such as coaching clinics or youth camps. These trips not only provide valuable service opportunities but also help participants gain new perspectives on how God is working around the world.
