My experience was good. Eight of us went to brunch on a Sunday around 12 for my birthday. Overall I had a good time. The place was a little crowded. The service was pretty good. The mimosas were a little watered down. There was a great variety of food. This was my second time there and I would definitely go back.

I ve been going to mamajuana for years when it comes to going out. As of late I ve associated their establishment with nothing but negativity if you are a male looking to grab a drink after 10pm. For example they always have a new policy . I never try to go in there looking unprofessional in terms of jeans sagging and being inebriated. However the bouncers seem to pick and choose their own polices at their discretion dependent on their own personal biases. One day it will be you need to buy a bottle to come in and we allow no sneakers however if you do go in there will be people with no bottles and sneakers. They need to develop consistency on what is not acceptable as opposed to being biased on their own personal decisions. I m perfectly ok with an establishment telling me their ratio in terms of male to female is leaning too heavily towards males. However their makeshift policies just cause for an unpleasant experience. They had a sign which said classic sneakers allowed . However when asked what is a classic sneaker the employees outside can t give a straight answer.

Ambiance is great, food is OK, service is Horrible. The girls just hang out like if they are customers. The bus boys work their butts off and have to go get waitresses for customers that have lost their patience waiting. They really need a manager to delegate. These girls are having too much fun at the expense of the paying customer. They should really try to improve their customer service and attentiveness.

The food is good prices too but it is not an environment for families because the music is very loud and you can not talk and the FANTASTIC JUKAS what a disgrace! We all smoke to those who don't want to because they use it indoors, taking children there is not sensible.

Coming to Mamajuana In Inwood is a unique NY Experiance. Inwood " is Just about as North and "Uptown" as you can in "Upper Manhattan", The lovely Sidewalk Cafe sits amongst several other pretty sidewalk cafes. Mamajuana however is favorably situated under 2 shady trees that kept our party of 6 cool in the 90 degree sun. We were there to celebrate our daughters high school graduation with several of her classmates. I had walked by this block last Autumn and filed it away in mylist of places to come back to at the next appropriate opportunity. Yesterday was that day and we were not disappointed. Our server Anthony was very welcoming and enjoyable, the staff filled our waterglasses endlessy, (like 7 or 8 times each) and we never had to ask. We ordered appetizers and they were delicious and came out in a very reasonable amount of time. The main courses definitely required some time but the food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful, well worth the wait.My wife and I shared the Puerquito which is a Pork dish with rice and beans and plantains. The pork was "fallen' off the bone" (just the way I like it). We all thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food, ambiance and wonderful service. I would heartily recommend it to anyone who wanted a delicious cosmopolitan NY Experience.

Even thou this place is great. Awesome music and amazing people(the ones that go to eat). The only issue is the OLD EVIL WITCH LADY THAT CALL HERSELF MANAGER. She is the worse. Rude to everyone, specially the workers. This place would soon go out of business if that witch still there. She need to go back to school and educate herself on how to be a manager.

This place needs some help. First of all, change your DJ. Your business has typical Dominican name but in the 5 hours that I was there he played 3 bachata songs and 10 seconds of each. No salsa, no merengue at all. Day of visit 1/14/17 after 8 pm by the way. Next on my list: the Hookahs. What a garbage. To me tasted like they took some grass from the nearest park and put it on the Hookah instead of tobacco, and even worst is 30 dollars for that. Drinks were OK, ambiance and lighting too. Reason for the 2 stars that I give them. In conclusion I might give them another chance if there is nothing else available.

Used to be a good club til they added awful security guards. Was accused of being too drunk when I did not have a single drink. Security was extremely rude as well raising their voice for no reason. They had no evidence and would just say either go in or leave completely avoiding the matter.

I ordered 2 blueberry tequila drinks and my server tried to charge me for 5. When we asked him why he charged us for 5 he made up an excuse saying that some how the bar tender said 3 more which made no sense. Seemed like they were trying to take advantage.

Have been here for both the chill restaurant vibe and the after hours party/nightclub vibe. I mean, it is a Latin place, how could it not turn into a "club" at night? Haha

The food is delicious, the drinks were good, the music was jamming (good mix of English/Spanish language music - and switches from bachata, merengue, salsa, reggeton, etc.), and the decor is classy. Would definitely come again.

PS. There used to be an Upper West Side location, not sure if it's still there though. Only danced at that location, as there was a huge separate room for that.

This was the first of many new restaurants that popped up in this area. I would always get the churrasco and it was decent though always a bit on the side of overdone. It's pricey for what you get. The crowd is young and hood rich for the most part. I went to the brunch and I did not enjoy that as much. It seems like an effort to get rid of the leftovers of the week.

The customer service needs a lot of work. They require you to have a prix fixe menu for parties over 12 people (no room for negotiation) and you are only allowed to sit for 2 hrs!! They make you feel as though they are doing you a favor by allowing you to eat at the restaurant.

Absolutely recommend this place!! Best Dominican food ever! It's pretty loud in there since they have the bar and loud music so just be aware it might not be best place for intimate conversations since you could barely hear each other. Everyone was extremely attentive during our entire stay there. Fyi bathrooms are gender neutral so don't freak out if you see a male as you exit your stall. There is someone there watching as well as security at the restaurant. Will definitely visit again soon.

When I tried to call for takeout the man on the phone kept mistaking my order. In frustration he hung up on me. When I tried to call called back I received no answer for over 10 min.
Very unprofessional.
I've eaten here several times and love the food but I will not put up with crappy service. This isn't the only place to get Spanish food in Dyckman.lol

The waiter was terrible she was so distracted, She left our table before even taking our full order , I was looking at the menu to decide what I m going to get and she just leaves and makes the order . It was 3 of us How is she going to just assume that just one person is ordering food !! Ones the food gets there the order comes wrong ! Not ones she came to ask if we were ok . We had to ask the bus boy everytime we needed something, he was great ! After the bill came I gave the waiter additional tip other then the 18% already included that was the first time she smiled and actually approached to our table to say thank you .
